When you came to the traffic lights if you turned left then right go down you would've gone to the fish feeding .

For a small city it looks very spread out- definitely need a car in Darwin by the looks of things to get around anywhere.

Yes indeed pretty spread out and public bus system is not that good and essentially you need a car to move around.
