Thank you for the video. Helped me a lot replacing my load-cell. I have the Fanatec Clubsport V1 and ordered a load-cell in Nov. 2021. The coulours of the cable where the other way round, but it worked anyway.
Thanks VERY much!! I was having the same exactly problem with the brake peddal, and after watching your brilliant video and beautiful step by step. I got my club sport peddal like "day one". I live in brazil, and bought my "brake cell" from fanatec website, as you told us. THANKS BRO.
Great video showing how fast you can change a Load Cell. As mine broke just after 2 months of usage i´ve got a new one within warranty conditions. But I always was so stupid enough and disassembled the entire pedal unit. Oh well once in a while it might be nessesary to clean and lube everything again. Mine are the V1 Pedals from 2010. They are still working top noth. But i´ve had to replace the PCB and HALL sensors once. Thanks for this video :)
Hi! Thanks for the video, helped me through my load cell replacement here. I got a 2nd hand pedals and they came with the load cell issue. But now that i had replaced'em, noticed that my brake blue bar goes only half way. Do you have any idea of what could be this issue?
Thanks for the video! I'm wondering what number you have your sensitivity knob set at on the pedals? I'm sure that has a lot to do with how long the load cell will last... but nobody ever seems to say what they have their knob set at when they fail...
I actually increased the sensitivity to 9. Then I back it off in the game if it allows it. I am mostly using iRacing so can control it there if I need to. Setting it higher like that minimizes how hard I have to push the brake and hopefully extends the life of the load cell but that is just a theory at this point. The second load cell has lasted longer than the original so maybe increasing the sensitivity made a difference?
I'm late to the party, but my second hand V2s have always been a bit janky, and now they seem to be going for good. Here in Brazil it's hard and expensive to get the loadcell directly from Fanatec, I've been wondering if a common arduino 50kg loadcell with 3 wires would do the trick... The "hardest part" would be to get the pin connection, that I would have to crimp some way - OR, more likely, cut it off of the original load cell gone bad, and solder on the same wire color scheme. Could that work, or am I way off?
Hi there. I just replaced my load cell again in the same pedal set I showed in this video (they are still going strong!). I took a chance on a seller on eBay from Arizona in the USA. I think he gets the same, generic load cell that Fanatec uses and then ads the connector to the end of the wires. I compared it to the Fanatec load cell I removed and it was identical. It worked perfectly and it has been installed for about 2 months now. The seller indicates that he ships to Brazil so this could be an option for you. Here is the listing: www.ebay.com/itm/Replacement-Load-Cell-for-Fanatec-ClubSport-Pedals-V1-V2/221978505818?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649. Based on my experience so far, I would recommend this seller and am buying another one from him today to keep as a spare.
@@airik7777 thanks for the info and for the link, will definitely check it out. I'm more inclined to try and buy local first, and if I manage to set it up inexpensively I'll definitely come back and let you know. I really appreciate your reply, you've got yourself a new subscriber :)
If you wanna improve the feel of the brake Drastically, Pick up a Mugen MBX7 Rear shocks and replace the pos Fanatec includes. They are pretty cheap on Ebay and are a Direct bolt on.
I am having a problem with the V1 clubsport pedals and it seems as tho I dont get full throttle on FM4. Its all over the place at times. I had restart the wheel many times to see if that would fix this issue. The brakes are fine and clutch is fine. I hope someone is able to help me out with this issue
I asked that same question in the iRacing forums to see what others experience were. Mine only lasted about 8 months from new before I started having problems. However, based on the responses in the forums, some people have had no problems at all after more than 2 years of use of heavy use. There are reports ranging from less than a year to over a couple years so it appears to be a bit random as to when it might fail. I have decided to always keep a spare on-hand just in case of a failure.
+airik7777 Depends how hard you treat the cell. I broke mine on iRacing at MoSport (Mos Corner). It´s high brake pressure zone on track. Did an endurance race and suddendly my car just stopped on track because the Load Cell spiked and then stopped at 100% brake pressure in game....
+airik7777 Hey there, I'm a bit late here but I really enjoyed your video and found it very informative. Though I wanted to ask: could I use any old load cell as a replacement part for Fanatec pedals? My CSR Elite pedals' load cell has failed on me and I have found some load cells that look identical to the CSR Elite load cell, and for about $5 from china. Although I would be worried about compatibility. Do you think it'd be worth it to buy a few of those instead of a new Fanatec Load cell?
Chris Sierzega Hi Chris... not sure about other load cells. I would imagine that you would have to know the load range of the load cell that Fanatec uses. This would be important since the firmware in the pedals is set to use a specific range. If you purchased another load cell that looked similar but had a completely different range, then I would doubt it would be compatible. I think I would play it safe and just pick up the load cell directly from Fanatec. That way you know it would work. When I ordered a replacement, I ordered two. Installed one and have one on the shelf as a spare. They're cheap enough to keep one on hand to avoid having to wait for shipping. So far, the one I installed has outlasted the one that came installed in the pedals. Good luck!
Could I use AliExpress load cell?? The problem is though is the AliExpress one is two wires where fanatec is 3 pin,. £20 for one a rip off as AliExpress charge 95 pence
These loadcells are 4 for £7.99 on ebay from the uk, and similar prices from other places, and have 3 wires, just use the pin connector off the old load cell.
@@Nikolas4g63 Assuming you don't get a dud, and you buy the one with 3 wires, yes it should work as mentioned by many people on forums. Thanks for this. Could use a “root” beer myself right now with my broke pedals
Hi Great video.
Not sure what is the screwdriver that is needed to remove the loadcell? 2,5 mm? or 1,5mm?
Awesome video, thank you!
Hi, would a bad load cell cause the pedal to not work at all?
Replaced the load cell on my elites but the problem still exists :(
Any ideas.
Thanks in advance.
