For reference, this game takes place between Metroid 1/Zero Mission and Metroid 2/Samus Returns. Samus has encountered the Space Pirates on Zebes but has yet to visit the Metroid Homeworld of SR-388 and attempt to exterminate the species.
There's also a Pirate Log on the frigate that you can scan that talks about Zebes falling as a recent event. The frigate at Talon IV had _escaped_ from Zebes during Samus's attack, which is why it has some creatures from Zebes in storage on it.
@@lucasjaramillovargas9422 the planet in Dread is entirely new, as SR-388 is destroyed at the end of Fusion to prevent the X Parasite from reproducing and finding a way off-planet.

He's known in Smash and Zero Mission as "The Cunning God of Death", both for his sheer body count and his absolute refusal to die no matter how many times Samus puts him down.
Imagine this from the Space Pirate's perspective. Your operation on Planet Zebes just fell to _The Hunter_ and during the attack you managed to board one of the only two ships that evacuated the planet. After it enters orbit around Talon IV you continue to conduct experiments on animals that you had captured on Zebes as well as those indigenous to Talon IV, only for a few experiments to go horribly wrong and wreak destruction upon the ship and death upon the crew. You manage to escape the initial carnage and, finding no escape pods remaining, set off the distress beacon in hopes that a nearby ship will assist you... before the escaped experiment crashes down on you from above and you and the rest of the crew barely manage to kill it. Then, as you lay injured among your dead and dying crewmates, the airlock finally opens, and in steps... _The Hunter._
My favorite part of this game is the memo reminding the Space Pirates that they aren’t allowed to have pets. Also I love how the Space Pirate Logs show how quickly they go from seeing Samus as a nuisance to calling her “The Hunter” and taking drastic measures to stop her

Hey, so another lore detail, in case it helps, the dragon you saw at the beginning is a boss from the first Metroid game. The implication is that after Samus beat him up last time he got cyborg-d for your re-match. Also he killed Samus' parents. Twice.
I only got into this game after watching millions of videos about it, so it's a great experience to see someone else experience it for the first time. Also, tip: Those wall writings with shimmering veils in front of them can be scanned, and they give a lot of lore about the chozo ruins which should NOT be missed.
The lore and creature scanning from Prime3 definitely shaped my interest in games (Subnautica in particular), I need to play this once it gets physical. Sometimes bosses can be re-scanned once they enter a new phase and enemies can be if they seem like a different version
The glowing walls in chozo ruins has lore to explain the story, scan it. Metroid prime is a lot like dark souls in that it tells the story via environments and optional text, but instead of items its with the scan logs. For the future, computers also have lore for space pirates.
Let's go, Quin is playing one of my favorite games. I hope you love it as much as I do. One tip I would give to a first time player scan is the bosses/enemies it will tell you their weaknesses, which will be helpful for later bosses/enemies (also, there is a secret ending if you get 100%)

Played the Prime games back in the day on the GameCube, loved them then and love them now. I'm so happy for you to experience the joy of this game in particular! Sorry to say though, you've already missed scanning some creatures. You need that to be like the first thing you do in a room, and scan bosses m u l t i p l e times because sometimes they change forms and if you don't scan them all you'll be missing an entry 🤦🏼♂️ it's tough but I learned the hard way what it feels like to miss a log entry over 20 years ago 😅
This is easily one of my favorite games of all time. I love that you noticed the ability to shoot the asteroids in the first stage--that was in the original, too. The care for detail in Metroid Prime has, to my experience, only ever been matched by Red Dead Redemption 2. I'm sure more games deserve that credit--but Prime stands out for its time. I really hope you enjoy it.
I was hoping for this ! I love this game ! I played the original on release, I remember going to the store with my dad and he got both Fusion and Prime. I had never played a Metroid game before, but I got hooked instantly ! Man, the GameCube & GBA era was the best. Anyway, have fun with this, I’m looking forward to watching your playthrough ! I love this game so much, i was 11 when this came out on gamecube and i played the crap out of it. Im glad they remastered it so people who missed it on the previous systems can play it now. its crazy playing it now with dual stick control, on the gamecube you could only move with the left stick and the right stick (C stick) was used to change beams, so to look around you had to pull the trigger which didnt allow you to move at all. The dual stick control changes everything lol I wish the game was harder though, im about 3/4 the way through and havent had any risk of dying yet. Come on nintendo and redo the second one now.

