Many people make the mistake of assuming they can enter Vietnam without a visa, but this is not the case. As a US citizen, you need a proper Vietnam visa, which can be obtained for as little as $65. However, if you need to expedite your visa like I did, it can cost up to $360! Don't make the same mistake I did - make sure you have a valid Vietnam visa before you travel.
