With a swapped 350 V-8 and six-speed transmission, the big question is, will they be able to make it faster each day or even finish the race at all?

We all know the situation.
This was 2022, I was a participant! On the final day on Friday I tried a hero pass and had a nitrous backfire. Blew my truck intake apart and spent three days at the track working on it. Glued it back together and fired it up only to hear a bolt bouncing around in a cylinder. My wife drove all the way from East Texas, we rented a uhaul trailer loaded it up and hauled it home. Two years later, I have had 9 surgeries, the last being an amputation of my right foot. The truck is still sitting in my driveway with the hurt motor. But I am still glad to have done it!
We're used to a trigger throttle on an xbox controller, I wonder if a trigger throttle mounted to the steering wheel is also a thing? Rock on dude.
I hear stories like these, and I wanna come to Texas and fix it for you, and get you back on the loud pedal with yer stump!

I asked an old timer if he knew how to break in a clutch super fast you qualify sat race sunday i was #3 qualifier, so he said sure and i quote, he told me to to turn around in the face back window and push the clutch in and out 500 times, once done wait 20mins and repeat, i was 19 very tired getting car i ended up by grace of god won the even, at the end i asked him why did i have to do that backwarsa, he said well i didnt think you would actually do it backwards, better yet i didnt think u would belive me on that bullshit of pushing clutch in and out 1000 times

I loved this era of firebird when they came out. Mostly because the 200mph Gale Banks with the Gotti wheels on it, but hey... Of course NO Firebird will touch my heart like the 1970-1978 models. Sorry 79-81, but you were ugly from the second they changed the header panel. They ruined my dream car, haha.

I'm from Michigan and live here now, but I was in south Georgia in the Air Force in the early 80's. I had a 69 chevelle and I traded a 71 rust free Torino, 71 vw squareback and a fiat just for a good motor. 76 Trans am. Wish I still had them
My jeep liberty runs 14.8 in quarter according to multiple drag apps with 244k on the odometer and minimum of 204k on the replacement engine I put in last year.

I had 2 3rd gen Camaros when I was younger and they both had the factory 9 bolt rear end and from what I know about the 3rd gen Camaro is they came with the 9 bolt if it was a v6
I'm pretty sure all of the aussie 9 bolt rear ends have disc brakes where the 10 bolt has drums on these 3rd gens.

Yes, it is a Corvette-style pull-clutch. My 1988 IROC had the 1st ever conversion from 700r4 to T-56 6-speed, back in the early 1990s. He used a braided hydraulic line set-up from the Corvette of the time. In stock form, the ZF6 uses a "Pull style" clutch, similar to the LT1-T56 transmission. The only difference is, a ZF6 does NOT use a sprung hub clutch disc, but rather uses a dual-mass flywheel with integrated springs between the mounting surface and the friction surface. Centerforce had to make me a special 6-puck Kevlar clutch, us my SC 383 was smoking their "racing" clutch.
