Haha I blew by my third base coach who was telling me to stop, then I realized I was going to be a sure out, hit the brakes, went back to third and then they over threw it and I was able to get home. It was very ugly.
With a rectangular lot, the perfect stadium to try to replicate in the back field was The old Polo Grounds where the Giants played when they were in New York. Using cheap bird netting and pvc poles, neighboring adults going stir crazy built the "Wiffle Grounds" with left to right dimensions of 51 feet to the LF line, 63 feet to straight left, 81 feet to the LF alley, 79 feet to where the CF notch begins, 88 feet in the notch, which instead of ending at the clubhouse, ends at the fence to the garden, 79 feet again to the RCF edge of the notch, 80 feet to the RF alley, 62 feet to straight RF, and 47 feet to the RF line. The fence down the LF & RF lines, which run parallel just like the Polo Grounds did, are 8 feet, and the CF area netting, not including the notch, is 4 feet high. It isn't elaborate like your incredible replication, but this was done on the quick and on the cheap for the kids going stir-crazy due to the virus. The kids have a disinfectant spray on a table, and they use it on the balls and bats as well as their hands after every inning. The only home runs hit in this park so far have been inside the park, and most games look like Dead Ball era games, with more errors than hits. But the kids are 8, 9, and 10 with a couple of advanced 7 year olds. Of course, none of these kids ever heard of the Polo Grounds, but they think it is the best thing that ever happened to the neighborhood. The shock is that this youth Wiffle Ball fun going on a couple times a week is more exciting than watching the current boring brand of Major League Baseball.
+Erich Schwer we went 1-2 lost one game by 1 and shoudve had the win but we beat the green mouse and lost to the blue Bulls. We were one of the youngest teams so 1 win isn't bad for us.
I didn't see anyone drinking beer. And we used to play with the balls that would get a huge dent that sometimes could not be squeezed out. Game over. Give me a beer.
