- This is an amazing, raw brass, Cannonball 789RL. It's in very good condition. There were some minor dents in the bell that were repaired, as pictured. The stones look to be Wild Horse Picture Jasper
From Cannonball:
789RL Professional Trumpet With its reverse leadpipe design, medium-large bore, and even bigger Big Bell design (5.25" bell diameter), the 789RL "Bavarian Lion" is a free-blowing dream giving you the potential to roar while maintaining a quality of sound ideal for both leading or filling out a section.
Bigger Big Bell Design
Our Bigger Big Bell® and unique bell flare contribute to a vibrant sound and less resistance.
The Reverse Lead Pipe
The reverse leadpipe creates less resistance and a more free-blowing feel.
Monel Pistons
Cannonball trumpets feature monel piston valves. Monel is a malleable metal alloy that ensures smooth and long lasting action. The metal re-arranges its shape with every stroke to insure a proper, tight fit and alignment with its casing. Monel resists pitting and corrosion so you won't have to have your valves re-plated. The metal also retains the valve oil longer than other leading materials.
Medium-Large Bore
We searched for the perfect bore size to facilitate a great air column. Even though the bore is technically Medium-Large, there are variations in the tube diameter across the instrument which create a comfortable degree of resistance as well as aligning pitch for great slotting.
Do you work at that shop? I've considered driving down from NY to check it out.
Hey there! I do not work at the shop, but I do live close by. I definitely recommend stopping by if you are in town.
I am purchasing that horn right now. I went an tried out all of the horns there and man! When I got to this horn I was in AWWW! I did not know the brand I just knew I enjoyed playing the horn. It felt good in my hands and the sound was the sound was amazing.
Yo! Congrats! That horn is incredible and an absolute bargain. Glad you got a chance to play the other horns in the shop!
Doesn't B & S make these?
That's a really good question! I have no idea :) From what I googled it seemed like they have a couple people manufacturing them.
