- Pink Floyd - A saucerful of secrets (Ummagumma version)
4th part (Celestial voices) only.
For those who wanna play along here are the chords:
Bm - A - E - F# - D - G - E - A - F#
Bm - G - F# - Em - D - F#
final chord: B
What a serious piece of music and written by 22-25 years old musicians. Fantastic!
At that age I was certainly nowhere close to being able to write something like that and surely never will 🤣 Massive respect for these amazing artists.
JS Bach would surely have been proud of Rick Wright after hearing this masterpiece...
This is the ultimate GENIOUS version of the best piece of music ever made by mankind.
Rest in peace, Rick; beiing co-founder of Pink Floyd is enough to deserve your place in heaven.
No, it's not. No one is saved from sin & death by their works. Nice sentiment, but seems to speak of a held theology that is not just erroneous, but deadly. Believe the gospel of Jesus Christ & be saved from sin & death... he will come into a heart & change it if a man but seeks after righteouness through him.
this music joins the men's genius with the inner harmony and intelligence of the Universe!!!
Let's not forget their Genitalia, they deserve honorable mention.....
Listen closely, I feel the bass is actually playing the lead in this version, which I think is the best version of this song.
That's a wonderful description :)
This is THE BEST instrumental EVER!
I preferred this version over Pompeii.
Yes of course Yes!!! even if Pompei's version is fine, this one is stratospheric, in a state of Grace. Wright's keyboard and Waters bass are at the top, this version is huge, a unique moment of music and fullness
this band has changed my life in so many ways. they are so amazing. i can feel every one of their songs.
I was 15 when UmmaGumma came out, this song swept me complete of my feet, touched me deep inside, feels like finding an old friend again, so many good memories, thanks so much for posting
This whole bit is a crescendo..... louder, louder, and a little louder all the way to the eargasmic climax......
sooo sweet
One of my favourite floyd's song... It made me cry when i was younger... Gilmour has such a wonderful voice here ; i'd give my life to come back in time and see that live :(
when i saw them on the Atom Heart Mother Hyde Park concert Roger did the vocals.Rest in peace Rick and thank you.
My favorite part of the song, I have never heard anyone get such a beautiful sound from an organ as Rick does in this song. Everytime I listen to the whole "Saucerful..." I am surprised by how great it sounds when the organ enters towards the end of the song. Doesn't matter how many times I listen to it, I'm still blown away ^^
Love this version too, used to listen before go to sleep on daily basis, just for the organ.
IMHO the melody line of the organ in this version fall somewhere between the organ in studio version and the melody line at the end of the track "Cirrus Minor".
this is my fav keys version of the song by far... especially the polyrhythmic playing.
A really emotionally thouching and thought provoking song. The build is amazing. Well done to Pink Floyd.
Finally found it at long last this will be used for my funeral when ever I leave this world classic of all times💪
My first floyd album I was 15.1968
I too have cried to it...still do...and I am not even that young now.
PF -- The immortals Bach & Mozart are proud of Floyd
Beste nummer ooit van Pink Floyd
Just love this song! 😃😃😃😃😃
Peter Jim Ingham No, you love this note. There is no song.
+Tim Goldich There's always somebody more intelligent than the others, isn't it? Anyway the term 'song' in music is also referred to 'instrumental pieces that share same form with sung ones'. See italian 'Canzona' for various instrumental ensembles, or french 'chanson', or english renaissance 'songs'.... Have a nice week.
best version ever! a trip in mind soul heart!
This make me realise that while many die around me I am a survivor
geatest floyd song ever, every redition the floyd this with this song is amazing
When I've learned to play this, it will be tastefully loud !
The amazzing thing about this song is that it's just the same chord progression over and over, and it stills sound so unique and varied.
i could play this in my funeral
They wrote it about the pandemic of 2020
I plan on getting someone else to have this played at my own funeral. (Being as how difficult it would be to play it myself)
Same here, but we're talking 33 years. After years of neglect I'm beginning to listen to the Floyd again. A beautiful piece.
