here's how fast time goes: I was downloading this dude and Moon's replays over half my life ago to learn the game.
I still remember the excitement playing and winning my first 2on2 Bnetgame on the first day of release of RoC! I was 13 :D I played many many computer games, but no game excited me as much as War3 until today!

Great Kodo adjustment in the first match. Hap Seems to love/hate your Kodos. Seems like he over focuses them (rightly so) and so you can lose them early. You kept them further back those later fights and then brought them in mid fight to monch, maintaining the aura and allowing him less resources to nuke them. Seemed really strong. Great adjustments on the fly vs a world class oppo. Watching you and the other WC3 masters play is a true joy and learning experience. Thank you for sharing
Also can we address the tension of happy just sitting in his base for so long!?!
Question from ignorance: how are kodos useful? They don't seem to make much damage, are slow as hell and take ages to eat anything, then they have to run and usually get killed before they digest the unit. From outside, it looks to me like units that go to waste 90% of the time.
@@sergiorodrigoroyo5079 they have a lot of HP so to kill them takes a lot of resources (mana/time), but if you don't kill the kodo all the enemy army has a bonus % of damage (it IS a big deal). Just that fact alone makes the kodo a great unit. doesn't matter if it's slow or does low dps.
and the munch ability is a plus, a really good one btw.
interesting fact: when you munch an enemy unit, it still uses their food(until fully devoured). i have seen a match where an orc ate 5-7 mountain giants, the NE had food cap and his army was still really small.
@@axelpio9446 Thanks for explaining. I forgot about the damage bonus. Now I see why top players go after kodos that hard.
@@sergiorodrigoroyo5079 Small damage yes, but they have an aura that boosts the damage of the whole squad, including heroes, which include BM crits. Then if they can get a gobble off, they cc the unit the entire time the unit is in them, and if they get away, it's a free kill. The enemy has to respond or sack a unit and allow the whole team to be stronger.
Sometimes i feel like i want to play WC just to know whats going on. And appreciate the skills of those players. All i know about this game is from my childhood and i just watch grubby with no idea anout whats going on lol
Try watching some back2warcraft games u will understand a lot about what's going on in 1v1

Another chess-like analysis, impressive and unexpected for me how precise can be a judgement of the situation in W3... exactly like in chess :D

@@johncharles3907 I know... but still I wouldn't expect detailed analyses after, what can be done better (like analyzing own chess games, openings, endgames, etc)... and how one side resign in half-game, like in chess if you lose a piece and still don't' have initiative, etc...
@@MordimersChessChannel I would say that the main difference is that in warcraft luck takes a much important role than chess (items for example), but as a chess and w3 player i could also say that they have a very similar idea, after all, both games are a war, what i find very sad is that reforged could have brought much more people to play if it was good, but you all know how it ended :/
@@benjamorel8760 Yeah, there is a bit of luck... but it's rare to get some unique set of items that really overpower the situation. Maybe equivalent in chess would be an opponent who goes straight into your opening preparation, haha...
I don't really follow WC3, I am rather casual who struggle in the last mission of WC3 on hard difficulty but had decent games against noobs friends. All the precision of the openings here is amazing for me. Build 2,5 peon and wait 3 clicks to start the Altar, wtf :D What was wrong with reforged?

just feeling like at 12:00 mins grubs turns a switch on; like its business mode. from there just seems like a building and building of confidence and game play to win
Currently Grubby has a 33% winrate vs Happy on w3champions (considering all 3 Happy's accounts), which is very impressive!
i think grubby has improved a lot since, so i don't even take in account old stats
@@axelpio9446 Forgot to mention that I am talking about stats of this season, these are recent. Also I checked to see that Grubby indeed improved a lot since stats for last season were 0:7 in Happy's favour :o (across 3 Happy's accounts again combined)

i recently saw a video from about 3 years ago, Grubby/ToD against some human/NE duo i think..
i could see that ToD played pretty much the same, but Grubby had nothing to do with how he plays today..
fun fact: i recall Grubby calling ToD "master" or "sensei" something like that..

@@renannascimento8750 going by prize money its 2x better than tod - but tod did not participate in some tournaments because of the conditions he would have to play in... dunno of grubby did the same
they are both great players, but grubby has a more respectful and adult approach than tod

I understand it is balanced and that Happy is ungodly good but I've always had an issue with coil+nova+orb+curse. It seems so freakin hard to stay alive against. Especially since it is a ranged attack. Anywho, awesome play by Grubster!!
It’s very unbalanced in favor of orc right now. Basically, happy is so much better than everyone else that the game has been balanced around him lately. If happy was maining orc and grubby ud, this would be so one sided you wouldn’t see this the same way.

Yes, good job well done. Overall, Grubby > FLY as an overall Orc, but Fly does have a consistent 70% Win over Happy. Again, not saying Fly is better than Grubby in all aspects, but Grub can definitely learn a few things from other player's style

@@MrDaldagnuur yeah.. tbh maybe Happy had in mind that Grubby is a GREAT doctor player.. so he knew that if he made 1 shade, would mean Grubby making a few doctors = shade dead, vision control in all map for Grub, stasis and healing wards..
EDIT: Happy could still have shades scatered around, or in Grubby's base.

the enemy has way more apm than grubby, since happy instandly kills the 1. u may think hed do the same with 2nd and 3. - but he as more clicks in a minute than grubstar - thus not using them was maybe wise? i dunno - like if grubby had 2 clicks more in the same fight probably it would be better to use it

grubby is more balanced, detail oriented. He always plays safely. Happy is better at micro, like Fly.
Yeah but sometimes it's a bit boring because he avoids fights a lot but Grubbs's potential is always amongst the best in the world.

Happy's micro is crappy crap, it's sad to see him (or any player) focus fire 1 unit after the other like a beginner WC3 player in campaign. Grubby just moves the unit away until Happy can't reach it anymore and targets another random unit to focus fire. Even the coil/nova double nukes are so sad desperate. Without Orb of Corruption, Happy is a totally lost player
@@tynao2029 Really? That's how UD is played buddy. You need to focus because you can't crit for 300 with a BD while your army is on A click. And Happy pulls back his units too. I think you're trolling. Look at Happy's 80 food fights, he smashes his opponents. His micro is par none in fights.
@@Beiskraft yeh you're right that's how UD is played, so it takes less micro, you can see how much harder and more micro Grubby needs just to kill 1 unit, while UD just focus fire 1 unit with no micro. Grubby's micro is insane getting those Trolls out before they can die, it literally takes like 1 second of Orb of corrupt + fiend attack to kill the troll berserkers and Grubb has to move every single unit out in lightning time. It's a huge challenge for Grubby or any Orc and not much challenge at all for UD for easy 3x DPS of orc
