I like the movie. Brando and Loren played it well. I don't know that Chaplin had so much problems with Brando. Despite the fact is that the movie will be still a movie with beautiful memories of my life with my family. Thank you, Mr. Chaplin. And thank you for this video.😊

I really enjoyed this documentary. It was lovingly made. Chaplin did write another film but it was never made. You seem to have got most of the music set pieces in here. My favourite being Tango Natasha. Keep it up

He wanted to make a movie called "The Freak" with daughter Victoria as a winged girl, but she ran off and married a magician & formed Cirque Imaginaire with him. Did he write a script for it? Someone could make it.

@@johnpjones182 Yes. I believe the Chaplin family still hold the script in their archives. The dependable Epstein was enthusiastic about it but other more objective sources don't share this reverie

I've always wondered if the '90's Soul Asylum video "Just Like Anyone", featuring Claire Danes as a winged girl, was inspired by this premise.

If I was working in the fashion industry back in 1960s, I would be honored to work with Charlie Chaplin! That man was a genius! I LOVE ❤️ his movies and so does my husband!
Our nephew is even named Charlie after Charlie Chaplin!

A Countess from Hongkong would have been a fitting swan song for a great film maker and comic genius--but Marlon Brando spoiled it. Brando as Ogden never evinced any attraction, sexual desire or affectionate feelings for Natascha. Even in the final scene, where Ogden dances with Natascha--it was evident, from the way Natascha looked at Ogden, that she was very much in love and happy dancing with him. Ogden/Brando was dancing with Natascha like a piece of wood--not a hint of love or joy or happiness, not even a subtle smile, and never did he look directly into the eyes of Natascha. Not only was Brando miscast as Ogden. He looked like he hated Sofia Loren. Brando at his worst as an actor. So, why did the perfectionist Chaplin cast Brando and put up with his frequent tardiness in reporting for the shootings? That is the question.
