It will contract and cool down while going up, with normal laps rate

Sir, first of all thanks a lot for your videos, these are very very helpful in understanding very difficult concepts 🙏
Secondly, in books I have read that pressure at ground level is more so it has a contracting effect on air. While going up pressure reduces and air molecules become more free and as a result expand.
Just a query, we know for compressing a gas, pressure is increased (and temperature is decreased). Doesn't less pressure mean expansion then?

Rainfall we are receiving in Delhi and UP is primarily due to Western disturbances. Cyclone usually do not affect areas located so far but it do interacts with other weather system. Right now the cyclones are interacting with western disturbances and modifying it slightly.