I listented to this song about 5 times the day I graduated from High School, along with "Heart Of Gold"by Neil Young, welcome to the real world... Still brings tears and memories to my eyes to listen to either song.
I haven't heard this song for 23 years. Thanks for uploading this. The last time I heard this song I was 17 and had a lot of questions for this world. Today I listen to it with a lot of answers but the song never changed.
Uno dei motivi per i quali vivere
I'm 16, and I love Pink Floyd !!
I used to think that this is the end of the exploration of the cave under Oak Island (Atlantis): the burial chamber in which the King of Atlantis, king of harmony and spiritual majesty, proudly walked to go and sit on his throne in order to die solemnly. It's a novel by Italian journalist and writer Mino Milani and I find it fits perfectly with this music (also the drums of this song remember me the pendulum, the big watch-tower that is the main monument in the novel plot).
IDK why but for some reason PF's music is so transcendental that i feel like i know these guys and they are on the journey with me an they are always around when i need a hand...n thier music is that extra hand that both inspires an relaxes my racing mind and helps clear the cobwebs that tv and otherwise this modern day lifestyle has attempted to force upon me. Thanks FLoyd! an your legend will live on as long as the human race survives.
Maravilhoso trabalho do PF, num disco magestoso.
Have recently taped this from vinyl to cassette, then played it LOUD from Walkman in our Ridgeline! Fantastic!
I used to put on my headphones and crank up the volume and just drift off on this song. Great tune.
This song makes me choked up every time I hear it... and I don't know why.
I was 17 in 1970, and it was somewhat of a crazy time. My favourite group for dropping cid with.....
That a truely outstanding perfomance from Pink Floyd again...This band optimize what you can do with music and were the best in the business at it. Memories will on from Earls Court in 94.
Ni betoven,ni mozart,ni subert ni vivaldi,pink floyd,los mejores musicos,infinitos,maravillosos.....
Of the 4 versions I know of this masterpiece, the original 1968 Saucerful of secrets album, the ummagumma double album, the Kralingen concert and the Pompei recording, I like this one best and by far above all others. Keyboards, bass, drums, guitar and vocals are ALL absolutely stunning and incredibly powerful. My period vinyl I played over and over is quite used, and this adds hard
and rough feeling to this extraordinary piece of music.
I cannot stop listening to this. I'm completely hypnotised..
*Greatest music!* 👍
always been the best version of this song. pompeii doesnt even come close.
Truly an amazing piece of music. I've been a Floyd fan for 3 years now and I gotta say they are still number one in my heart.
I love the Pompeii version of this song and also Echoes🤘🏼
The Celestial voices❤
This should be the last song request if there is ever a rogue black hole around here. Either way, we are still falling into death. This is a good song to end on!
most pretty moment in floyd history
all versions of this are a mindblow
Davids greatest vocal performance hands down for me
i want this song played at my funeral( if i have one)- wonder if they playe dit a rick's funeral- too sad for words
look up "saucerful of secrets interstellar encore" the good part of the song is part two for whats on youtube.
oh ja i was a young girl in Spain in France - I am old now - but when I hear this - tears apppering my cheet - greatings from vienna Austria
JS Bach would have been so proud of Rick Wright on this one. Genius.
I too wish I would be 16 back in the 70's and not 16 now I also wish all teens will listen to real music and not today's crap
There is hope for the future of mankind and music.
Perfect
Same as "1981Badfish" my Dad was into this but in my case mom was with it too. When getting older i always recognised a track by melody as i thought it was the first time i played it i knew what was comming.. probably when i was an embryo this went as "echoes" trough moms little belly ;)
So in this case i'm born with.. and this is THE track that will be played when i leave/left this earth.. Doesn't matter if it's the live or studio version..
PF
My favourite version of ASOS
Never before had a wordless song said so much...
A journey into the melancholic side of the mind.
