I feel a big bias comparison here
Wow. I know this video's quite old but holy crap - the bias is astounding! Are all Jag people like this? It's actually making me want to go for the BMW, just to avoid hanging around with people like this. Couldn't watch all of it. I currently own a 3 series and 5 series, love them, but looking at the XKR as a replacement for the e93 - I'm honest about the pros and cons, the sound of the Jag is the main thing that's drawing me in, I'm aware that the MMI is nowhere near as good as the iDrive for example - so I was expecting this video to be a fair comparison or the plus and minus points, how terribly wrong I was.

im choosing a jaguar xkr as an upgrade from my 645 instead of a 650 but i must say this comparison does seem very biased, as much as i love the jag, i think bmw interior tech and feel is light years ahead
A very biased review. I've had both cars and preferred the 650i. Also many facts about the 650 and 640 were wrong. Bothe the 650 and 640 come with 19 and 20in wheels. Never seen one with 18" wheels. The info screen on the BMW is bigger than the Jag 7" vs 10.5". The exterior of the jag is beautiful but the interior of the BMW is far superior in luxury and comfort. BMW is much roomier than the Jag and the Bang and Olufson is a pure pleasure to listen to. The Jag may be a bit faster but the speed of the BMW is nothing to sneeze at. 445 engine 0-60 in 4.5 seconds is damn good. If you're a larger man over 6 ft you would also want the BMW on a long trip. The jag is a bit cramped and this crap about the valet lock....how often do you set this feature? Personally I never hand a 100,000 car to some kid to valet park it. The safety door handles can also be programmed to one not two pulls. Anyway, they're both great cars but the review was clearly unfair. A noteworthy mention, I got a hell of a lot more stares and compliments from women mainly about the BMW over the Jag.

After the E Type the XK is the best looking Jaguar ever made, sadly it all ends there compared to the 6 series the XK is now very old tech and very thirsty, the BMW is a technical tour de force very economical by comparison both on fuel and running costs. Both very different both great cars.

I’m not sure the xk n/a would be slower then a twin turbo 650i, I could see the xkr but not the base xk. To me the grandturismo mc, xkr or rs and the Aston Martin are the best looking gt Cars ever.
Stop it. Jaguar obviously paid you guys to find flaws in the bmw! That jag xk is played out and interior is outdated. Xk is overpriced especially if you can purchase a 2007 with similar features for way cheaper .. Nice try!
I have Had the privilege of driving both BMW and Jaguar, admittedly my BMW is the 3 series not the 6 , But truly miss my Jaguar the BMW is a Good car no doubt but good is all it gets my Jaguar was and still is my dream car so if anyone wants a BMW with 42k miles I am selling mine for $19 k or I will trade for an ' 08 or above Jaguar XK convertible
What jaguar did you have? Mine is an 04 Vanden plas and it's great. I just seen a 2012 XKR ( 510hp) for $37k that's really nice on eBay.
I had a 2007 XK in Indigo Blue with ivory and light blue interior and tan top I miss that car
Nice color combo! Mine is SeaFrost over biscuit leather. The good thing is jags like that are cheap to get used.

jag spokesman perhaps? just ignore practicality, comfort, economy. All factors to peoples choice of cars but I'm assuming the jag falls short to the bmw in those departments so lets just ignore it.
No idea why ppl bash this video. It's an internal Jag video for Jag sales people on how to persuade buyers to buy the Jag. This is very balanced as such. Too many think this is a review video. Come on. It's stated clearly in the beginning what it is. Everyone in the video works for Jaguar; yes, they are paid directly and honestly by Jag.

Customers in the market won't fall for this. The Jag is a nice car but it's technologically inferior to the BMW. The interior trim design of the jag is well past its sell by date, unlike the BMW that is cutting edge. The interface on the satnav/audio is also far superior on the BMW. The Jag is classy & flashy but the 6 series is sophisticated with intelligent design. (When did you last see a BMW with a radio ariel sticking out of the bodywork? Now look at the XK's) I'm surprised jaguar have allowed this amateur & embarrassing comparison to be aired. BMW must be laughing all the way to the bank.
They don't make XK anymore there's F type now it's pretty cutting edge.
Thecougar66 I have a Jag XK I think you are referring to the old shape XK as the facelift model showing in this video doesn't have Ariel. I certainly don't have one on my XK

Jaguar will leave you looking great on the side of the road after it leaves you stranded. Make friends with the wrecker guy because if you buy a Jaguar you'll be seeing him often.
Actually BMW have a bad rep regarding reliability. How many times has your XK let you down…….oh you don’t own one, never owned one? Shame, you don’t know what your missing
I looked @ an 08 7 series with upgrade leather and it was already faded. The 750i upgraded leather was only as good as an 04 XJ8 standard leather. My 04 vanden plas has upgraded leather and I could see and feel the difference even being 4 years older. Jaguar XJ leather is better than BMW 7 series leather. The 06 bmw 3 and 5 don't even have leather as standard; you have to pay extra. The 06 jaguar x and S-type at least made it standard.

I like Jaguar a lot, because this is video made for Jaguar by Jaguar I just disregard everything. What I know to be true about Jaguar, the novelty of the great changer and air vents in xk are great and jag designers faze it out is a huge mistake. It’s fine for the XEs because those are cheap cars for people who want to look like they have money but since they don’t they at least can show they have taste.
