Right when I started wiffle ball I look up pitches and I watch you and it help me so much and now a could call my self a good pitcher because you helped me learn
We both throw risers, sliders and knuckleballs but we have different grips but we get the same results. Thanks for the screwball thou! Now I throw like 8 or 9 pitches
@@quickshot2711 I hold it where the tip of my fingers are right infront the holes of the wiffle ball, then with my throw, I flick the wrist and let go you with the tip of my fingers, it’s always been a swing and a miss
So do you ever have to play in leagues or games when it’s just scuffed and not knifed balls??? Just wondering the difference in movement between knifed and regular scuffed.
I can't get the hang of the slider or cutter. I've got a 3/4 delivery. How are you rolling the ball out of your hand? Do you grip it tightly like a curve? I can throw a 4sm, 2sm, circle change, curve, and splitter. The curve took a while, but I didn't have a hard time learning the others. Seems like the cutter would be easy, with the same arm action as a 2sm but gripping the bottom half instead of the top so it spins clockwise.
I feel like my natural motion for when I pitch is to snap my wrist, so when I’m playing wiffleball its hard for me to throw the slider, curve and overhand screwball. When I play I have completely unorthodox grips for my pitches. I throw a sinker-drop ball where I hold it with the holes facing up and I do a sidearm. I throw a sidearm/underhand screwball with the holes totally facing down. Whenever I try and throw a slider or screwball it always ends up a fastball. Anyways great vid Jack!
use 3 fingers along the seam and try really hard to spin it straight forward. i used to have trouble with the riser and the screwball because i was releasing the ball from the sides of my fingers and not my fingertips
When I throw mine I hold it opposite of a slider grip, I put just the tip (heh heh) of my index finger in the ridge of the bottom of one of the holes, and slightly cock the ball inwards toward my palm (kinda hard to explain basically so the holes that are closer to the palm side of my hand are closer to my hand than the hole on the opposite side of the ball by my fingers). . When I throw I snap my wrist down hard and make sure that when I release the ball the holes are at a perfect 90 degree angle from the ground. Everyone’s body mechanics are different when they throw so some adjustments need to be made person to person but as long as the holes come out as close to 90 degrees from the ground and the snap of the wrist causes optimal spin, you’ll get results eventually. Sometimes I video tape myself in slow motion to see when a pitch did what I wanted, what my body and the ball was doing and take a mental note of that
The reason you get better grip is because there is much less surface area to catch on your skin giving it more friction on so a perfectly smooth ball would be impossible to pick up
Some serious plastic…. And maybe the best piece of sports equipment as it is attainable for all ages and neighborhood friendly. I think most folks can throw a riser; a natural for me. But control and making it part of an arsenal is a sweet science - beautiful/evil. In college, and just hacking around, I found myself at bat on two separate occasions against these pitches. Both of those guys throwing were from Japan, and city kids. Thanks for helping me understand.
The scuffing reminds me of the red ball in test cricket. Because they use the same ball for hours you'll see the bowlers (pitchers) constantly rubbing one side of the ball on their clothes, trying to keep one side shiny and smoother, while the other side gets roughed up.
Idk why but my slider and screwball are opposite of yours, meaning the way the holes are facing are switched. They both work fine (mainly the slider, still have issues aiming the screwball).
We need a strike zone tutorial
No kizzy
Please a strike zone tutorial
PVC pipe and zip ties my man. Get creative.

LFGGGG THE VIDEO IVE BEEN WAITING FOR
Thanks for the vid. I made up my own pitch called the ‘slizer’ a rising slider.
So do you ever have to play in leagues or games when it’s just scuffed and not knifed balls??? Just wondering the difference in movement between knifed and regular scuffed.
I throw my slider on a slant and release higher. As a lefty it has like a 9 to 4 movement
ive been waiting for so long
xDDD great video, Love your guy's editing
Thank y’all so much for the help you made my nuckle ball nasty!!
Did you film one of those clips at atkinson common in Newburyport Ma? I think I recognize that tower
I always felt like I had a spirit bond with you and I now know it's our shared love of knuckleballs
Thanks for the help! I hope I will soon be racking up the Ks!
Wait so the holes have to stay the same way the entire time you throw it
This helped me with the knuckle which I’ve been trying for a year maybe
4:50 GREATEST KNUCKLE BALL EVER
How did you throw the screw ball because when I threw it instead of going back into the strike zone, it curved off to the left
thanks for the tutorial, Professor Ice

