Awesome cover! What kind of strings were you using for this one? Your tone is so punchy and full yet cuts through so well.

They were a kind of flat/round hybrid that Ernie Ball produced... I've just checked their website though and it would seem they're discontinued. They were basically flats in the standard gauge, but had the 'zing' of rounds. They were crazy expensive though, think that one set cost me nearly £50!

@@ctrlaltbass6990 flatwounds tend to be very expensive unfortunately for us bass players. I’ve got a set D’addario half wounds on my jazz bass right now but I might switch them over to my P-bass and see if I can get close to your tone with my pedals haha. My band is actually covering this song on our next show and your video has been very helpful. Cheers and thank you!

Any tips on strumming with bass?

It honestly took me a while to find a pick that felt good. I think I eventually settled on a .73mm Dunlop. Anything too thick seemed to hinder the tempo of the strumming in the verses for sure. And at the opposite end of the scale, really thin picks resulted with an equally thin tone.

@@ctrlaltbass6990 thank you very much for responding. Usually when I strum, i find it hard to have consistent rhythm. Should i grip the pick hard and loosen my wrists as I strum? Or keep my wrist and grip the pick firmly?
Ill definitely try out your pick suggestion.
