The power of U.S. sanctions holds tremendous sway in international trade and finance. As long as the U.S. dollar remains the world's reserve currency, the power of American sanctions probably won't lose its teeth any time soon. But the United States should not assume it will be the world's financial hub forever if it continues to sanction countries without prudence.

US extraterratorial sanctions are illegal even under its own Constitution. Such strangling sanctions should only be applied under conditions of War. This does not apply for Cuba, Venezuela, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Syria et al. In Cuba's case there are only two countries Internationally supporting the illegal trade blockade: Israel [the only real recipient of US Foreign "Aid" and The US itself]. Its up to the other 180+ countries to STAND UP to US aggression which is manufactured in order to justify the huge and expanding Military spending, which fills the pockets of the Oligopoly war manufacturers but deprives many Americans of health and education funding. Americans struggling with dental decay and sick children who cannot get serviced, should realise and react to, this asymmetrical relationship.
