here you done better than me on my first trip out fossil hunting and I had all day XD
No offence but it’s great to see a pro not finding anything.
it makes up for all the times I haven’t found anything at Lyme 💪😜
Yeah the concept of this video was to show that, I’ve got so many videos where I went, filmed all day then didn’t upload because I’d not found that ‘great reveal’ fossil, got me thinking that the reality of collecting is just not like that. I’m filming a few more in this series/style, still gives me something to show you guys and doesn’t have the pressure of having to have an amazing find, which we all know are few and far between. I’m making a trophy too, if the rocks win at the end of 6 videos I’m going to leave it down the beach, if I win it’s going in my workshop on the shelf!

I made a prep video and it was a horrible sticky Dac that turned out pretty ugly.
I could have deleted the video but I decided to share it because it shows that not every fossil preps well and even experienced preppers don’t always get good results.
Look forward to seeing ya next video 💪
Love the videos. At the time of writing this we are currently hunting for fossils and it's 50/50 today. Very hot and sunny though.

@@TheFossilAcademy loads of little ammonites to take home, a few belomnites too but there were loads that were way too big!

Definitely wasn't a failure,I've been using tools and hammers all my life but not really for breaking rocks so its useful to see how you use the hammer,using the corner of the flat end even for thinner rocks more than the pointy end.
Great to see you back always look forward to your vids(maybe next time make it 1000 hammer hits)🤣

What hammer do you recommend? Brand etc? Looking to get a decent one as I'd rather buy something good than cheap trash that constantly needs replacing.
Used to use Estwing but for the past five years have been using hickory handle machinist hammers from a company called Zorro online, they are cheap but never had one break.

If this was filmed on Tuesday then me and the other half were at that stretch. Found a nice sea urchin in the flint a few small ammonites and a small ichthyosaur vertebrae.
