Obsolutly beautiful. I can't say it enough your work makes me feel things again. I've been pretty dead inside for a while now, and your videos just bring up emotions that I haven't felt in a while. I absolutely love your work and how you and videos present the process.
as much as I enjoy your larger projects and the several part series... I enjoy these small projects and the storytelling with it as well. thank you for the experience
The way you speak about your process is as wonderful as the piece itself. Your attention to detail, and the sheer reverence for the materials and forces you're working with is inspiring to watch.
Its amazing to listen as you explain the way to forg another beautiful piece of work, you have an incredible voice, and skills in steel work, I could listen to you speak for hours, as always thank you for sharing your craft and talents, your an inspiration to all of us, 👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘Cheers from Melbourne Australia
Your videos give me feelings. You're a blacksmith and a wizard. Idk what it is, the beautiful metal work, the music, your fantastic voice or just everything but wow
Max they way you explain everything through this is just perfect. This peace is beautiful. I wanted to make a burning bowl for my wife but never had found the right way to get it done. But after watching this now I might have a idea on how to do it. I'm going to have to make a other tool just to do it. But perfect expectations on how careful you would have to be. I would love to to see more stuff like this, and I can't wait for more updates on the Valhalla doors. I learn so much just from watching ur videos.
Great Work Max! you are a very talented smith. Your work inspires me to create new things! your knowledge of the medieval doors and locks is fascinating. If you ever run into a job that requires building smaller scale locks please make a video of it. Keep On with your awesomeness!!
As a complete novice who has never forged anything but am super keen to start experimenting, what would be your advice as a place/material to start with ?
@@nickmercer3130 Rebar is a great start! It's usually just thrown away on concrete jobsites. The crew will usually just give it to you! Free or cheap material is a great place to start because the pressure is really low!
When you trade work, you get to think about the other person. The person you have a more than customers/maker relationship with. It's more like making something for a friend. I love it.
I really love your work man everything you built is just to beautiful and elegant I’ve always wanted to try so I’ve decided to give it a go and so far am loving it I am planing on joining your apprentice program at some point it’s just a struggle as I work full time also so thank you keep up the amazing work
I really like that dishing swage you made. I do a lot of bowls using what I call the "Steel Puck of Awesomeness", something my father made for me as one of his first metal lathe projects. It works wonderfully, as the name implies, but there's always a need for more tools in the smithy and I could see me adding one of those bottomless holes as a swage block for doing larger dishing.
@@Max_Randolph_Studios Things are tight right now, but it's definitely on the list. I've got a few big bowls that I'd like to make and that bottomless swage of yours looks like it'd be very useful. And fun!
Max amazing work my friend. This project forged out very unique and very beautiful design. Can't wait to see more videos soon my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend Max. Forge On. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God bless.
Love this piece. Question, you run a torch over the weld joint until it scales? I was wondering what to do with the welds that would be "out of place" on a forged piece. Does doing this blend it in? And would you grind off most of the weld first then torch?
Man I would love to know a blacksmith near me. A person/place I could hang out at learn I was going to take a class but I can’t find one in my area unfortunately.
@@Max_Randolph_Studios I’m really enjoying what I can do. It’s taken me about a month to get a RR spike down to a knife blade size. I had to stretch the tang out today and got a successful heat treat. Now on to a few trips to the belt grinder to finish it off. I’m definitely going to need to find some thinner stock and a couple pair of tongs. My current selection just ain’t cutting it and is causing extra work.

How does this not have millions of views, the intro alone is sick. You will go far my man, Godspeed

I personally love small things like this. It gives me ideas of what I can do in my own shop.
Absolutely!! You can totally make this in your shop!
Your work is amazing brother, so much respect for the talent oozing out of you 🙏 I would love to see more about the Valhalla doors

My guy has a voice like butter. 👍 love your work. More small project to fill between the big one, like your take on a goblet.
Thank you so much Kris! A goblet is a wonderful idea!
Great job Max. The story and your animation in telling it went hand in hand with the forge creation. Well done.
Thank you so much!
Beautiful work, artfully done both bowl and video. 👏👏👏
I really appreciate that Wayne!

FANTASTIC question! Yes! Grind first, then heat and blend. I try to keep welding as minimal as possible, but sometimes it's necessary
👍👍👍👍
😁😁😁
Hey Max, Do you listen to things while you build? Or do you just dive in and focus?
Oh defintely! I'm constantly listening to music and compositions!

Blacksmiths are pretty rare, but there are more people picking up the trade everyday!
