After a first attempt, which was covered by the media but slowed down by the COVID pandemic, this 2022 edition of the Créteil CAN became the National
Neighborhood Cup. An answer to all the critics who painted the sports tournament as the umpteenth display of overt communitarianism, instead of the celebration of a dual culture.
Apart from that, the tournament that took place at the Duvauchelle sports park stank of soccer and living together. Literally.
At the beginning, there were 16 teams representing the whole world to face each other in the group stages until the final title. From the quarterfinals onwards, our cameras documented this summer interlude where, for more than a month, the center of the world was in Créteil. The idea was to report as accurately as possible the reality of the field with the help and support of @/primevideofr.
Pure soccer as we like it. The kind that breaks certain rules without making you jump out of your skin, the kind that loves technical moves and head-butting. The one where the crowd shouts "Kill it! Do it", phone pointed at the nervous defender who will be making the rounds of social networks in a matter of moments. The one that crowns its "pichichi" and celebrates its local heroes.
