- Hi Folks!
Enjoy Episode 3 of my New 6 Part Series - 60 Days Solo in the White Wilderness.
Follow me solo camping with the dogs exploring wild and untouched Newfoundland & Labrador winter wilderness.
The 1st month-long expedition is coming to an end. Justin and the dogs continue to tour the first-class Bay Du Nord Wilderness Reserve. Rations are getting low so Justin hopes for fish, rabbits or grouse to help keep bellies from getting too hungry.
I will air a new episode every Friday until the series is over.

Justin Barbour goes on a long expedition through Newfoundland & Labrador’s most remote woods with his dogs Saku and Bear. There is first class-rarely seen wilderness galore. Together the companions explore, challenge themselves and kick back by the fire. The peace, beauty and unpredictability of nature is all around them.
This series consists of 2 winter expeditions covering 250 kilometres. The first begins in Newfoundland as Justin and the dogs venture into the faraway interior woods for a month. Justin moves by snowshoes and hauls a 250lb toboggan. The team pushes their way towards the vast 2,895km2 Bay Du Nord Wilderness Reserve.
The goal is to explore the province's vast, uninhabited winter woods and frozen waterways. But it will not be easy. It's hard work all the way but with it come rewards bigger than most can imagine!
Be prepared to feel the elements, taste a true wilderness journey, and travel the old way leaving the motors behind.
The adventure begins!
** A video showing an in-depth overview of the expeditions outfit will air once the series is over. If this 7th episode interests you keep on the lookout for it.

Its just wrong that only 58K people are subscribed to this channel. It's one of the best ones out there. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures Justin!
The several month long breaks and he also is on tv
Totally agree.
In an effort to increase subscribers.. Share an NL EXPLORER video to your Facebook friends page or messenger..ask them to Subscribe. Also mention Justin's Channel on other UA-camr's Channels. Ex: Alone. Joe mentioned Justin on his channel and asked us to Subscribe to NL EXPLORER and.. I did.
Isn't that subscriber number climbing though? Seems like it.
I agree. There are many YT channels that are about ‘wild camping’ and most are filmed practically in there own back yards or farmer’s fields.
It was a pleasure meeting you and your beautiful pups that day. Great episode as usual.
Great meet Fred! Until next time. Take care keeper going
Thanks to you, and the rest of the Rangers, for your service- God Bless.

Another beauty episode. Love your content 🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇😎
You can eat most pine needles. you already said birch buds for eating but poplar buds are good too. snare a crow, they are nice and clean in the bush. bring pliers or smash the rabbit bones for more nutrition. Does cat-tail grow up there? you can make bannock out of that.
Had to watch again them rabbit pens snared me back in
Simply amazing adventure! Wow on the amount of rabbits you caught! I’ve never seen that kind of snare setup before. Worked great. I so look forward to the next adventure as you are THE TOP OF THE CHARTS for this kind of wilderness experiences. Say hi to Heather. She must be an amazing women!

How cool, running into those Rangers, that had to flip ya out. lol, it would of me. Did you give up toking the pipe, or is it too cold, just a warmer weather habit? I toke on a cheap corn cop every now an again. Great series Justin- 👍

The real trick to that fishing is to not cheap out on the brand of hockey stick. Really makes a difference ask any scorer lol.
Nice post 👍 lol
Haha! That's a Sherwood classic wooden twig circa 2005. Composites were like rare a diamond then. ATB Stan

Thanks Jack happy to have you subbed for the journeys, take care keeper going 👍
I had not seen that snaring setup before. Luring the bunnies never occurred to me or the fellow who taught me how. Just set the snares on a trail and hope. Nice tip. Looking forward to the Labrador trip!
Love you trips thanks for taking us along
Love this.... we grew up on wild meat, Justin.. We were so poor, living in our little village in Northern Alberta. Dad would go out hunting all the time, summer and winter. Mom cooked up everything he brought home into the most delicious meals. Fond memories. And the music!! Mon Dieu!
Material wealth is not always a measure of happiness. Mother nature had provided your family with food instead of the supermarket.
Justin,
As your projects grow, I hope you never take for granted your ability for wordplay.Your adventures are soothing, but your narration is the magic. The story telling is impeccable. I've been digging through your channel and it just keeps getting better. Cinematographer, editor, writer, musical scorer, all in one. Thank you, I appreciate you.
Great job you three! Entertaining and inspirational to watch as always. Take care Barbour's.
Just getting back into it after little break away to look after some things .....great video Justin. Beautiful scenery...
Never seen a rabbit pen snare cool setup,13 when my uncle taught me how to snare and clean game, the snowshoe Hustle
