Yes banana is high in sugar but it also contains a lot of nutrients which important for our bodies. Our bodies will turn sugar into energy and banana is high in potasium which assists in a range of essential body functions.

Bananas actually has very little potassium in compared to RDAs and do have a lot of sugar, like have 3 bananas a day and boom, half your RDA for sugar is met (and 90g RDA is already really generous).

Maybe someone has mentioned this.. but the foundation is oil based - and you're blending it with a wet beauty blender. Water and oil don't mix and separate from each other. I blend this foundation with a synthetic bristle brush or my fingers.

right! lol i love this foundation and i have dryer skin right now and use my fingers or a brush as well in thin layers til i get the coverage i want! maybe shed like it better if she applied it that way. i thought they usually do half face with brush and other with sponge or whatever anyways but she didnt to see which would have been better but still, water and oil dont mix thought she would have known that! but anyways, i love this foundation and concealer 🤗

    Hey Tati,
I’ve been using natural certified skincare and makeup products for almost 10 years and tried a lot. Here are some products I love:
I have combo skin, which is very prone to acne.
    Powders:
Antipodes - Mineral Skin Finishing Powder
    RMS Un Powder
Foundation: Juice Beauty Flawless Serum Foundation
Mascara: PHB Ethical Beauty (no smudging, gives volume and length. I’ve had Kjaer Weis, Ilia, 100%pure, and what not, but this one is the best)
    Lipsticks: ILIA Beauty
    100%pure make have great highlighters.
    Regards,
    Karoline

I think you should invite a chemist to educate you and your viewers about these ingredients. A lot of 'controversial' ingredients aren't 'bad' per say and the situation is hardly ever as black and white as we try to make it out to be. Regardless I'm really proud of you for taking the initiative to learn about this! It's worth checking out why certain ingredients are in cosmetics and what role they play, the chemistry of it is really interesting actually (shout out to all my other bio/chem people eyyyyy) and talking about it on your channel would be a GREAT way to encourage young people to go into STEM- we especially need more girls studying science!!!

The absence of one thing doesn't automatically prove the presence of its opposite. Just because something doesn't have a "Clean at Sephora" label, doesn't mean it automatically contains formaldehyde releasers in its formulation. Tom Ford doesn't have a Clean at Sephora label, but upon comparing the list of ingredients in their stick foundation to the list Sephora provides to obtain the "Clean" badge, the product meets those standards yet it doesn't have the seal. It makes you question how some of these brands get that seal, and my strong suspicion is that it all comes down to money used to market that brand. I think it's important to question the parameters set by even those you're inclined to trust. What motivated them to even create a "Clean at Sephora" section? Probably because it's a trend now and they wanted to capitalize on it.

    Just a (not so) quick *GUIDELINE* for skincare and makeup;
    - Natural is NOT automatically better. Matter of fact, a lot of natural ingredients are harsh and irritants for the skin, while a lot of chemical ingredients are very beneficial for your skin.
    - Parabens are NOT (particularly) bad. It's something the cosmetic industry started marketing to make you buy their products without parabens more. A very early study concluded parabens are bad, but this is FALSE and has been debunked by numerous different and recent studies. Parabens could be an irritant for a small amount of people, but generally not. *Please do your own research on this subject as there are numerous different researches on this and opinions from dermatologists.*
    - Mineral oil is NOT bad according to research, though some people have reported it makes them break out. People are very divided on this oil, but definitely don't be afraid to try products that contain Mineral Oil.
    - Mostly avoid any frangrance (perfume, essential oils like lavender etc), Alcohol (Denatured Alcohol, commonly called Alcohol Denat) and SLS (Sodium Laureth Sulfate, mostly in cleansers) in your skincare and makeup. These ingredients have no benefit, are very likely to irritate your skin and disrupt your skin moisture barrier. It WILL dry out your skin, make it more prone to redness and inflammation.
    - Fatty alcohols are GOOD (ingredients like cetearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol). These will help ingredients penetrate the skin better and will not dry your skin out. It can be comedogenic for a very small amount of people again.
    - Don't be affraid to put a facial oil on your skin or use makeup that has oil in it. Rosehip, Squalane, Jojoba and/or Argan oil for example are great oils. Make sure you do your research on them though, as some oils can be highly comedogenic, like coconut oil.
    - Don't dry your oily skin out with harsh drying cleansers and super mattifying setting sprays etc. It will make your skin more oily. Moisturizing, hydrating and nourishing oily skin can actually make your skin a lot less oily. Yes, applying an oil at night can make your skin less oily ;)
    - Always baby your skin. So do not wipe your face dry, pat. Change your pillow case frequently, always take off your makeup, don't take long hot showers, etc.
    - Vaseline is great and non comedogenic. The molecules are simply too big. As long as you cleanse your skin right, a tiny layer of vaseline over your moisturizer at night can make a world of difference as it prevents Trans Epidermal Water Loss.

