The versatility and knowledge of music and of course comedy is mind blowing. The rest of us should just pack up now and shuffle off and leave Bill to it.
Bill bailey is a fantastic musician, and a really nice guy as well. I met him a few times in the early 1990's when he would buy Guitar stuff from me outsite a Curry's shop, where I sold the same products at well below their price (even their staff bought off me as I was still cheaper including their 10% staff discount.) Bill was a really lovely customer to deal with.
I'm not sure there's anything he can't get a tune out of... never seen him play the cats, but they don't travel well, theyre not everyone's cup of tea and then you have the allergy complaints, so he probably just plays at old lady's houses or cat shows.
Bill is not only FN HILLARIOUS!!! 😝😁😄😁😄😁😄😁😄 but, also a EXTREMELY WELL TALENTED musician👍👏👏👏👏👏. Another words I don't think there is no instrument in the world he can't play. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
I once asked Edgar Wright in person why this series had not seen an official release and apparently its all tied up with the BBC. Shame as Simon Pegg and Edgars early success began here. Glad Edgar still has Bill in his movies.
6:08 "In reality he meant it metaphorically but hypothetically let's take him literally." Ingenious! Literally, 'The world is my world: this is manifest in the fact that the limits of language (of that language which alone I understand) mean the limit of my world' from Wittgenstein 5.62, a welcome to the musical and philosophical vocabulary of Bailey World...
I met Bill Bailey once .. back in 1999 at Lizard Fest (Solar Eclipse). Shook his hand .. and couldn’t think of ANYTHING to say .. so I blurted out “I LOVVVVEE YOU!!!!” .. Like a f**king idiot. Fotunately for me he seems to get that a lot. Fantastic guy that I’ve enjoyed since he first appeared on TV. Was so proud to see him on Black Books .. and eventually Dr. Who (He needs a much bigger part on that show).
Jakob Strand you have to put the 'in reality' at the beginning of the sentence for it to work properly. That's what counterbalance's the word 'literally' at the end. Without those bookends, the metaphoristic nature of the joke is lost in the hypothetical mists of time.. If you get my drift.
Wow, the piano lesson he took at Black Books really paid off.
He was at the London College of Music!
Bach my favourite
Where's the spoons.....
This made me ugly laugh 😂😂😂😂
Bill Bailey is one of the most amazing musicians I've ever seen in my entire life just so you know
He is excellent so is roy clarke bill is a great entertainer
He did get the Flight of the bumblebee wrong, though. Which took me by surprise, but is it important?
@@ulalaFrugilega I think that's part of the joke. You didn't really think there was a cockney bit in there did you?
I've seen him live two times he is KILLER! I was blown away he was so musically skilled and so damn funny
"Now, in reality, he meant it methaphorically, but hypotetically, let's take him literally" Bursted in laughs w that one
I actually didnt pick up on that till i watched it a second time
This is pure genius. ("Gran is talking about Battenberg, but she's really thinking 'I could be at the Buñuel retrospective in the ICA' ")
The versatility and knowledge of music and of course comedy is mind blowing. The rest of us should just pack up now and shuffle off and leave Bill to it.
Nice to see Pegg and Bailey outside the bookstores. ;-)
And comic book shops.

Bill has to be the worlds most talented musician! His knowledge and repertoire of instruments is huge!
Hysterical had me in stitches start to finish 😂😂😂
Simon Pegg’s Welsh accent is proper craaacking 👍
Seen him twice live and he is amazing
He's absolutely barking mad. But, so bloody funny with it. 😄😁😄😁😄😁😄😁😄😁😄😁😄😁😄
there's a method to his madness and a madness to his method 😁😁
Simon Pegg and Bill Bailey also appeared in the epic Black Books
Bill Bailey is a fucking incredible pianist.
I'm not sure there's anything he can't get a tune out of... never seen him play the cats, but they don't travel well, theyre not everyone's cup of tea and then you have the allergy complaints, so he probably just plays at old lady's houses or cat shows.
4 wheel drive had me in stitches .
Wally's Wisdom Wagon was just freaking perfect for some reason. I laughed my ass off at that and don't know why.
"Are we monkies? ARE WE?" 😂😂😂

10:17 the bit you are looking for that used to be on UA-cam...
Exactly what I was after, thanks!
You're a god among men.
ave a banana
You da real mvp
How did you even know???!
I love that super quasi-solipsistic post-scenilist baletamanic punchline at the end!!
I'm actually impressed how the grandparents danced; that was a brilliant payoff :D
"In reality he meant it metaphorically but hypothetically let's take him literally."
6:08 ... Bailey appeasing the Wittgenstein fans; we probably make up so much of his own fan-base he can't afford to offend us.
Reminds me of the classic maestro Victor Bøge. Hilarious guy
Victor Borge i belive you mean. But yes he was marvelous.
This man is genius, why haven't I come across him sooner???
O.

