    There's a pretty simple trick to get the drum off. On the backing plate there's an adjustment hole that you can use to stick a screw driver in there and back off the auto adjustment so that the shoes contract back off the drum surface. You can then pull the drum right off. If that doesn't immediately work, you put a couple of nuts in the holes provided on the face of the drum and tighten those up - they'll hit the surface behind the drum and force it off. There's plenty of videos on UA-cam to show what I'm talking about. Or you could read the service manual - it's all detailed in there too.

    The same thing happened to me in my 87 Toyota pickup. The shoes got so hot that they completely seized onto the drum. I had to buy the whole new drum/shoe kit. The problem was the wheel cylinder. You should have replaced it since you got the drum off.
