Foy's first official video for the release of Gabriel and the Vagabond on 18th Dec 06. Directed by: Carla Mercer Animation by: Steven Forbes Edited by: Peedy (.tv)
Hey guys... I didn't know you cared... I'm glad you do! So here's the low down brown... They version on the show is sped up, which makes it sound funny in many ways. Play it against this version and it'll make sense. For the record it freaked me out when I first heard it too... I was thinking they'd got someone else in to sing it. Thanks for the support cubs...x
Met Foy on a cruise that he was preforming on. I even got to take care of his and another musician's daughters, listened to him preform a shortened version of the "Suggestive song" with a guitar, and even got him to sign a tobasco sauce bottle as a joke. He is one of the nicest men alive, and I feel honored to have met him.
This is about the eighth time I've had to listen to this song since yesturday when I first heard it. The end is really worth a wait if any of you viewers aren't feeling like hearing the whole thing out.
I've been listening to Foy Vance for a long time now i really love his songs, so soulful. First saw him as an opening act for Nizlopi's last gig and bought the album, loved him since. The story behind this song is beautiful.
In this particular vernacular, a tramp was a hobo or a vagabond. Not like the sexual connotation used in slang. You should come back to it and sing it some time at your church. The message is wonderful and transcends religions. It's about humanity and finding hope when you are lost inside and taking the extended hand of those that want to help.
@Fotographing i moved 2 ireland about 1 year ago b4 i lived in germany so b4 i moved here i didnt no any anglish exceot stuff lyk hello , bye ..... and i only speak english since a year
yeh, but, was it actually foy singin it, because the original is sung in an irish accent, the version in greys anatomy is with an american accesnt! check it out, i dont think it is foy!
well i actually find it very hard to listen to usher anyway. physically. but why is it offputting that it happens to have religious references? the words he uses are amazing. doesn't matter whether they're biblical references or not. reminds me of hallelujah, actually.
@sitwosaints Beautiful stories are meant as example and inspiration, not factual truth. The fable of the tortoise and the hare is a great example of this, but do you think a tortoise actually raced a hare? Of course not. It's meant as inspiration.
A man who's not afraid to sing in his Northern Irish accent They're few and far between.
Duke Special. Van Morrison. Can't think of any others
