Special thanks to the music titled "Vacation Song" by Reed Mathis found in the UA-cam Audio Library. I think it sounds great in my new 2021 intro. Thank you!

I'm here to let you know I named my only daughter Imogen-Ruth as a tribute to what I view as the greatest female friendship in American literature.

I've only seen the movie but in the book I'm told they are in an obviously romantic relationship. The author is herself a lesbian. So...I'm not sure how you missed that. Even she said so in her review. It was more than friendship.

Absolutely loved both the movie and the book! however I believe the book ended in a better way with less confusion. Would go as far to say it is my favorite book; read it in 2 days I just sat for hours! Will re-read in the near future :) Loved your opinions about this!

Yes!! I really liked the book AND the movie. Hard to choose which was better but I agree with you that the book's ending was definitely more impactful. 💞

Yep, I thoroughly enjoyed both the book and the movie. I feel like many haven’t seen the movie but it definitely put Kathy Bates on my list of yes, I will see her movies. I have read many Fannie Flagg books and she never disappoints us with her viewpoint of southerners. The month is almost done…good job Dani. Huge hugs🐥

I have only seen the movie. I didn't even know it was based on a book.

In the movie, it was clearly the 20's and 30's not the 30's and 40's. The movie also makes you think the old lady is Idgie.

I agree wholeheartedly with your book vs. the movie assessment - for probably the same reason!

Thanks, Allen! Yes, I grew up watching this movie (like at least three times a year) and was really excited to read it - loved it!

Towanda!!!! I love that! People were so rude to her. I just put the book on my overdrive hold.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. I didn't realize it was also a book and came here to see opinions. I was nervous the differences would bug me since I love the movie so much but I guess I'll git it a go. I ordered the paperback instead of kindle version because it seems like it might be a neat one to leave in one of those little free libraries.
