    Jordan plays so damn hard in the 80s. He's all over the place. Best rebounder, best defender (steals and blocks) scoring the ball from mid range, paint, transition. What an all around talented player.

      The basketball gods didn't want Bias to surpass MJ, so Bias' soul transcended into Kevin Durant in November 1988 to make KD a total beast in the NBA

      @@iseeitall5713 Definitely destined to be a top 10 or top 5 player, but playing better than Jordan in college doesn't mean he's going to better than Jordan. A lot of guys were better than MJ in college. It's fun to think Bias would have been close to MJ but statistically it's unlikely. I say a top 5 or top 10 player in the NBA would be generous.

    • @billj4525
      @billj4525 2 роки тому

      That's certainly optimistic, and it's fun to think he would have been that good. I think he would be a top 10 or top 5 NBA player. Everything had to line up perfectly for MJ to end up as good as he did. His improvements as a player in the NBA and througout his career were just crazy as well, and his work ethic was a big part of that. Tragic what happened to Len, but odds are he wouldn't even have been a top 5 player. Maybe he would have though. The unfortunate thing is we will never know if he would have been a top 5 player or better. RIP Len.

      Yet he needed to"hold the NBA hostage"to get past the Pistons,by threatening right before the '91 Conference Finals in an interview:"If"something"isn't"done"about the Pistons,and their style of play",I don't know;I might have to just think about RETIRING!!" So David Stern ordered the refs to whistle the Pistons for a foul,if they even LOOKED Jordans direction when he had the ball,and the hamstrung Pistons were swept by the Bulls to keep Jordan happy,and keep MONEY flowing into the Leagues coffers!! Jordans legacy is a SHAM!!! Having no"leverage"over the NCAA,he was left to his own devices to beat Bias and Maryland,and duly-------------------------------FAILED in this endeavor!!

      @theroseexperience 8 років тому +30

      Paul Donovan Keep telling yourself that. I recall Lebron using this exact tactic multiple times as well in a much softer league.
      Lol at barely even being able to touch MJ in those Pistons series as well. Those fouls compared to todays game are flagrants for the most part. They swept the Pistons and that didn't have anything to do with the refs.
      In college he smoked Len Bias, no clue what you're talking about. Grow up kid.

      @IconicSince84 8 років тому +8

      Yeah... the referees really control the shots going in the basket. Every team that ever won anything got preferential calls and treatment. That's why Duncan's got a lot of rings. Kobe has 5. Dirk and Dr. J have 1 etc.... Never mind the other teams failure to stop them. Nobody said that Detroit was hacking and mugging Jordan and Pippen when the Pistons won the series 4-3 when they only beat Chicago by an average of 3 points a game.

    The amazing thing about MJ's rock-the-baby dunk-was that it was at the end of the game. Where did he get the energy to do it. MJ was a phenomenal athlete as a youngster. He was not as big and strong as Lebron, but quicker, a little faster (4.3 forty to LeBron's 4.6 forty) and definitely more agile. Too bad the kids now-a-day didn't get a chance to see MJ at his best.

      Bias made a life-costing mistake, but make no mistake, he could have been as great as Jordan (in a different way). He was longer, easily as athletic, and just as ferocious. the game was incredible of course. jordan was jordan, and lenny had spectacular elevation and touch on his jumpers all night. but like many of those games back then, it came down to dean vs. lefty, and you knew how that was going to end. playing unc in the days before the 35 second clock was a torment.
    finally with a few seconds left and the game on ice, the guilt about my brother not being there finally got to me. i got up and walked out, fully expecting the game to end on a few dribbles at midcourt, but was startled by a half-roar, half-gasp from the crowd. it wasn't until i caught replays later that i realized i missed that incredible dunk in the last second. they still replay that thing...

    You can read Bias scouting reports on line, by the Celtics.
    He as seen as an inferior pro prospect to Jordan. They didn't expect him to be as good as Jordan. But they thought he was possibly the best prospect available since Jordan. Which is still high praise

    I really wish Len Bias had not died. Would have loved to see his impact on the Boston Celtics. Playing with Bird, he would have gotten much better. IMO he could have made a difference in them winning the Championship in 87 and then being more competitive in subsequent years. Imagine the further match ups between Bias and Jordan.

That Boy Len Bias was legit. Beyond a monster. He held his own and then some against the legends. That kid was unbelievable...idk about being better than Jordan. He did it all on both sides of the ball at a smaller size but not taking anything away from the masterpiece of a talent named Len Bias. From 9:38 to the end of the video Michael always put the nail in the coffin, he always had more in the tank at the end of the game then anyone else on the floor and always had a vendetta against opponents (although he matured and wouldn't dunk like that at the end of an NBA game)

      Jordan was just a few months older than Bias. They were both born on 1963. Bias IS in fact overrated because he couldn't prove anything in the NBA, unfortunately. To put him on a balance with the best player there's ever been is just nonsense, no matter how much some people will argue about this. Even in this game, where Bias scored more than Jordan, MJ still proved to be a much better player. Decisive plays, including that steal with 34 s to go when Bias had just caught the rebound, assists, rebouds... He had an effect on the game that Bias could only dream about.
