It is great update with many new features and animations. Phone is running epic now. Let's hope we will get the full screen wallpaper AOD and 4K60 lense swithching down the road.
People on Reddit report battery drain, screen burn-in (pixel switching OFF?), wifi (6e) issues, signal/celullar issues, etc.
Also, I keep my animations off via Developer options, 120Hz + 1440p dark mode + Nova Launcher 8.x.x and its EPICally smooth, fast and best for battery life. Wanted to keep 1080p, but my eyes honestly see the 1440p in such a small screen for some reason, even tho Im perfectly fine on my 25 inch 1080p 240Hz monitor
I would only update to 6.1 once Im sure its just a few users and not all affacted + after some patch
i dunno man, seems like my battery is suffering. doesn't last a full day any more, and my phone is s23 ultra, maybe 5,6 months old

The problem with the camera video lens is the resolution, not the phone. You were using UHD on the S23 and FHD on the S24. Retry it in FHD on the S23 and you will see that it is the same.
No, it's not. Just tested. No fancy animation like on the S24U, only a brief transition.
Check it on your phone.

@VelianSpeaksTech i tested it it's true that there are no animation or lens transition on s23u 4k60 or 8k30 but for other resolutions the transition is the same between s24u and s23u also for 4k30 it's the same , thank you for your videos they are very good❤️🔥

Mixed feelings on the new AOD, with the wallpaper off it saves battery, tons. They also gave the option on clockface to use gifs or images if desired but not the same as the old AOD with ability to have three different screens. So it's like addition of battery for subtraction of that 3 screen character difference. All in all, I'm not complaining coming from the S22U, but with the 100+ additions the S24U has how can i be mad at this, but this is for the ones believing they're missing out and some may prefer the new AOD, not so sure i do.
I liked the aod feature on the fold 5 where I can change the orientation from portrait to landscape. I can't change it now I'm stuck with portrait =/
I just got this One UI 6,1 update on my S23 Ultra this morning. The first thing I noticed was that my AOD is now so dim that I can barely see it at all . There is no way to fix or adjust this. I already updated my AOD to the latest version, but it did not help. Thanks a lot, Samsung, for breaking something that was working perfectly before this update. I contacted their "support" chat line, but all I got was "sorry for your inconvenience " and "we'll pass along your feedback ". Gee, I feel so much better now.

The camera lens transition thing is because of 4k, I use 1080 60 and the lenses have that nice transition of the S24U
I got 6.1 on an s23 base unit. It’s runs very well. The phone has felt more responsive that ever. Smooth animations. No issues at all so far.
Is there any battery drain issue
@shahbirsingh9799 it's only been one day. But 5 not noticed any significant battery drain. If anything. The phone doesn't heat up like it used to.

It's more likely an intended (or perhaps unintended) omission. An attempt to keep some exclusivity for their new premium customers perhaps. Or simply as someone said before, just not power efficient enough to include in the older models.
i miss the vividness slider, cause some colors (especial brown, skincolor and oragane) are washed out on the s23 !! Can you please compare them and share the video, im really curios if its fixed on s24

22:38 Thats not a Issue, S23 is on 4k60FPS and S24 is on FHD30FPS, in 4k60fps there's no transition between cameras lens
Make a review in a few weeks to see if it still working fine. Animations sometimes only work fine the first few days after update
Where did the microphone go in massager it's not there anymore since the 6.1 update it's. No longer on the samsung keyboard

Pretty happy on oneui 5.1. Don't need all those fancy staff I won't use. Everything is snappy and works well on android 13. Not planning to update.

You set the s24U as FHD & and the S23U as UHD. If you set them both as FHD 30/60 you will see that the S23 does have the same zoom transition animations. This is because the S23U's limitation is on the UHD 60

Galaxy Watch 5 with Spigen case
My Samsung Galaxy S23+ got updated to One UI 6.1 my lovely Samsung gestures were removed unfortunately. As recommended I installed Good Lock app with Navstar inside, but they have probably not added those extra gesture settings from Navstar to navigation for Samsung Galaxy S23 series phone yet. Who knows if they are going to fix this for S23 series phones as well?

I've messed with the summarise feature and it works in a stupid way if you're using it on a webpage.
Basically, it only summarises what the screen is actually seeing. It won't summariase a whole webpage. -_-

Zoom lens cycle testing & Video outro - the reason you don't see the animation while switching lenses is because while comparing, you have selected FHD 30 on S24U and UHD on S23U.
You should be seeing the animation on the S23U as well if you had selected FHD.

I tested 4K 60 on S23U and sadly still no animation while lense cycle only transition.

Aod is destroyed! They removed brightness control and option to use whichever clock we wanted, now tried to the lock screen clock😢 They also forced the navigation bar and it can't be hidden like before😢😢
I agree. My AOD is now so dim I can barely see it! There is no way to adjust it. I made sure to update to the latest version of the AOD, but it made NO difference. Thanks a lot Samsung.
S23 Ultra doesn't have AOD wallpaper support because it's screen technology doesn't have protection against screen burning.
Doesnt it had pixel switch? And also, wouldnt it burn in in other scenarios outside of AOD? And also, the AOD classic black screen + info doesnt burn it in
i think option you talk about in 6:42 is because s24 have LTPO display
S23 also have an LTPO display, the whole lineup had it.

Maybe another update might fix. Or clear the cache partition and try it.

@@AgraFadillah Try reseting your device if this is troubling a lot. This shouldn't be happening in the first place.
@nazmulhuda3262, it's not a big deal. I can use routines to set a certain percentage for my battery to stop charging. I found out because someone on a forum already uses this method because of the same problem.

So does the routine work like it stops charging at the set percentage? Or it's you who have to unplug it after it notifies or something. Anyways Samsung should address these issues in time.

I can understand why there is no AOD wallpapers but they should have atleast given us the new smooth AOD.
You can tell that the new AOD is alot smoother when it transitions from lockscreen to home page.

Surprisingly, my Note20U has better animation than S23U. I got the update, and it got better. I still use both of my phones for a different experience.
S24U was an incremental update for me. The update the AI stuff is okay. I dont use google apps, and translation is useless. No arabic language packs. I'm in Egypt and need it.😊

It will get the update, but it may be towards the back of the queue time wise in the staggered roll out.
They decided to include it with the s23 series. Perhaps wait a day or two more. Samsung mentioned that not everyone is going to get it in the same day.
I'm actually jealous that the s23 ultra has a brighter AOD compared to the garbage super dim always AOD on my 24 ultra