I want this for my funerals
Awesome man.You made the right choice buying that Album.
This song is the reason why my favorite album is Ummagumma
I have a strange imagination but I've oftened pictured this song playing loudly when the world comes to it's end, entire continents getting swamped in rising sea levels, meteors crashing down in true dystopian fashion, fire and brimstone ravishing the planet until it is a smouldering sphere where the life it once knew has permanantly vanished, all of this happening in the space of 5 minutes and 25 seconds which is the length of celestial voices
Unrivalled, fantastic song!!
Nice pics! Never get tired of this track! :)
RICK GRANDE FLOYD IN THE SKY LEGENDS 💙
AMAZING in capital letters, absolutely amazing
Pink Floyd PRA SEMPRE!!!
Sublime. Ah those were the days...
My god, makes my cry everytime... dawm -_-' :p
i cant stop listening, i wish i had more ears to please
@bughead3 What you just said is dark and mysterious. I feel like it embodies those people you see walk by or standing by themselves with that look in their eyes that lets you know theres something more underneath. like a person who truly believe in his miserable existence that is life. like the start of some sad movie man.
@uberninja56 Yes, this is early Pink Floyd, and Ummagumma it's a double disc album from Pink Floyd released in 1969. The first disc includes live versions of some of their songs, while the second disc has new studio songs, which were pretty avant-garde and experimental.
on the pompeii version? it's right here on youtube my friend:) search for it
Oh my God, this song is so beautiful
It'S Not only your God,
heißt my god, too!
Mescaline was the big thing right then, and they had a big screen behind them with kalidescopic colors moving, and I'd never heard anything so loud and yet so grand , when I was 16, in 1970, at the Electric Factory, in Philadelphia!!!
make me cry..... everytime
stay the course, little number dude. music, and art, and life should all be inspiring. A lot of peope think you have to take drugs to make up inspired music, but not true at all. the creativity is already in you. lucky for you, you can find more great music, and art, and literature out here on the net much easier than the old way. sounds to me like you'll make it. be strong. be true. may you stay forever young.
It is there anything better than this masterpiece?
Wtf, Glimours vocals are so fucking strong, for a baritone he is singing G4’s like nothing
I love this!
Blissful, especially to strum a prize telecaster along with the boys.
50 years ago today
MITICI ☆☆☆☆☆ 👉🎸🎹👈
This fucking music is genius and was inspired by the highest level of awareness there is I swear to God, as God is me But I am not God, we are all one and When I start my church Pink Floyd will be the music we use :)
Originally known as "The Massed Gadgets of Hercules" What we hear are the last two structures of a the four part theme. part #3: Storm Signal (represents the view of the dead after the battle has ended) and part #4: Celestial Voices (representing the mourning of the dead). ---- Part #1: Something Else represents the setup of the battle and Part #2: Syncopated Pandemonium represents the actual battle. These were all based from their 1969 tour The Man and His Journey. Peace. LONG LIVE SYD!!!!
God is revealed through them... IT`S DIVINE!!!
I used to end every drinking session with this song..lights out, eyes closed and my life would pass before my eyes in the most beautiful and surreal way and then I would wake up and go eat frozen pizza and let my dog out to pee and wish I was sitting in the ancient ruins of Pompeii instead of anytown USA.
I enjoy how the Hammond sounds in this one.
absolutamente pura crema y nada mas!!!!!
I cried too ...
am I the only one who's stolen away by such a dragging perfect drummin'?
I like how you can turn the lights on or off.
Goosebump certified....
Oh my god...i feel you bro....And i feel very sorry for the new generation.
MAGNIFICO CAPOLAVORO!!!
Grande pezzo!!!!!!!!
@nomercudiablo i listen pink floyd by miself since i was 15 and im 17 and i know a lot of teens that listen pink floyd, dont worry, music like this will come again and will be appreciated.
@Pinback71
This is his Farfisa Compact Duo (See the version on my channel for more info) and on Pompeii he's using the Hammond M102.
