Looks good aunty. Would love to try to make it.but half of these stufs we cant find in suriname...
Use what you have. This is just a guide you can use whatever ingredients you have or prefer.
Yes you can find some almost all of this ingredients in Suriname it's just they have different names hon I was born in Suriname raise in Guyana when I go to my dad to spend time in saramaca you can imagine how much searching I use to do just to get Guyana ingredients to cook been doing it since I was 13 years old but I end up finding them in different names also my cousin them work at backtrack so i use to get skyline taxi service bring up for me at that time good luck
@@venietamahase6799 thanx for the update. I live in nickerie. Thats the problem i have. Its the english names vs the dutch or taki taki ingredients names🤣
You can find almost all may be just by different names
What seasonings did you add into the gravy after boiling everything?
I wanna try this today🤤🤤
Go ahead you got this. Good luck
@@candythaglamcook I did it and it came out ok and taste ok... its first time....
@@reshmamohabeer3776 good. Next time hope it comes out great👍🏽
@@candythaglamcook hope so♥
The carmelize sugar gives it the real Guyanese taste, missed that stew. My smoke alarm goes off when I do the sugar
Turn the heat down.
Hon what is complete seasoning I seen it in almost all your cooking how can I get it NY and is there another name for it? Or am missing it when I go grocery store lol🤔
How long do the chicken take to fully cook
How did you make the green seasoning for the chicken.
Here's a recipe. ua-cam.com/video/tTpjBUYzptk/v-deo.html
How you season the chicken?
I used my homemade green seasoning, complete seasoning, all purpose seasoning, black pepper, garlic salt and alittle seasoned salt. But usually in a dish like this its okay to season the chicken to your liking thats why I didn't show that process.
Gal yuh can Prada cook
Thank you
I did not know sugar is go in
In Trinidad we stew the chicken with the brown sugar as well.
Where did you get the pot used in this video
Amazon
what is the name of it

Was that water or oil that you started with in the pan before you put the sugar in?
Also what temperature are you using during the cooking process?
It was oil. Temperature on medium
Thank you so much!! Trying this one today!!. If I get it right..I wont have to buy from auntie anymore..lol.
One more question..I dont see salt being added? I can assume salt was used?.
@@tina4202 I don't use salt in my recipes unless I'm baking. The seasonings I used has salt in them so there's no need for salt. but if it's what you usually add to your cooking you can go ahead and add salt...my recipes are just guides, you can alter them to your own preference or liking.
what kind of wok is that?
Purchased on Amazon
That looks trini style.. with the cilantro and sugar.. I dunno
Cilantro? Authentic Guyanese?
why are people still using maggi seasoning. . get rid of the MSG/yeast extract/modified cornstarch. no browning either. super bad for human consumption.
Do what works for you dear. I'm 40 never had any health issues in all my life and the only times I've ever visit the hospital was to deliver 2 babies. I think I'm doing magnificent. Thanks for stopping by.
@@candythaglamcook God Willing, you still have some ways to go, but you don't want to be 60 and having medical issues. We perish for a lack of knowledge!
@@allysonledoux2880 I understand what you're saying but 60% of health issues are genetic that's why you see healthy people still coming down with cancers or diabetes because it runs in the family. It's also the reason the doctors ask you what illnesses your family have so they'll know if its a possibility you can suffer from that too. Life is short so I'm going to enjoy it until I can't anymore, I eat healthy for the most part but I'm not extreme with it.
@@candythaglamcook I meant when you're 60, not 60%. In any event, the body was created to withstand many things; however, people have to be more conscientious about what they're consuming despite we can't cross every T and dot every I. Furthermore, diseases don't run in the family, it's how we were taught to eat hence there's a pattern of the same diseases in one's family, lack of exercise, acidic fluoridated water, the bad foods, etc. FDA aka Fraud and Death Administration approves. Anyways, take care and enjoy. Peace and blessings.
@@allysonledoux2880 I know what you meant I was giving you another perspective.
All pre packed spice. No good
Not being a critic here but this seem to be a north american recipe . Authentic is being used lightly, we didn't have all these prepared bottled seasonings available in Guyana forty years ago. I am try to replicate my grandma's recipe from fifty years ago, with all natural ingredients. Sorry this is not the authentic I am looking for.
Can't cook a recipe with no musure of ingredients.
Check this recipe: ua-cam.com/video/N-f6fa9YPis/v-deo.html
All purpose seasoning, maggie cubes, and all the other salts...That`s filled with msg and it`s terrible for you. As good as it sounds, all these spices are terrible for your stomach and your intestine... No wonder the Caribbean has a high incidence of stomach and intestine cancer. Don`t take me wrong, I love Guyanese food, but one has to be careful
Unfortunately for us, the majority of people do not take the time to educate them selves about processed prepacked ingredients.
Everything but the kitchen sink! 😮 Way, way, over seasoned, with preservatives and salts... I'm sure it tastes good, but imagine your blood pressure after consuming all that...
About MSG being bad is a total myth, it’s been largely debunked. Besides, too much of anything can kill you. I hope the video below helps.
