The Willow vs. Statlander match was awesome, especially in light of following an Ospreay match. I think there is a great comparison to be made to the Mone vs. Baker match at All In. Both followed incredible Ospreay matches, both in tough positions, but the body language was so different. Mone and Baker seemed deflated, like "How are we supposed to follow this?" and Willow and Statlander seemed just so defiant, like "Hell yeah, we are following THIS!".
Yeah, the cinder block spot with both Hangman's back getting shredded and then Swerve's back bending like a friggin Looney Tune character landing on an anvil were absurdly awesome and terrifying. 😄👍
They nailed the match order with this card. Like got every match 100% in the right position and show benefited. Whereas All In maybe wasn't ordered right
I had a blast with the PPV! I’ll admit some of the spots were a bit extreme for my tastes (I was ALMOST alright with the bag spot but seeing Yuta crying and struggling pushed it over the edge for me) but I’m glad they try this kind of thing. We don’t have a lot of real hardcore wrestling on mainstream promotions and I love that AEW tries to fill the gap a little for those fans. It just means that if/when I rewatch these matches I’ll fast-forward through certain spots 😅
August 28th the episode covering Danielson's title win the volume was really good. The past week+ it's been really really quiet and I can barely hear at max volume, I've tried multiple headphones and devices. It's the feed from the channel, please turn it up. Please, I don't really have much else to listen to while at work or doing things at home. Edit: something definitely shifted with the volume early into this episode and it seems a better than it has for days now. 😅👍
If you want to set the IWC on fire. Mercedes has to do the stone cold stunner. Two middle fingers and a stunner. It would get over and would make the IWC double over in agony
Or there was an altercation and it was a real scare not knowing exactly what was happening it wasn't a damm part of show unless your now saying Alvarez and meltzer have no idea what happens in aew lol
@@jordshuttlewood Meltzer gets worked ALOT by the boys like he has reported things that have been proven to be wrong, or he has reported things that are proven to be for story, and then he always claims after "I was in on it", I haven't seen Alvarez be worked in that way before but doesn't mean he hasn't been, and doesn't mean that he hasn't been this time. It seems odd that a wrestler not on the PPV would be filming a bit during the Danielson match and that all the security from the arena would run to the back leaving the ring unprotected from someone invading it (a real fan) and not just use the security who are clearly backstage, if you work backstage at an arena there are security everywhere.
Why is Whatculture so much quieter than other channels? I have to max my volume sometimes just to hear but every other channel needs like half the volume.
Art? You’re delusional it’s a reason why you don’t go this far because you have to keep going further and further. This recks of desperation and instead of building and relying on that build alone you forced to this and don’t get me wrong it work but where does it end?
@@morrellstaten670 that was the finale. That was the final scene. AEW doesnt have to go any farther. Swerve is off TV for a while ane hangman now has to live with the actions of this match forever. The reason that match was so shocking and brutal was because those spots dont ever happen. Its not like they're going to try to top that at the next PPV.
@1:08 whoever sent in that comment about hangman and Drew is crazy. There's nothing about Drew's heel turn that seems authentic or real. His motivation is weak and the whole Punk feud has sucked to high hell. It's like wwe is just wasting his time.

I think that’s more to do with time the fed as been around since 1963 so imagine if 100 people started to watch then and they had a minimum of one child that will be a minimum of 200 fans and so on and so fourth. AEW has only been around 5/6 years so they just have the die hard fan base but if you give them another 10/15 years of strongish storylines and same things they are doing now the ratings will surely grow
1:47 show starts

I like the fact that this hangman swerve rivalry started during hangman announcing a donation to the chicago schools charity

I wonder if they are going to tie Nigel into the BCC split.

This is one of the best recaps I’ve ever seen. Bravo guys!
Yuta should reluctantly stay with his trio and lose the title out of spite like hangman in the triple threat

Has anyone considered security all running to the back was to sell why no one intervened in Moxley putting a bag over BD head?
That was my first thought... leverage the backstage antics from prior shows, pull security so nobody's there to stop mox.

AEW is the A24 of wrestling. If you don't get it, I feel sorry for you because you are missing out on some real art.

Verbatim what sidgewick said about AEW "it's the A24 of wrestling"
Difference is, people watch A24 movies
Another fan of the podcast from Louisiana! Not a mailman though 😂
Willow Vs Statlander was really good. Was it my women's match of the year? Think that still goes to Mayu Iwatani Vs Sareee.
It’s easy to gimmick a plastic bag to make this safe,
im from louisiana also mr.postman
Is anyone still listening to Meltzer?
Audio is way too low 😢

The people are waking up that the bucks are a tired meme that most of the planet has outgrown.
Swerve deserves better
You did not fix the audio when you thought you did. It’s literally making me not watch these and that’s upsetting

mjf vs garcia 3.5/5
young bucks vs bcc 2/5

statlander vs nightingale 5/5
cassidy vs briscoe vs takeshita vs okada 3/5

What makes you give statlander vs nightingale 5/5🤔
@@joshbrown4528 oops, 4.5/5* only because i can re-watch it without super cringing like i did with "hangman" vs "swerve"
Why would you give any match 5 stars dosnt 5 of 5 suggest perfection? No I think great match for sure but some things were not perfect why not go 4.8

That's not really the point, the main point is that how isn't it hot, like why is not hot as compared to 2019,2020
