Yeah he would. He has to see his dad be blind every day. To have his dad not see his sons face and see the one you love go through that will bring out a lot of emotion. So he connected with him on a deeper level due to his dad being blind. I saw what my friend had to go through. To see a person for who could see for 17 years lose her eyes sight to a drunk driver while walking to school was soul crushingly painful. A person who was this strong willed person spiral into depression because she felt like her dignity was stripped from her.

Honestly, this audition put everything into perspective for me. The way lyrics can be interpreted by a singer is astonishing. he did another version of the Song with a lot of emotions and this made it so emotional for us to see and then the tears of the Judges made it to an Unbelievable Performance

One of the best auditions so far. And I'm feeling like this while also feeling pretty uninterested, somewhat cynical about One Direction. It's not the song that grabbed me, but how it was sung. Vernon communicates rich, raw emotion from the depth - ultimately more important than perfect training, pitch, etc.