Thank you for being a voice of reason. Natural is not always good, synthetic or unnatural is not always bad. It is however bad to start carpet-labeling broad groups of ingredients as one thing or another. Education is so important, but half-education (cursory glances through material that may or may not be truthful,) can be dangerous or at the very least, extremely misleading. I applaud Tati for trying to mindful of what she uses. Everyone should seek to educate themselves on what they use every day. But I wish she'd be much more thorough about it.

    Tati,
I am extremely excited to see that you are doing a series on Clean Beauty. It's something that I have been trying to switch to for a few years now.
A lot of the more organic makeup without synthetic ingredients costs more to produce, and as a result a lot harder for lower income makeup lovers to purchase to test for themselves. (And in some cases expires faster.) I strongly value your opinion on what makeup is most worth my hard earned dollars and really appreciate you spending your money on these products on my behalf.
I am eagerly looking forward to future videos in this series. You do what's best for you, I'm with you on this journey.
In regards to some of the comments I'm reading:
    1. I feel people aren't understanding that you're not giving up testing other makeup and that you're still flexible as to the parameters of the ingredients you're comfortable in using.
    2. People need to realize that yes, you may be an influencer, but they're still responsible for their own thoughts and actions. Question everything. Find the answers for yourself.
    3. Not all medical knowledge has been properly tested or vetted. Results of studies can be skewed, misrepresented, or manipulated. (Ancel Keys anyone?) This goes both ways. Better to err on the side of caution. And it is up to each individual to decide what that is.
    4. Our skin is our largest organ and absorbs what comes into contact with it very quickly. In addition, people can develop allergies at any point in their life for various reasons. I think in general, what you take in effects the person you are, whether that's through your skin and mouth or what you watch and listen to. It's just better to be careful in the 1st place.
    Love your channel!
    ~Sara

I feel like you might be falling into that trap of "all chemicals are bad" which obviously isn't true because everything is a chemical. It confuses people, and it looks like it's also frustrating people. Just saying as constructive criticism.

Hey Tati! I love your channel and watch every day!! I am a certified artist at Sephora and have been trained on a lot of these brands you are you are testing. Try the Josie Maran foundation with a lightweight non silicone based primer! (I personally like the Becca first light primer with it. That primer over time helps to minimize the pores as well.) The foundation has smoothing properties like ginger in it which means you won’t need a smoothing primer necessarily. (And ginger will help to minimizes pores and redness on its own so the more it’s used the less you’ll need over time. There also is dimethcone like you said in the foundation so you could have just had too many silicones on your skin which is probably why you felt oily. Also the tatcha silk canvas you used too much. Taking 2 fingertips swirl on the top of the primer then warmed up in the fingertips and press into the pores only where you need it. (kind of like how you use the tarte primer!) It will sits so much better on the skin! And as far as a matte clean foundation try cover fx powerplay! Which I feel like you may have tried before! They have a setting powder as well! The whole line is completely clean and even says on the gondola! Hope this helps!!

Josie Maran’s brand is built around all of her products being formulated/containing argan oil. It is a good natural brand but if you have oily/acne prone skin, it probably should be avoided. She does have some lip products formulated with honey & a cheek stain/tint with coconut water & coconut water eyeshadows.Have you thought about trying burt’s bees makeup brand? Tati, I think you're forgetting that ingredients give the products their functionality, so if you're having trouble finding "heavier" makeup with "clean" ingredients, a big part of that is probably because ingredients typically used for full coverage and etc. are not considered "clean". You can't have your cake and eat it too. Clean makeup has limitations (also, putting anything on your face and leaving it on your skin all day is probably not good regardless)

The makeup industry is mostly self regulated and if you look into it there are so many scary things put into makeup that you don’t even know about. The FDA only does something after thousands of complaints are issued and many products go into the market without real testing. Always do your research before buying makeup to see what ingredients are in your products. Your skin is the largest organ in your body so taking care of it is so important.