G!
Most excellent! Done in the style of The Open University late night lectures on TV years ago!
“Keep the Crust away for safety!” .. I still say this to this day .. just to confuse everyone.
This reminds me of when I used to run behind the shed but the squirrel was already on the roof as benign crows circled
In the tools / food bit i was expecting a little crush crush crush yum yum yum.
Aah, cockney influences in classical music, pure, unadulterated joy!
Flight of the cockney bumblebee, that was hilarious!
I used to be a philosopher but someone left the room and I nearly ceased to exist.
I never knew that was called Wittgenstein's solipsism; learning while laughing at cockney classics, great idea...
@BotanistRM Parkinson Almost as awkward as showing that you don't know what humour is.
I wish I had a quarter of Bill Bailey's musical talent.
Me too
no, neither of you do really, or you would have practised until you did..and you didn't so no, you don't...
I used to be indecisive but now I'm not sure
I remember when I used to be into nostalgia
UNDECIDED AND PROUD!
I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to too.
I’m not sure if I’m unsure....
“She offered her honour, and I honoured her offer
And all night long, I was on her and off her”
Is this the old joke society, or is that next comment thread?
20 yrs old this now, amazing, remember watching it air!
When u leave the room Old people start dancing hahahahahahaha.
Now I'm laughing hysterically at home hahaha
Bailey and Pegg - two funny guys.
No it's a new lager, cold filtered through an old cloak. =) Great stuff!
Talent
Undecided and proud!
Hey! Is that Simon Pegg?
Bill Bailey is the only musician who i like to watch do comedy
I don’t usually wear hat, but all my hats off to you mr. Bailey!
Fukin genius.
I once asked Edgar Wright in person why this series had not seen an official release and apparently its all tied up with the BBC. Shame as Simon Pegg and Edgars early success began here. Glad Edgar still has Bill in his movies.
Hard to believe that this was 21 years ago :-(
Talented musician whatever instrument.
6:08 "In reality he meant it metaphorically but hypothetically let's take him literally." Ingenious! 17:15 Haha, the amazing thing is there REALLY is a cockney intro at that point in the piece.
I must beg to differ with ya Bill. I hear Have a Banana in almost every piece.
LOL I'm going to start using the term "pixie money".
3:36 - Oh snap, wazzup Simon!?
Should have made a series after this one, called it 'Is it still Bailey?'
He really is mad 😂
Simon pegg and directed by edgar wright. Great stuff
That was the best one so far so much material hahahahaha
"Am i alive" i ask myself that very question every hour of almost every day.
And are you?
.....
How about now?

When you are out of the room, care home residents jump on the beds and play air guitar to Led Zep

Than I can say. A golden nugget from my past, so Thank yo
unique man. funny man
The cockney classical music bit used to be on here somewhere as a separate clip but I haven't found it for a long time.
Anyone?
I know! I was looking for that separate clip too but it seems to have been taken down. Anyways, that part starts in this video at 10:10
You guys who can't search "cockney rock" searching for this? ua-cam.com/video/PHhlHhWGUhw/v-deo.html
That's not the one anyone's talking about.
Yeah, it seems to be gone :(
I thought he did "Have a Banana" with "Flight of the Bumblebee" - definitely saw him do that somewhere
You don't hear the old "Get off me sister!" cockneyism much these days.
Simon Pegg!! Now a major TV star!
Thanx agirlnamedmoe, nice upload x

Peter Jackson missed a trick not casting him as one of the dwarves in the Hobbit he'd have been brilliant
I love me a bit of Tim Minchin in the morning
I use to be indecisive but now I am not sure
Thank you Moe.
little simon peg afore he grew up lol
Love you BB xx
9:40 isn't that the kitchen used in Spaced?
This is like English Chappelle's Show.
thanks for uploading :) these are absolutely great !
Who’s the guy he’s taking the piss out of with the song near the end? Chris something? Never heard of him.
that one time i thought he was playing eruption from eddie van halen XD
14:41 *My Personal Favourite*
That was great!! Thank you Bill Baily!!!!!
I wonder what BB plays when he’s at home... funk?!
Why isn't this series on disc?!!!
At 11:40 - when he looks like Rowlf from the Muppets.
That's Simon Pegg near the start, in the survey about lager.
and the driver of the philosyphers truck
27:53 Ahhh now Peggs appearances make much more sense.
All of the 4wds the homeless man contemplates buying involve him wiggling his hands above his head
What the hell are you talking about
Old Bill BO classic
Brilliant
have a banana!!
I like how he says:
The "'ave a banana".
Tim Minchin has really let himself go
10:16 cockney music in the classics!
So he has been mates with Simon.
Don't know and not know it: Denning Kruger effect
HUMAN SLAVES!!! IN AN INSECT NATION. WOAHAAAHHAHAHAHHHHHH
I'm undecided and proud!
At least I think I am...
I had this T-shirt!!! one from in tro!
Best ending, old blokes dancing to the Chemical Brothers!
I'm 70 and love the chemical Brothers.
@@dennisstyles9710 Bill obviously did his research 😂😂

When was this on the telly then?
Pat - 1998 if you look at the copyright date right at the end of the credits (MCMXCVIII) 👍🏻
Simon Pegg!!
And Edgar Wright!
The Simon Pegg shrug 🤷🏻♀️ with facial expression love it. Always roll this one out when I can’t be seen on the phone... 😏😏
who is he . pegg. some cunt of a name , . england is dead
he really *does* look like he could've survived the Event Horizon...
@BotanistRM Parkinson liberate tuteme ex inferis
Did he say 60% yes, 20% no and 10% don't know?
