I super appreciate that you actually associate Stardew Valley with high quality pixel art. Every other list I've seen has mostly been showing off 3D stuff which has a totally different feeling then pixel art does.

Thank you for putting moonlighter as one of the recommendation! I've had it long before I bought stardew valley, and love it so much because of the visual and gameplay (i just love pixelated games). Sun Haven is also another good one, and if you want something simpler (in term of storyline) but the similar gameplay, Forager is also a good option and it's available for co-op too.

Husband and I just started Graveyard keeper, and it is super addictive!! However, the game feels super incomplete without the DLCs. Fortunately, they are usually pretty cheap or on sale.

another similar game is Roots of Pacha! it's like a stone age stardew with more involved villagers and quite a nice story. it has pretty much the same concepts as well so you should definitely check it out :)

I don't see Dinkum in the replies, although I didn't read them all. Wonderful game. Build a town from scratch, farm, craft, raise animals, fish among other things all while doing so in the Outback. Cool game I have many hours in.
There was some drama with Super Zoo Story. They ended up straight up copying assets from Stardew, and I know they legally had to change their assets. So I hope they find their own style because I'd love to play it! Also I'm super excited for Haunted Chocolatier!
They didn't copy assets, at all. Stardew fanboys claimed that Super Zoo Story was ripping off aspects by taking too much inspiration from Stardew by making some things too similar. What was the largest culprit that Super Zoo Story made identical? The grass and dirt... That's right. Stardew fans were mad that Super Zoo Story's grass and dirt were too identical to Stardew's. The dev of Super Zoo Story absolutely should have hired someone to respond to the controversy because his response was... not good but that doesn't change that the criticism was pretty stupid to begin with especially when Stardew, itself, took a ton of inspiration from Harvest Moon and made a slew of things extremely identical to it.
Roots is Pacha has just released which is a prehistoric farming game and I definitely match for anyone that loves SDV. Super Zoo story makes me feel uncomfortable as the art style is exactly like SDV and I mean EXACTLY…. I think I heard they were changing it so here’s hoping!
Useful video with good suggestions. For me timestamps would improve it as well as either multiple mentions of title or title on screen. Appreciate the platform info as lots of channels don't do that, which I find irksome
As a warning to people "One Lonely Outpost" seems to have completely changed direction and art style and personally, I think it's lost a lot of its initial charm. Shame
Sun haven, my time games (my time at Portia and my time at sandrock, I have a preference for sandrock though since it's the first of the two I've played I'm biased lol), coral island, moonstone island, traveler's rest
Sun Haven is great and a different focus than SDV with quite a bit of the same elements. If someone is really into decorating, then Sun Haven is the game for you for sure. The pixel art is amazing and all the ways you can customize make the game. SDV will always be my fav though. There is something about the Valley that warms my heart like no other game has been able to.

Verdant Skies has a little bit of a Stardew vibe while still being different enough to not just feel like someone jumping on the farming game hype wagon. It was pretty enjoyable. Also, Forager and My Time at Portia are a lot of fun, Ive put a ton of hours into both. I think my absolute favorite 'stardew-ish' game though is Sun Haven. It's like stardew but with more heavy fantasy elements and more adventuring. It's got a ton of content too.

Sun haven is the closest one to stardew valley... I really hate the concept of multiple farms, once they introduced the 2nd farm thing i just stop playin it. Also the character design seem weird, not hating it just feels weird...

Moonlighter have a greattt freakin concept of a game.... But it get boring easily, i feel like theres no story there was so ever Im so happy theyre makin Haunted Chocolatier, seems like this game have the same concept as moonlighter :)

Good vid. I've heard of most of the games suggested in the comments, but not all of the ones in the video. I've personally been playing Traveller's Rest which is fun but still in development. I've purchased Graveyard Keeper but I don't like the lack of character customization.

There is only 1 game that is better than SV or is so different and everyone should play it and is an old game now Rune factory 4 Thats it. Frontier is also good but is stuck on the wii and has the issue of being really SLOWWWWWWW as animations take a bit of time to complete Sandrock is also good. Btw no you cannot be gay in rune factory 4
Honestly I didn't know if I'd like a game like Stardew Valley so I played one called Harvest Town on mobile first, the one thing i didn't like about it was the controls and so I got Stardew on PC and then switch

Sprout Valley was on another list of ours! It's cute but definitely not for everyone! It has a lot of the cozy farming aspects that everyone loves, but also doesn't have much of a story or other in-depth things some people are looking for!

I love Moonlighter. There was some footage in your vid that I haven't experienced/seen in game but looked great. Maybe I missed it or didn't unlock the right thing but it is a fantastic game.

I've personally been playing Traveller's Rest which is fun but still in development. I've purchased Graveyard Keeper but I don't like the lack of character customization.

Thats it. Frontier is also good but is stuck on the wii and has the issue of being really SLOWWWWWWW as animations take a bit of time to complete

Honestly I didn't know if I'd like a game like Stardew Valley so I played one called Harvest Town on mobile first, the one thing i didn't like about it was the controls and so I got Stardew on PC and then switch

@jenjergaming Yeah I really do, started a farm on the switch with my brother. I still prefer a lot of the characters from Harvest Town but nevertheless I'm happily married to Sebastian on PC and Switch.

@@jenjergaming Yeah, my brother regretted marrying Leah for a minute cause she changed his flooring to what looks like sand. It was really funny, we have an extra cabin that we use as a shed and he was going to sleep in there instead lol.

Sprout Valley was on another list of ours! It's cute but definitely not for everyone! It has a lot of the cozy farming aspects that everyone loves, but also doesn't have much of a story or other in-depth things some people are looking for!
