- Hello helloooo! We're back at Addiction Motorsports to dyno the street car and test out some carburetors! The car currently has a 950 cfm Holley carb, but we have two different FST 750 cfm carbs to test out as well. Stay until the end to see how Tony leans out the air fuels in his own way!

Ok....I would like to know Tess’s background on cars/mechanic’s etc. She is entertaining to watch and listen to as she works on her car and banters with Tony. Not at all annoying. And I mean this with utmost respect, then like some of the shots a her in car and its like that woman is absolutely beautiful. Tony you are a lucky man

@Wv HillBilly Mike I grew up building pre-runners and Baja Bugs with my dad, but turned to drag racing in high school on a field trip to Pomona Raceway. Started building my black Maverick 10 years ago and just kept pushing it to the point it was before the crash.

If you'd tune that 950 you'd love it and it woulda made more power thru out and be streetable. We run a 1050 on our 347😎

Have yall tried a Twin Blade yet? You will like it, pick up power and DEADLY consistent. Contact me or Tony Morris of TMC in florida , Parr performance carbs here in Texas or, little ole me in Texas. Its a Bo Laws design perfected by his son Mike Laws. Bet you a hundred we can pick your up another 12-18 hp with a twinblade, if not more. They 60ft better than anything else we have ever used. They get on the booster quicker so, needs less pump shot time, cleans up to target afr quicker so, 60/330 split is better. FWIW

Nice run! I have a 347 stroker in a 93 Foxbody daily driver weekend warrior. I’m looking at a Street Brawler mechanical 650 and my fuel pressure is about 6 1/2 pounds. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
ps with my holley 600 it was jet changes and power valve changes & pump timing with spray thing in top of carbs, fuel injection nicer the only 361 ford i built had a 2 barrel carb towing unit it was a pig with 410 gears in a van! the music box subs woofers all this gives way to a v6 ls type & 4x4 chevy truck there a thing on it side it runs off a belt! it autoly works ps at about 70 it kicks in set back in your seat oh now the thing woke up! i hauling a camper or boat people banging on there car go faster as i passing them up a hill! where was this back in hot rod dodge(360 flat top pistons & cam 3 speed i got mad dad said sell it 100 dollars a bad ujoint 3 weeks it was totaled after sale it was bad owner in hospital) or ford 200 strait 6 ps wife came, those days!(ended 5 years later divorced and sick 35 years too, not love sick blood cancer my uncle was sick what have i told nurse his name she dropped stuff run out got doc did i say something wrong who is this man to you why my mothers uncle you mostly have blood cancer oh great I am scr-- i heard he lived the med blood thinner on his blood you can stop this now yes he said) i popped hood where the big block at not here there 2 plug missing it a v6 no way he said the thing on it side is the main power thing! it hidden in plane sight it looks like old 1970's air pump! it works don't fix it untill it quits i love it at gas pump not towing 30 mpg i setting had a spell i binder then a bat sleep iy off i see again!

Fuel logs Suck... get a regulator with to individual feed ports and a return. NO more fuel bowl, fuel line alignment issues.
Hell yeah can't wait to see it ripping at the track again! We are pulling my old Mav out of hibernation tomorrow and pulling some holes hits by the end of day hopefully! Thank y'all for the inspiration!
Try some holeshots, instead of holes hits, with your mav., its much easier on the suspension🤣😂!

get high 🏇 power engine's o my kid's are not callings as should've 😮 😊 No clutch, no break, no hesitation and feel delivery. We'll cause loss of horsepower at the line. Full throttle all the way down to the floor. Not partial quarters or any other measurements of the throttle whom accelerator pedal. Accelerator pedal has to be all the way to the floor without a clash of break. If you're intending to lead the line at a rev limit, then you're at that limit shifting through gears. Me, I'm not doing that. I'm on the accelerator pill and I'm going to leave the line as I intended and It is not wrong to shift through the years without the clutch pedal. This can take a little bit more modification to transmissions and standard transmissions to be able to shift through the gears. And a little technique and double clutching. When not shifting straight through the gears without the clutch pedal.
I made the comment I would love to have another one of my Street Cars I had in the 70’, my 1970 Buick Gs 455 Stage 1, mu son in law made the comment np that I truly drive like an old man now.