Well, timeline-wise, this is between the first and second Metroid games But also, I remember playing this on a real Gamecube as a kid and *_DANG,_*_ it looks so good!_
Here's the cliff note version of the story so far: -Samus leads happy life with parents in colony -Space Pirates attack and eat said parents -Samus gets adopted by Chozo -Samus gets genespliced, trained and given hyper advanced power armour -Samus becomes Gun for Hire for the Galactic Federation, mostly so she can keep hunting down the Space Pirates -also people keep trying to use Metroids as bio weapons, which almost always results in Samus having to swoop in and blow the planet up Also, ignore Other M.
Just for context, I think the Prime games play inbetween Metroid 1 and 2, so she's only really saved the Galaxy once by blowing up Zebes, but hasn't fully exterminated the Metroids yet. The flying Dragon is Ridley, the leader of the space pirates, which are an antagonistic force in the Metroid games, also, he's the guy that killed and consumed Samus's parents when she was a child. You "kill" Ridley in Metroid 1/ Zero Mission, but apparently he survived and came back with cybernetic enhancements. I didn't play Prime when it first came out, but I did eventually play the trilogy version when it came out on the Wii U virtual console. It's a great game, and I'm glad it's accessible for more people, now. I hope you enjoy it. Oh, and the Chozo are a bird-like humanoid species that was very advanced, but eventually vanished, and now nobody knows what happened to them. They are the ones who adopted Samus when her entire colony was destroyed by space pirates. They gave her some of their DNA, which is why she has superhuman capabilities, and then gave her her suit. Sorry, I'm just kinda updating this comment as questions come up in the video. Also, looking for the 12 artifacts is very much not optional and is eventually required to beat the game. Most of them are only accessible later on, though, I think.

The Incinerator Drone wasps are unique as well

Here's the cliff note version of the story so far:
-Samus leads happy life with parents in colony
-Space Pirates attack and eat said parents
-Samus gets adopted by Chozo
-Samus gets genespliced, trained and given hyper advanced power armour
-Samus becomes Gun for Hire for the Galactic Federation, mostly so she can keep hunting down the Space Pirates
-also people keep trying to use Metroids as bio weapons, which almost always results in Samus having to swoop in and blow the planet up
Also, ignore Other M.
Just for context, I think the Prime games play inbetween Metroid 1 and 2, so she's only really saved the Galaxy once by blowing up Zebes, but hasn't fully exterminated the Metroids yet. The flying Dragon is Ridley, the leader of the space pirates, which are an antagonistic force in the Metroid games, also, he's the guy that killed and consumed Samus's parents when she was a child.
You "kill" Ridley in Metroid 1/ Zero Mission, but apparently he survived and came back with cybernetic enhancements.
I didn't play Prime when it first came out, but I did eventually play the trilogy version when it came out on the Wii U virtual console. It's a great game, and I'm glad it's accessible for more people, now. I hope you enjoy it.
Oh, and the Chozo are a bird-like humanoid species that was very advanced, but eventually vanished, and now nobody knows what happened to them. They are the ones who adopted Samus when her entire colony was destroyed by space pirates. They gave her some of their DNA, which is why she has superhuman capabilities, and then gave her her suit.
Sorry, I'm just kinda updating this comment as questions come up in the video.
Also, looking for the 12 artifacts is very much not optional and is eventually required to beat the game. Most of them are only accessible later on, though, I think.
