It's a little surreal to say this 12 years after we started writing it, but our debut album is *out NOW* and at present, the #1 best selling album on Amazon ahead of Taylor Swift, Arctic Monkeys and the Beatles! Thank you so much for the support so far; I hope you enjoy the record...🖤 Listen/Buy: lnk.to/JanuaryCameClose
I bought the digital version of your album this morning and it has been in loop the whole day. Great work for sure, but these abbey road versions imho are still your best takes. I wonder why it must be so difficult nowadays to release a whole album made this way. So much truth here...
I think it's completely unfair that I can watch this video several times a week for months on end and yet I can only give one thumbs up. What's with that?!
Nothing better than listening to a beautiful song, and the hairs start to rise on my arms and legs .... Awesome song, fantastic musicianship, and great mixing .. It is the full package!
There’s a lot of great guitar players out there. But Chris is on a whole other level. His vibrato and the way he bends strings only come along so often. Cheers from the US
This so much reminds me of the way music used to be made. By a group of musicians in a room together just pouring themselves into a song. Really nice to see it done in such a great way with such talented guys. All of these songs have been great!
100% agree. It’s beautiful to see a band now, going through what all the bands did when I was growing up. Playing the clubs, the pubs, travelling in a van… it’s epic, a truly superb talent who are as grounded as the fans staring on in awe. I can’t give enough praise.
Awesome! Absolutely friggin' awesome! A perfect production. Players come in after the start. Players leave before the end. THIS is how one turns a standard video into something special! Not the usual play but a move that says this is special! That's knowing.
The music lover in me welcomes the restraint Chris shows in just servicing the song. The guitarist in me wishes for further fretboard fireworks. Great soulful tune, lads.
Ok, I got goosebumps on this one. Your singer has an Otis Redding vibe (I’ve said it before and with a better vocal range), and the dynamics and songwriting are just stellar. Add Chris Buck’s mastery on the guitar along with that killer rhythm section and you have gold in them there hills Cardinal Black. Radio needs you NOW!!! Best of luck with this project and please bring it to the states.❤️
Fucking brilliant. Eight & a half minutes of brilliant music, heartfelt melancholic poetry sung to the nth degree (the delivery on that final "love is freedom" literal chills), this is the glorious stuff that bands used to do & be praised for. So so glad to hear it anew. Think I may have a new favourite Cardinal Black track.
All band members are so humble in their playing and presentations, when in days past, so many have tried to shine and stand out above their band mates. A truly respectful team, dedicated to the sum of its parts, resulting in a stellar performance every time. Being a fan of Chris for several years it is obvious he/they all understand their role and continue improving for the greater good for both them and us!
@Chris Buck "Trip Hazard" not a thing in Abbey Road I see!! Lol ... Congratulations for your success with this album and for not breaking your neck on all those cables! 😂🤣😂 ... Can't think of a guy more deserving of the lime light... time to shine and enjoy fruits of your hard work. 🤘😎
I literally just discovered Cardinal Black this afternoon via YT algorithms. What a fantastic discovery. This is the BEST NEW band I've heard in a long time. Real , brilliant musicians. No frills, just pure talent. Initially I ended there because of Chris Buck.I'd never heard of him before today but being being a big guitar fan, I dug a little big and ended up at Cardinal Black. They are the PERFECT band and they deserve to become massive. I've sent this video to everyone I know under the sun :-)
I rarely write comments but damn... I just cried watching this... The emotion, the lyrics, the build up, the guitar solo... It struck deep in my soul. Absolutely brilliant performance !
What can I say? I’m a fan! I love everything about this band! I play guitar, so of course, Chris Buck is what drawed me to this band, but wow, the whole band is awesome! The lead singer… Awesome, drummer… Awesome bass player… Awesome ,the female singer …awesome!
Itz not easy to make the listener feel the joy and pain and love and all that emotion with ur music and lyrics. Its hard to grab someone like that but they make it seem so easy. So glad I stumbled across these guys love every song
I found you guys quite by accident listening to an interview with Myles Kennedy about upcoming guitarist that he Admired. You guys have one of the best fans I have heard come along in a long long time. I am at 64-year-old musician lifelong from Detroit who is gigged and lived all over the country, and I can’t wait till you come to Denver where I now live so I can catch you live. I appreciate the originality, the soul in the singing, feeling and truth in the guitar work, just a great band with phenomenal jobs! I appreciate you guys immensely.. Keep it up and carry-on…Denny..
From day one real music made by real musicians a great, soulful singer and yes a guitarist that serves the song. No costumes or any other nonsense. Thx guys. And always love your background vocalist as well.
Lost for words. It’s a rainy Sat morning and I had to turn off the TV when 3 measures passed to savour this sweet and emotive piece of music. Chris, you truly inspire-what a song!
As a musician, i can feel what you guys were going through while writting this song. This track is helping me letting out the emotions i have while going through a hard phase in my life. Please continue to do work like this, its helping more people thank you think. And if you ever come to canada i will be there for sure. Amazing song
Wow - that was a complete musical package. The arrangement is fantastic with the slow, quiet start and very gradual buildup to crescendo … and then such a soulful, moving outro. I came for Chris Buck but all y’all (as they say in some parts) are great. This singer has a powerful voice, and he knows how to use it. Drums, bass and vocal harmonies make the whole thing work so well. Thank you.
Big Chris Buck fan for years! I've had this video on repeat for the last few days (along with the new album). Great band and great vocals. Joined the mailing list and hoping to see a tour date in Toronto Canada at some point in the future. Bravo! True Talent. 👏👏👏
Every track just seems to be a classic that we'll look back in time and say, I was around when this was released. This is such an amazing song thats beautifully balance and an absolute pleasure to listen to. Thank you
This song doesn't even feel like 8 and a half mins. It just transports you along with it and when it was over it felt like i just gently landed back inside my body, especially with that lovely outro with the voice an guitar at the end. This is a magnificent achievement in music. You should all be really proud of what you have accomplished here. Peace and Love x
That guitar tone in the chorus is killer. Great vocals, great bass tone, super powerful chorus after a beautiful quieter verse. Overall a fantastic song.
Incredible guitar work goes without saying but across the board, the songwriting, vocals and harmonies are absolutely stellar in this band. Fantastic work Chris/Cardinal Black.
Wow! Opening and closing with a "less is more" of Tom and Chris; bare bones and tones was just stunning with an opus to love as the meat to this multi-course deli-sandwich master work. Kudos gents And TAY! And major congrats to your amazing album success! 100% earned and a sign people still crave REAL music and REAL musicians pouring their hearts into what they do. Thank you!
This Is a real band, the real one we were waiting for ...for so long.
It's a little surreal to say this 12 years after we started writing it, but our debut album is *out NOW* and at present, the #1 best selling album on Amazon ahead of Taylor Swift, Arctic Monkeys and the Beatles! Right?
Why isn't he monetized?
Black is more than just Buck....They are a great band!
I am nearly 63 years old and still inspired by these guys !
Correction you are 63 years young. 👏
I'm nearly 75 and I love it!
I mean...where and why were you hiding....8 minutes of pure pleasure...good luck and please let the world know about you! All the very best.
After a hard day one song likes this is all you need - thank you!
Nothing better than listening to a beautiful song, and the hairs start to rise on my arms and legs .... Awesome song, fantastic musicianship, and great mixing .. It is the full package!

