Got that right, I consider myself lucky to see Deep Purple on this tour. One of the best I've seen. As cool as it was to see the legends, having an orchestra there would have been incredible.
A masterpiece of the last reunion of the legendary Deep Purple Mk II Sure Gillan is happy that it is performed by another legend..Mr.Bruce Dickinson. RIP MR.LORD..YOU WERE THE CORE OF THAT ERA..
Excuse the nitpickery but: The last reunion (which was the second reunion) of MK II resulted in the album "The Battle Rages On". "Perfect Strangers" was written during their first reunion.
Great version, thanks for recording and posting. Perfect Strangers and Knocking at Your Back Door made up part of the soundtrack to my life in the late 80’s!
I've always wondered what it would be like to have the best metal singers try each others songs. This was awesome! Bruce Dickinson is a pure professional, loved to hear him sing Gillan.
This is so f***ing cool 😎! The orchestra really brings out the full potential of this piece! It really was a good 👍 meshing of two disparate kinds of music 🎶!
I love it, and I'm a rock-a-rolla, but my parents listened to it all, therefore, we did. Keeps classical alive...Great! When a 8yr old sings Frank Sinatra, gotta love it (AGT). My kids know this and they are friggin Millenials :)
Great song with a great singer. Would love to hear Bruce sing other songs by Ian...perhaps something like "Disturbing the Priest" or "Child in Time"...
@@emixfelix8683 I simply believe the power and range and control was and is phenomenal top shelf nevertheless iron maiden never truly broke out into mainstream society and I believe the industry held them back as much as they could
I my word this is my favorite song and my favorite band. I saw them 1986 in Worcester Massachusetts and they had Arthur Fiedler conducting the music as a giant laser on the screen in the background. I’ll never forget it
This man never ceases to amaze me. I was Maiden fan but not crazy about them, saw them live in early 2000's....but no one has matched Bruce's ability to sing. He smokes anyone from the 80"s even today. Unbelievable talent.
Canta muito. Sempre achei que o Bruce teve influencia do Gilan e do DPurple Maravilhoso .diretamente do Brasil .Fã do DP desde meus 14 aninhos ,hoje tenho 67 anos
Reconheco a competência e qualidade do Iron
Like Dio, as Bruce has gotten older, his range has decreased but his **power** remains. Check out his "Jerusalem" with 'Tull's Ian Anderson, live and acoustic in a church.
His voice has changed, for critical ears, so his modulation (more noticeable when he speaks) but that is normal, he's 64! And still rocks like in the old days. He's one of the greateast no doubt about it
Darker and deeper tone. Perfectly normal, as you point out, as the male voice tends to darken with age. But what is astounding to me about Bruce is the health of his voice. He’s retained quite a bit of range for both his age and the overwhelming amount of high-energy performance he’s been doing for decades. He still sings with vigorous energy, with ease, not strained. In many ways his voice improved with time. I think his singing has been even better the last 20 years of his career than the first 20 years.
60 something years old, throat cancer survivor and can still belt out tunes like he was a much younger man!!! Glorious!
Yes but it's like Gillan singing the trooper if can you think...
And to remember his huge catalog of songs ..unbelievable
Didn't know he had throat cancer. What an awesome voice!
One of Deep Purple's best songs of the 80's era. 👍👍
Their best song in all eras
Got that right, I consider myself lucky to see Deep Purple on this tour. One of the best I've seen. As cool as it was to see the legends, having an orchestra there would have been incredible.
One of the DP's best songs ever , not only the 80"s era .
One of Deep Purple's The Number of the Beast best songs of the 80's era. 👍👍
No it's 70s when deep purple in their peak way back 50 years ago say 1972
A legend (Dickinson) covering a legend (Gillan). Simply awesome.
Bruce sounds amazing considering this was done last week. He hasn't lost anything off of his voice. Amazing performance!
as opposed to david lee roth, who has no voice. great point on BD
He's an extreme legend
Consider ing this was done last week 😂
Hugh Kingsley I agree. He still sounds fantastic and he is 64 yrs old
Bruce Dickinson is truly a living legend. He is one of the very few vocalists that have lost nothing with age. So impressive.
Tommy Shaw on this side of the pond still sounds amazing too!
He sounds great 😊
Love the song, great vocal especially at his age... thank's for sharing
Sometimes you just need to be awesome, Mr. Dickinson does not disappoint.
deep purple ??? . no !!! but! performed by Ian Gillan (at the time)
Amazing, his voice is still so strong. This song takes me back to a magical time and place.
A masterpiece of the last reunion of the legendary Deep Purple Mk II

Thrilling…
You know you're the GOAT when Bruce is your biggest fan. Ian, one of the greats.
Wonderful
One if my favorite songs, of ever!☺️❤️
The orchestra did a great performance as well.

I could imagine how it sounds there
Love this song, Bruce best after Gillan
Thank you so much for sharing this I’m so excited and my wife is a big Iron Maiden fan too. I can’t wait for her to see this
He sounds so good doing Gillan tunes. Can really pull of some Gillan type screams too on other vids I’ve seen.
Amazing🎉

Don't forget he had cancer on the back of his tongue, I think in 2015. It's a miracle that he is even singing ❤