Need c4 transmission in it 3800 that's what have in my mavrick runs 7 80 302 motor 411 gear
It was a cool bunch of Dyno pulls, but when you started adding nitrous, your video became irrelevant to actual carb tweaking
Why not jet the 950 for optimum and retry it?
These people don't really fill me with confidence.
This is the second time I've watched this same dyno guy and he just doesn't seem to have a freaking clue, either time...I believe the first one I seen him do was Jimmy D and that was definitely a cluster fuck...
THE 750 is fine when it is makin' 409.....HP that is!
Tuning a card is critical for success
No different than tuning EFI
Would have been nice to see both tuned probably and see the outcome
Adjust the 950-properly tuned it will eat the 750's lunch!-Try to lean out the low speed air bleeds-since its rich down low,but straightens up-(or maybe try a different power valve)--Leaning out a carb for power is an art-takes a lot of trial&error,& a BIG box of jets&air bleeds !!!(&a buncha fuel!lol)-Best o luck guys!!-Love the videos,keep em comin!!

Good video, liked the comparison of the carbs. A little suprising on the top end with the 750! Your face when the nitrous popped! But impressive you kept in it most would have poooped and let off ! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you both for the great content. I enjoy the fact you both work side by side in the garage on small block fords. I miss my 85 F250 that had a 69 351W ported heads and a dual pattern cam that rang the pavement at every red light. Keep up the great content!
If you can't tune your carburetor no dyno will help.

I’m going to be as nice as possible, but that guy that’s the “Tuner” or whatever he is, has no idea what he’s talking about.
You need to read plugs, check timing, step down in jets, ect, ect…. I’m posting this after the first carb test and theirs 30-40 horsepower being left on the table.
He wasn’t there to tune the car, he was just running the dyno. He asked if we wanted to make any adjustments to the 950 and we said no, you can clearly hear that in the video. He tunes fuel injected cars for the most part and is also knowledgeable on carbureted cars as well, but we weren’t there to have him tune the car. We only had a few hours and needed to make at least two hits on each carb. If we had more time we would have fine tuned all the carbs to see what they all made at full capacity, but we got the carbs the day before we were scheduled to use the dyno and didn’t have enough time.

Everybody who took autoshop in HS knows the general rule is a smaller carb will be more responsive/crisp down low and larger carb more top end hp

Very educational video Tess. Now I'd love to see you throw a Holley efi kit on it with port injection to compare the difference, I'm pretty sure the efi will pick up some torque down low. Only if Holley would sponsor one of course lol ! it would be expensive.

Was anxiously waiting on this vid ever since we got a teaser pic on IG. Great stuff as always, guys! Wish you guys would have had more time to figure out the cast 750, but I get it. There was daylight when you all drove in, and it was dark out when ya'll switched from the 950 lol
Too rich at cruise needs to be claened up on race carb just as street carb for more accurate jetting across rpm range- the Hp carbs are easily tuned for this on the metering plates - fwiw. Probably already know but- some dont so, wanted to mention it.
Re-Jet that 950 & change the power valve if needed & see what it makes! Good power though!
950 cfm and 125 shot nitrous . Tune the 950 a little better run the backroads of the antelope valley!
There was no way to tune the 950 to get the street driving comfortable without sacrificing the top end, and it just wasn’t as responsive as the 750.

700 cfm carb ci X max RPM ÷3456 =cfm size @ 100٪ ve.
Some tuning it's got 20 more hp on motor and should make 550 on a 150 shot. Congratulations Tess give em hell

Great job you two, were any of the carbs you tried custom done to specifications of the engine combo? Next time play with the timing to see if there's anymore additional power to be gained. You two are a great couple glad to see you work together.
None of them were. Haha. We should have fine tuned all three before going to the dyno, but we didn’t get the two 750s until the day before we were headed to the dyno, so we just didn’t have enough time.

I would have adjusted both primary and secondary and left the first one on. You CANNOT have too big of a carburetor. Not possible. Unless you can't jet it down for some reason.
I put to big on it will run shitty and not perform to its fullest, like guys like u makes my pockets full

Are you running a carb spacer and how Big, what cam and compression. Pop an AFR GAUGE IN the dash to help out , carb time
I have a 1” wood spacer, an Anderson N91 cam, and it’s probably 10:1. I don’t want gauges in the car. If it’s a little off, it’s fine, this car is just for fun.

What mufflers do you have on this thing? It sounds great.
I think they’re dual chamber flow masters, but, honestly, I’m not a fan, they have a terrible drone at cruising speeds. I’ll probably change them up when we put aluminum exhaust on it.
She even sounds better with the billet 750 on definately alot happier motor for sure and with a little fine tuning that baby should be even better!
750 is like the Goldie Lox of carbs. They work on so many different sized engines.