You can see this fabulous band for free in Omaha, Nebraska at Playing with Fire on July 13, 2024. Their only USA show. Details mid-January 2024.
The new album is outstanding. This song is epic too!
Once again the vocals and guitar are sublime, but don't ignore the bottom end. The bass and drums are brilliantly tight and dynamic.
A work of art! ✌🏻
agreed the harmonies... the phasing.. so many hooks.. btw diggin your work as well
This so much reminds me of the way music used to be made. By a group of musicians in a room together just pouring themselves into a song. Really nice to see it done in such a great way with such talented guys. All of these songs have been great!

I can’t give enough praise.
Could not agree more. They are phenomenal. Individually and as a band , they have such great musicianship and a great sound.
Used to be? Still is. There's a ton of young bands that are destroying it and doing good. They just aren't on the top of the charts
Superb band. Seen them twice now and will be seeing them many, many times more. That I know for sure
This one has been in HEAVY rotation for the last 3 days....
Possibly the best I've heard from you all so far.
Absolute goosebumps material. Nailed it. Thank you all. Cardinal Black ROCKS

Saw this live in Manchester last night. Wow!
Here at first for Chris and his playing. Stayed for that...and that voice...and the harmonies...and the whole damn band.
Just amazing. The songwriting, arrangement, sound, feeling, energy, performance. Brilliant job.

This sounds fantastic. I don't like a lot of new music but I like this. Oh, and I need a revstar something fierce.
This is musicianship of the highest order with a soulful singer who is one of the best-period.
This song doesn't even feel like 8 and a half mins. Really great…having the organ laying down the harmonic bed really gives the whole thing that extra sumpin sumpin. 👌
Congratulations Chris. The record is a work of art in every sense.
Incredible guitar work goes without saying but across the board, the songwriting, vocals and harmonies are absolutely stellar in this band. Fantastic work Chris/Cardinal Black.

This is a ballsy way to end a song, and it's earned, and it works like a charm. Love the vulnerability.
Wow! The best ever! You all just get better and better. Love it.
Chris, plz make a complete live album.
I swear at 3:04 Chris’s guitar says happy birthday
Wow! Opening and closing with a "less is more" of Tom and Chris; bare bones and tones was just stunning with an opus to love as the meat to this multi-course deli-sandwich master work. Super excited to see you guys at Peter Frampton next week.
