I’ve always been warned against you shaikh since 25 years by the Salafi brothers who knew you very well years ago. But it’s very clear that you started way back in those days to look for the truth more and more up until you arrived at the most purest and balanced form of Islaam, traditional Sunni Mainstream Islaam. I’ve reached this now after been indoctrinated and brainwashed hardcore for 25 years. I travelled to study in the Yemen to the institute of Shaikh Muqbil al-Waadi’ee, to Egypt then back to the Yemen for nearly 2 years, to Makkah to sit with scholars in the Haram for a year including sitting with Shaikh Rabee al-Mad’khali, then went later to teach English in KSA for 10 years as a way to be around the scholars. I went through hell in a toxic marriage and took me time to recover but since I’ve got back to normal I’ve been revising and relearning everything. I’ve seen massive flaws and contradictions inside the circle of the modern day Salafis. I thought how can they be Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah when they are so split up amongst themselves and keep splitting up more and more? So I started my research and asked Allah SWT to guide me along the way. I also asked my father to pray for me in Umrah and when visiting al-Quds. Eventually I’m realising I’ve learnt many things in completely the wrong way. It’s been a long journey and nothing compared to what Salman al-Farsi went through in his search for the truth. There are many Salafis who are moderate and not happy with the situation of the Salafis and not in agreement with the extreme cultish boycotting. I think they are ripe to be spoken with. They are fed up. I know they’re mentality through and through. I hope I can fix myself up then try with them. But I need insight from the likes of yourself. I’d love to visit you Shaikh soon and chat to you. It seems that the Salafis are eating each other up and the traditional mainstream Sunni Islaam is picking up a lot of pace. It’s the Islaam that produced the generation of Salaah ud-Deen al-Ayoobi. I’m happy and feel blessed to have been guided by Allah and it’s a rare thing to happen in situations like mine. It’s sad I missed out a lot in the past 25 years. There’s a lot of character problems in general within the Salafis too. Their Aqeedah has a lot of problems and contradictions, their Fiqh is very inconsistent and messy, they have a very minimal amount of attention to the purification of the soul, they are nurtured to criticise almost everything and label very quickly to the face or behind the back and warn and boycott. They have thrown out the baby with the bath water as far as Tasawwuf is concerned just because some Soofis do deviant or errors. As if there are no deviants or errors made by Muslims in all other subjects and sciences of Islaam. How can it be that the Pillar of Ih’saan is the highest pillar of Islaam and not be collected and organised and coded and explained like other sciences of Islaam? It’s absurd thinking. It’s very destructive thinking and deprives the Muslim of a large portion of their Deen and never will the Ummah rise up without deep understanding and practise of Ih’saan. May Allah forgive us for our shortcomings and bless us to learn pure traditional Sunni Islaam. Jzkl Shaikh as you clearly put the pleasure of Allah and wanting to traverse the Haqq above what others around you those days thought and were calling to. Allahumma Baarik Feek wa fi Ahlik. Hope to come sit with you soon

Thank you for sharing this! I've also personally had some doubts regarding the different sunni sects.

I don't understand what the sheikh is saying here actually, are we to dance around in circles gather in big groups with an Imaam leading us while we make thikr, are we to have a stayed? This is quite confusing, I understand that taskiyah has its roll in our Deen but a lot of what we see practised by the Sufi's has no trace back to what was done, recommend or authorized by our Prophet peace be upon him. So how do we perform the correct taskiyah /tasowuf without us committing an act that might be considered an innovation.
