I just watched the movie on UA-cam from 1940. Great acting and story. This tour was enlightening and wraps up the movie with the historical background. Thank you!
I remember going here and mentioning that a visit from Vincent Price would be great. He sadly died 7 years earlier. When I saw the VHS tape with the tour, I immediately bought it. This is the same content. Vincent sounds very fragile at this point. But he delivered a great narrative. Worth the price of admission also the price of the VHS. If not for Mr. Price and his 2 films about The House of the Seven Gables... I would not have gone through the effort to see this. A great experience, and the full tour later with Vincent made it that much better.
This is one of my very favorite books and I still read it from time to time. Loved the tour of the house and having Vincent Price narrate.😊 Thank you!!
Was just in salem and visited the house of the seven gables ,great tour and the guides tell great stories and it has a New England feel to it ,hope to come back again soon ,thanks for sharing ,
I remember when this was produced. My late husband Robert Shapiro headed this project under Forum Communication, Inc. Most of the outside video was taken by me, the interior was shot by our Camera Crew. Its a delight to see it is will being viewed.
this by far is one of the best video guides I have ever seen to screaming loud music cursing just a perfect video. I love Salem had been back there several times. I live in the south west and have visited almost every building there and would go back over and over again. We stayed in the Hawthorn Hotel and just enjoyed every inch of Salem. I wanted to live there but never got the chance to get the place I wanted now I am to old and just enjoy looking at the clips and remembering. Vincent Price was the best that is for sure. someday I will come back
When you've seen the movie it's wonderful to see the real house. Vinnies voice sounds a bit tired, I guess. The music is the score from dragonwyk, isn't it?
At this point in his life he'd been in the early stages of emphysema. His health issues caused him to retire, after 8 years, as the host of "Mystery!" on PBS in 1989. His health is the reason his final handful of film appearances (theatrical and made-for-TV) consist of brief, cameo roles. He eventually became diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease on top of the emphysema but he insisted on working and therefore embraced the audio side of his career. His voice-over jobs far out numbered his screen appearances during the last 5-10 years of his life.
Betty Parris and Abigail were suffering from something. Their accusations were not pranks. Unfortunately, some girls later did level spurious accusations for entertainment.

Never will there ever be anyone as true as Vincent price

One of my favorite actors
Vincent Price was top notch amazing.
I am going in 2 weeks as far as i know, this video was so spiritual it makes me want to go there even more.
I love the House of seven gables. It is a gorgeous house. It knows I love it.
Man this is priceless!!! Like a treasure chest of gold and diamonds!!! Thank you!!!
This needs to be in the Criterion Collection on Blu Ray or 4K. Hell I’d settle for DVD.
I will second that.
Interesting that the background music is the soundtrack from the film "Dragonwyck," in which Vincent Price also starred.
i am reading the book and i was thrilled to see the house
The most singular house I have ever seen besides General Lee's family home at Arlington.
The house knows that I love it. It wants me to visit again someday but financially I cannot come there I do not have the money to travel with.
Wonderful video just visited Salem this weekend!
Very well done. Thank you
I’d love to go back 😍

Thank you so much, Mr. connaisseur.
ACcountryFan I didn't know about his emphysema... thanks for the trivia info
Interesting
was that vincents' ghost ?
Who knows what Salem is?
Vincent sounds very frail.
It was a prank that two girls did that caused the witch hunt. The narrator is not being honest about it.
Betty Parris and Abigail were suffering from something. Their accusations were not pranks. Unfortunately, some girls later did level spurious accusations for entertainment.
so bougie...

Huh?
Watching this video put me into a coma. Hopefully I’ll come out of it soon. #MAGA
Go back on the Meth.
I know, it's much easier for you to remain ignorant than educated.
The video is not what caused your coma...maghat.
It almost put me to sleep. Good thing it wasn't that long.
