I love those camera's angle's , make me really miss the chief, flew 4 hours last night in 182 lost all electrical half way home made for a interesting landing and taxi back, thanks joe very good flying skills demostrated..
Thanks for bringing back a great memory of mine. My dad took me to Van Sant in the 1980's for a glider ride when I was around 12 years old. I also seem to remember Joe F doing work on his J3 that he kept over at Red Lion at the time.
I appreciate how you show the different landing angles separately. Great video showcasing the chief! (Also appropriate aircraft for your history lesson with the settlers and native Americans :-P)
Great content. Bar, Dannie and the Aviators are awesome! Love hanging out there, great people, place! I’m excited for this year’s Wings and Wheels event, I’ll see y’all there!!! 🤩✈️
Great video … beautiful flight! Great camera work… Liked the history lesson too … Despite breaking out your GPS I’m glad you navigated using TLAR on the flight 👍🏻 Thanks for sharing
Hey Joe great video! you have a great channel I love your non pretentious presentation style. Love both of your aeroplanes, and as a keen tailwheel, and small airstrip guy ,I get alot from your videos. If you find yourself in Southern England 🇬🇧 give me a shout, i can hook you up with some interesting fkying over historic sites. Keep up the good work 👍 Andy
Van Sant is a sweet little place with the nicest folks. I got my ticket here and still rent the Cub weekly. Worth a visit especially on weekends in the summer. On a nice day it's really a hopping place! County park, lots of bicycles, motorcycles, old cars, kids and dogs, the occasional horse, old planes galore, and good burgers and steaks, handmade fries....
Thanks for visiting our airfield Joe! Excellent video! This video that you made is super breathtaking to me since I’m learning how to fly here at this very special airfield! Well done!
@@Bananasssssssss that would be great! Yes, could you kindly let me know what day on my fly with Bob account if possible? love to meet you there and know when you’re coming.
What a beautiful morning to fly. I was watching carefully, and it appears the roughest part was the roll out and taxi. 100 in cruise, my chief never saw that. Your aeroplane must be rigged better than mine, or maybe lower time on the engine. Safe travels Joe, as always love your videos.
Awesome Chief! Hope to meet one day man. Would love to do some Chief formation flying. Hope to see more Chief content in the future btw. Cheers from Central FL :)

Beautiful Chief! My dad restored a Chief and a Champ in our garagde when I was in high school. I love those little planes!
I was at Van Sant Tuesday afternoon. Always a great place to pop in. Super nice folks and the airport cat and dog are just as friendly.
Your short flight to Van Slant is a great reminder why we are so lucky to be pilots in America. Well done.
Very nice! I spent some time at Van Sant last year, great place, with great people.

Thank you! I could technically just keep the GPS hidden and listen for “Traffic alerts” but it was a nice change to see GS over 100 😂
This is a great video. Thank you for all the care and attention it obviously took to make happen.
Appreciate it!
Joe, your videos are always such a delight to watch. Thank you for creating and sharing ❤️ 😊
Thank you for that!! Sincerely appreciate it!
Thanks for the ride Joe! Looks like a cool airport, for sure!
My pleasure!
Beautiful shots!
Cool airport, but even cooler sunglasses. Keep up the great videos.
Thank you! Cheapest sunglasses Ive ever bought. I love them, lol
Beautiful time of day to fly!

Thanks Andrew! Appreciate that and will absolutely hit you up if I find myself there!

Another great video! Looking forward to connecting and doing some flying. I had no idea this little strip was so close to me.
It’s such a great spot!

That hill that you used for VFR navigation was probably Bowman’s hill in Washington’s crossing. There’s a tower on it.
It’s a brick tower, right?
wow love the chief and champ. unfortunatly not many for sale here in australia :(
Excellent video. Love the history lesson in the middle. Flew over this place a ton during my training.
Love your videos!
Thanks!
Fun video.
Greetings from germany, very nice place, have a good fly

I wish we had places like this in California!
I dunno, I'm pretty jealous of the Coast you guys have out there! and some other beautiful areas in Northwest Cali
Hi Joe, great videos! I've never been in a Chief, but I have a question about my physical size. Would I fit in the cabin okay, or would I be cramped?
Flying solo it’s pretty roomy pretty good leg room. With two people it kind of feels like. 152. I’m 5’7 & 185lbs and it has pretty good room
Ok I’m 227lbs. Looking for an economical flyer. The Chief appeals to me as well as the Champ and Cub.
No mixture control on the chief? I saw you shutting it down with the mags?!
Yup! Same with Cub. Only mixture is on the Carb.
@@Bananasssssssss I didn’t know that, thanks for explaining! I only flew super cubs so far, and owned a PA-12 once, they all had a mixture control ;-)
@@klausmuller8180 sure makes it easier to adjust lol
Can’t wait to purchase a tail dragger, the jets are getting old lol.
I imagine my wife and me in that…lol…do the doors come off?
Not easily but yeah
