I'm so glad that Kathy made it through. My first show I ever saw of her was actually after the whole Trump trying to get her arrested thing. The "Laugh Your Head Off" tour made me feel so good during that time, I was laughing the entire show all the way through. Thank you Kathy, and keep on keeping on!

Kathy is a good comedian but she doesn't have the range of Carol Burnett. That's not her fault. She is from a different era where the expectations were not as high in terms of skills. Carol had to do comedy, sing,dance, do physical comedy etc.

Kathy is the reason I started watching Seinfeld... I was flipping channels one night and saw her and immediately stopped of course. When Seinfeld was originally on I just thought it was the dumbest show I'd ever seen but I watched it again with Kathy and, " I thought it was a riot!" (A reference to the doll.)😂 I was hooked from that night on.

I agree with Kathy about if it was a male comedian doing that stunt, it would not be as bad. Many male rock bands made fun of Trump and had horrible images of him being killed and nothing happened to them. They showed those images right after Kathy's, did not make any sense. when they honored Rickles- was it the Mark Twain, I was so pissed off that the photo of him after the show was him- surrounded by 6-7 male comics. Kathy was hanging with Don- had him on her show, etc- none of these guys did, but they were the ones asked to honor him.
He was on her reality show and said she was an excellent host. Letterman doesn't socialize with anyone..didn't deserve to be there

Naaaah she’s not - she’s an entertainer that was not relevant for many years and jealous of other comedians that are outselling shows and decided to get all political and upset 50% of the population - Please note there are many of us that do not care about the Biden/ trump idiots - we are focused on our families, making money, education and not paying taxes that we don’t have to pay - we were upset with her posting bloody heads, just like we were upset when the taliban was as posting heads of American citizens - I think that’s why she got this heat - don’t get me wrong, it’s a tough business and sometimes
Artists need to be daring and witty but maybe this was not approach as she herself stated - the other thing as you will find out with her divorce coming out to public with the young man, she is a somewhat difficult person to collaborate with in both affairs of the heart or business related. In general I would advise people to not post pictures of bloody heads, it’s not cool, when a child will see their parent head like this. Do you think this is normal behavior? To post heads Like this - like the Taliban did
I’m really glad to see Kathy come back. While I dislike that infamous photo, it makes sense when she said she had no agency/PR person at the time because I was wondering who the hell told her that was a good idea lol. Everyone has made bad decisions in life. Kathy has acerbic wit that has entertained us for years & I’m glad fans are showing up for her. There are so many unfunny and copycat comics out there, I’ve always respected her knowledge of comedy & how hard she works on her material.

Yes, it is. She mentioned it still gets high-pitched during her shows. That is probably because of a) talking non-stop for a long period of time and b) having to project and modulate (louder and softer, up and down) for that length of time.

I don't understand the politics of USA, where people can't get along from opposite voting sides. It seems to be a huge part of life in USA. In my country no one really cares whether you're Liberal or Labor voter. Voting is compulsory here and we just get on and do it and that's the end of the matter. I have friends who don't vote the same as me. It's not a big deal. I don't think I'll ever understand USA politics. Great interview.
58:34 the concept of a fool or jester in a king's court was to satirically criticize things that others were culturally/socially unable or unwilling to call into question. Arguably, that's still the entire point of the comedy industry.

Yes, the photo was in very poor taste especially at a time when people were being beheaded. But why didn't the photographer suffer the same fallout Kathy did? I don't remember that guy's name being mentioned much in the articles at the time. And ironically, if Trump were to be photographed recreating the photo only with him holding Kathy's head or Biden's head or the head of any of his perceived enemies the same people who vilified her would think Trump was hilarious and manly for doing that and if he were investigated as making a threat to the president they would be crying unfair, conspiracy and election interference.
