The Last Voyage of the Demeter I'd had it on BluRay, excellent film. No need to rebuy it. Excellent quality and one of the best honor films in years though admittedly a little slow. Looking forward to Nosferatu in 2025.
@@soshiderek I definitely need those 2 in the collection at some point. I’m hoping for price drops sooner rather than later on those. How’d you like Smile 2 in comparison to the 1st one?
@ That’s awesome!! I always love Criterion sale season. I would say I have a mixture too but leaning slightly more toward modern. What are your favorite comedies on the collection? The Albert Brooks and Wes Anderson stuff they’ve released over the years have really impressed me.
@ amazingly it’s comedies like Arsenic and Old Lace and The Princess Bride… but mostly I do Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee movies with a dash of Denzel and horror… I’m very picky about my Criterion…😸
@@CollectorMovieMan That makes sense, knew that was too good of a deal. If I didn’t have a Blu-ray I would have definitely got it. But I’m sure the standard 4K will drop in price. Is that your most anticipated release for next month?
LG has officially discontinued manufacturing its range of 4K Blu-ray players, with units only available as stocks last going forward. Samsung stopped making players a while back. Sony and Panasonic remain as the main manufacturers and we don't know how long they will continue.,
That is because LG and Samsung make awful players. Panasonic owns the 4K BR player market followed by Sony. There is a french boutique company making Oppo clones called Reavon as well as an American company Magnetar. Finally, it looks like Tascam has a 4K BR player that is coming to the market. This does not include the various options for people who rip media to digital files and playback via a physical player. Still plenty of options to keep physical media alive. As streaming prices continue to climb, don't be surprised if people revert to physical media.
@@HomeCinemaEnthusiast And January suppose to be a slow month. Can’t wait for the heavy months of physical media. Any titles you looking to get in the new year?
Incubus only claim to fame in that it was recorded in the artificial language of Esperanto. But nothing worth of mention ever happens in the movie. The Cell has some awesome set pieces but it's fairly bland too. The scenes inside the mind of the killer are visually stunning but nothing else to recommend. Vampires is a good one. Believe it or not I've never seen The Keep but want to so your guess is as good as mine. But I've heard the movies was drastically cut down for release and the footage has never resurfaced. Thanks for the heads up Mike!👍
@megamikethemovieman I have it but haven't seen it in a while. I do remember the vampires were traveling a lot. Sorry I only remember that Near Dark is good.
Don’t waste your money on Once upon a time in the west, one of the worst westerns I’ve ever seen. There are a lot more westerns that are far better. I bought that Paramount release and I’ll never watch it again.
You forgot about kill Bill kill Bill too and Jackie Brown are coming out in January

Winchester ‘73 is one of the best westerns Jimmy Stewart has ever done… a MUST BUY!!!

That’s good to know, I will definitely put my focus towards Vampires then. How would you rank that one among Carpenter’s other titles?
@megamikethemovieman it's at the top. Some people say it's a vampire western. Yeah more or less it is. Have you checked out Near Dark?🤔

Once Upon A Time In The West followed The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. But not as good a film.
