Items that are not acceptable to perform tayammum on include : Wood Metal Glass Food items Anything that burns to ash or melts
Not necessarily if only water is not available, yes you do tayammum if there’s no water or if there is water but not much to quench your thirst for a while, you also do tayammum for other things such as if you have a cast on for example due to a broken bone and water is harmful, etc

Before I ask I do not mean any disrespect towards the deen or our Ummah or the sunnah but isn’t wiping dirt on ourselves to perform Wudu defeating the purpose of cleansing ones self?? Wa alaikum assalam, Thank you for your valuable comment. You're question is indeed interesting and important. I just wanted to clarify a few things. 1. Taharah and Najasah is one thing, Cleanliness and Dirtiness is another. They dont necessarily need to join, and they can be different. 2. Wudhu is a ritual of purification, and not cleaning. Although when using water for wudhu one could become clean, but the purpose for wudhu is ritual purification. 3. For tayammum, the dirt, or soil, or anything else that is permissible to use for tayammum is not "dirty". The amount used is also very little, no trace is left on forehead or hands. 4. Dirt and dirty are different. Dirt as in soil is not "dirty". It is a natural element, used as an alternative to water, and we are always with soil in our gardens and plants. Please write back if you have any further comments.
I have water where i work but it is very inconvenient to go for Wudu....specially winter time we are wearing alot of different layers plus hard to leave work sometimes....Can i do Taymmum than???
Inconvenience is basically an excuse, tayammum is meant for ease in difficulty like when water is completely unavailable or causing serious harm to our body .... Better keep a spray bottle and go.for wajib wuduu so you can do it easily without leaving your work place

I have been praying in my room while my father prays in the other. Is this either haram or makrooh? From what I have read, you will only gain the reward of congregation if it is prayed in the mosque. I can tell you in many ways we are Muslims but this was the easiest way. If I would have proved our innocence through other ways you would have believed . Please Brother do research from our books and try to know our believes then only you will be able to understand a shia .
