A correction on poison nova + River of Flame, yes the River of Flame is nearby both the surface and subsurface as it is a site, but when casting any spell you must pick a region to cast that spell in. This means that the Poison Nova cast from the River of Flame could kill either a nearby buried Bats or a surface Bats but not both at the same time
Very good point!
yep, correction on this one.
Welcome back, Haine! Always good to see the OGs.
Thanks! Haven't seen you for long too lol.
MtG has the Professor but we have the Wizard 😎
I hope I get a better recording studio like the prof lol
I mean he built it up over the years. So you still have time 👍
Nice to see you back Haine, excited for your upcoming content!
Coming soon! Within this week!
Good video Haine. Welcome back!
Thanks!
Love this series! Thanks haine. Looking forward to this other content!
I hope I will be able to release it soon!
It would be really awesome if you played into the wizard name like the professor does! It would be a huge asset to your channel and lead to a heap of extra views for fun! 😊 🔥
Interesting suggestion! So what should I call myself, the wizard?
This would be awesome 😂
@@wizardsden666yesss!
So helpful, more please
More to come!
Another amazing video, love all of your content and cant wait for more!
I have a clarification question related to #9 ( 5:48 ). Would it not be the case that grapple shot would actually allow you to move said minion because of the golden rule (when a card text contradicts the rulebook the card takes precedent)? I agree that you would certainly not be able to use activated abilities, but with grapple shot being a spell cast on the minion I feel like the card text would take precedent. What are your thoughts?
There was a very long discussion about this in the Sorcery League discord server along with the rules channel in the main discord channel. The main consensus came down to whether the unit was shooting the projectile from grapple shot or the avatar was somehow shooting the projectile, it was decided that it was and the definition of disabled says that minions can't shoot projectiles. Its a good point to think about the golden rule, but if we applied the golden rule here, it would be the same as a spell telling a minion to take a step and letting a disabled or immobile minion do that because the golden rule says the card takes precedence.
Thanks! More will come!
The thing with Sorcery is that the ruling for precedence is missing. The ruling for precedence is: when a rule or effect allows or directs something to happen, and another effect states that it can’t happen, the “can’t” effect takes precedence. This is typically combined with the Golden rule but this element is missing (I don't know why they omit that...). However, we do apply this ruling implicitly. For the spider + grapple case, the spider's disable should take precedence.
@@wizardsden666 and @zachbrown8303 excellent responses, I appreciate it! Definitely helps to clarify the card interactions in the context of the golden rule, as well as how to determine which card effect takes precedence in this scenario. Thanks so much!
Great stuff as always Haine 🍻
Thanks!
Can't wait for the "official" videos!
It will be shown next week!
Great content, is there anyway these FAQs came be documented into one sheet ‘ page(s) somewhere for future reference? Many thx.
Lot's of these are in the official Curiosa page!
@@wizardsden666 cool thx
The only one I missed was the grappleshot by a disabled unit, and that's just because I think it was ruled differently in the past.
Yep, you're right! It was a recent change as of around august
Yeah, it was different until recently!
Wonderfull video! Got all correct except 1!
Great job!
man, #10 is a super tricky one!
It is tricky for sure!
I thought "Skirmisher of Mu" could move and do a ranged attack. Also "Pudge Butcher" has a Tap ability, is it able to use this ability because it is not a basic ability?
The skirmishers of Mu have a specific ability to do ranged strikes while moving and you are correct about the pudge butcher
Thanks@@Zachattack8303
Skirmisher of Mu is slightly different as its a different as it an added ability and not an inherent range strike ability. Correct about the Pudge!
