actually painful looking at chat during the coordinates game. 90% of chat telling x he is wrong when he is so simply correct. crazy to see how many people don't know about x,y coordinates.
He was correct, but he was saying it way too fast, mixing up numbers, and making it 10x more confusing lmao
x and y coordinates are more used in function graphs. For discrete coordinates like the maze game you would use rows & columns going from top left like you would do with matrices.

@@liamthurlow6558 Bar graphs don't even have rows but only columns? Rows & columns are absolutely more commonly used for tables and matrices with discrete entries just like the maze in the game

@@wickedvite1142 on a graph there is an origin, but on a grid of dots there is no (0,0). These grids can be interpreted as a matrix with dots representing the numbers. A matrix has no (0,0) and starts at (1,1).

Rows and columns actually would have been less ambiguous, the question of where the origin is is relevant. Sometimes in programming the numbers can start from the top, too, it depends on what you're doing. But I never would have imagined starting in the middle like that, either. But I also have no idea how that curly Q is a "tornado", lol.
Jese and X were both right in their own way during the maze puzzle. X was using the x-y coordinates and Jese was using row-column of a 6*6 matrix
i swear the column and rows that jesse was using was the exact opposite, unless they treat it different in the US

@@terminallywell There is literally no difference. The function is the exact same. Rows and columns work, sure, but the problem is that you need to have defined where you start counting the rows (columns are easy, i think everyone agrees it goes left to right). I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that some people count rows from bottom-up and some up-bottom.
Since XQC and Jesse didn't define these terms beforehand, XY coordinates are imo easier and leaves less room for confusion since (4,1) is ALWAYS the same dot, no matter what, you don't need to define a point of origin.
When the mazes presented are so simple and small, you don't need to have a XY-table labelled for you to use it.
And XQC even tried using columns to explain to Jesse where the points were, and the pepega Jesse still couldn't navigate the correct column. XQC said ''column 4 and 5'' and Jesse navigates to a maze with column 3 and 4.
Like, It's not XQC's fault he was playing with someone who is slow in the head lol

I'm positive most of chat are middle school dropouts after going through the second game. Juicers can't visualize a coordinate system without the other 3 quadrants. I will agree on one thing with Jesse tho, the rows and columns strat is visually easier.

They were saying the y coords starts from top left which does not make sense at all since the origin which is 0 starts at the bottom left where the line x and y goes out from.