Tips on lefty riser
When he’s giving the scuffing explanation jack looks so funny
How much does it cost in materials to make that strike zone?
I cant throw the knuckleball
Jack looking GREAT in the tati jersey

With this tutorial, can I too consistently strike out @Jolly Olive?
100% this man was offered to be in the MLW
Hey my riser rises almost instantly and goes 15 feet up how do I fix that
Finally found the UA-cam! Love the content on tiktok and over on the warehouse games channel!
Wow. I learned a lot!
I get more joy from watching a knuckleball freeze a batter into embarrassment than almost anything in sports.
hey the knuckle ball was awsome i only eas able to throw 2 knuckle balls any tips
what song is being played during the pitch showcases, like when it starts at 1:08
Thanks for the pitches jack
Great shit Doyle! There's a reason you have an Award named after you.. Hoping they re-name the Vezina after you as well..
We got ice, when i try to throw the screwball with that grip and and angle it sinks, any advice?
We need more wiffle ball full videos
is it okay if there is holes on both sides of the wiffleball
When you say “roll it out of your hand” what the F do you mean? I demand greatness in my free info!
What size is that strike zone
I have absolutely 0 pitching experience. What is the most important thing to master? Is it mostly just the release and the angle of your arm or what?
Where do i buy the balls?
how do you get better accuracy when pitching
This is a great video. But the only thing is that I can't get either screwballs to work. The overhand cuts sharply down. Any advice?
same, that grip only cuts down really hard and never in only out
@@brafshsyt Yeah thats what happens. If I throw it slow enough it moves like a sinking slider.

How far in the warehouse how far is the mount?
Im having a hard time with a screwball im throwing it facing left but it has the same effect as the slider
what song is that, the song that plays when you are showing the pitches
Thank you so much you help me get better at throwing good pitches 🎉
PLS do a strike zone tutorial!
Do you have to have that exact same ball
The reason you get better grip is because there is much less surface area to catch on your skin giving it more friction on so a perfectly smooth ball would be impossible to pick up
How far away do you pitch from
Please do more of these
you should try throwing a side arm changeup its my best pitch against my brother
How far are you from the zone
Ngl the riser in my opinion, is the hardest pitch to throw
My riser goes to the left and then curves to the right for some reason
Thanks cuh
Is this inverted?
Do lefty pitchers jsut do the opposite or the same grip?
They use the same grip I tried it don't worry

My go to strike out pitch is the Efist
Is it possible to throw a straight pitch with a wiffleball?
You should try plugging in your SM58
My knuckle ball is nasty thanks to you
I tried the knuckle and my knuckles hurt and I got blisters
Every time I throw the screwball it has some thing like a downward slider movement, maybe like a 2 to 7. Anybody known any way to fix it?
Goat
can you make a vid on the screwball only
I can throw a decent knuckle but it is very inconsistent. It is so funny with a whiffle ball. 😂
how far do u pitch from?

Need to know where to aim for each pitch
I hope this isnt a dumb question, but , Just curious as to how this actually helps you throwing real baseballs, especially in a high school level?
We need a tutorial just on the knuckleball, its so hard to get down!
jack should join mlw
Shake like Shakira in the Super Bowl 😂😂
How do you do that screwball thing with the blitzball like towards the end of the 1 inning tourney?
Hold it like a two seam and throw it underhand pitch

Any tips on how to make it curve. I’m following all steps but can’t get it
Same
i tryed the riser but it whoat work

Are you using a clean ball fresh out of the box? A ball that isn’t hand scuffed or cut tends to move opposite directions
If you don’t scuff the ball and it’s just a fresh wiffleball it’s gonna not curve the same
Thank youuuu
Nice video jake
Is it a matter of throwing fast or the grip or both
Speed isn’t as important but spin is key
Can you give a Vulcanchange tutorial
I dont understand why this doesn’t work for me… does anyone have any idea why it wouldn’t work for someone?
You gotta update blitzball with your new pitches
How far back?
Idk why but I can’t get the riser down
I'm just stopping by to say that I've been scuffing my balls since '89 and I fully recommend it.
sounds painful...
