Apple Crumble Cake
For the Apples
6 apples
1 tablespoon maple syrup
3 tablespoons water
2 teaspoons cinnamon
For the Crumble
1 cup oats
1/2 cup almond flour or almond meal
1/2 cup chopped almonds, walnuts, or pecans
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup melted coconut oil or butter
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F / 180 C. Peel apples and dice into cubes
- In a large bowl, toss the apples with maple syrup, water, and cinnamon. Pour apples into greased 9x9 or 8x8 inch baking dish.
- In the same (now empty) bowl, add oats, almond flour, nuts, cinnamon, salt, coconut oil and maple syrup. Stir crumble topping together and pour into baking dish on top of apples.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until apples are soft, covering pan loosely with aluminum foil halfway through to prevent over-browning. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!

I’m definitely not that into UA-cam stuff but I am pretty excited that you are taking us on your journey down the isle! (🤗😃) would you please detail your wedding cuisine? You should get a little outdoor rug on your terrace under the table and put fairy lights around the ceiling part of the terrace . It will looks so nice at night.

Annie, you don’t have to emphasise “healthier version” every single time you cook a dessert! For one thing it’s got maple syrup in it, so you’ve added sugar and for another, there’s nothing wrong with eating a moderate portion of apple crumble now and again anyway!

@@anabelamendesferreira9666 Yes really. I don’t mean a bottle of it contains added sugar, but it’s tree sap, it’s very sweet, you can taste it! If I’m wrong and it doesn’t contain, or if it isn’t, natural sugar then what is it and why is it called syrup?
Anyway, the point I was trying to make is that it doesn’t matter. It’s not necessarily “healthier” but it won’t do any harm on occasion either.
