Graduates from public colleges (Bow Valley College is a public college) will remain eligible for a PGWP of up to 3 years if they graduate from a field of study linked to occupations in long-term shortage. Study Permit holders and applicants with applications submitted prior to November 1st 2024 will be excluded from this new PGWP condition.
I got an admission for 2 yr pg diploma course and study permit is approved before November, unfortunately my program is not listed in pgwp eligibility program list.so i want to know that should i change my course or not
In my case there is no other pg diploma course available in Conestoga College. Can I choose an undergraduate certificate program after graduation is it possible
Hello, I am a student in who already finished non pgwp program that started in Jan 2024 and have already applied for study permit extension before Nov 1st for second program starting Jan 2025 that is also non pgwp list. Now will I be affected as I did what IRCC had asked, if I change anything now, I will come under new rules. Please clarify.
I completed my first program on August 2024 and started my second course on September 2024 without taking a break. My study permit will end on Dec 31st, so I applied for an extension on Oct 13th and still waiting for the decision. Will I get 3 years of PGWP?
My first course started in jan and is finishing in December i applied for second course in another college but that course is not in the list but i have applied for my extension before nov 1 am I eligible or not pls pls reply
Right now i'm studying HRM and my 2nd course will start which is welding a field course that will begin from sep 2025 but i have not applied for extension so my concern is if i apply for the extension then will i get 3year pgwp or ami i eligible???@@kanimmigration
@@kanimmigration okay, actually i started my second course from September, applied extension on October, i am asking if any problem for different fields in both courses?
So, I completed my first program in September 2024 and got my study permit extended before November 1st 2024 for my second program starting in January 2025. But it is not PGWP eligible, so does it mean I have to change my program?
But my program is starting in a few weeks time, can you please share the source or provide a clarity on where it is mentioning about this issue (regarding this possible rule affecting students depending on when they start their program). Because from the limited sources that I could find they have only mentioned if a student switches programs than what is mentioned in the original letter of acceptance and then needs to extend their study permit even if it is applied before November 1st, then only this rule will apply, is what I have heard.
I was enrolled in a course on may 2023. Then i switched to another since I wasn't so good in my first course. My second course is culinary management and it started at september 2023. I haven't extended study permit yet. Will this policy affects in my situation??
@kanimmigration so i don't want to worry? I am concerned because I am filing for study permit extension after Nov 1. Sorry, just asking for the clarification.
My daughter's study permit was approved in December 2023 until end of 2025 since she has applied for a bundle course. First course completed in September 2024. Her second course will be starting in January 2025. Will this new rules effects her PGW. Thanks .
