Thanks for the video. It's so nice that there are people like you who are willing to put these videos up to help those of us who don't know how to do these things.
I had watched this before going into a brake light replacement on my friend's car just to see what I would be up against since my last car was a pain to change lights on. Surprisingly easy, took me all of 2 minutes for both lights. No different than the switch/light holders on illuminated arcade buttons.
Thanks a million for your very clear, step-by-step video. I really appreciate it. I am now going to the police station to prove that I fixed my brake light.
Thats for the video..I was about to go to the mechanic...neighber saw that my rear brake light was out...I am going to do this myself...I like my mechanic but I can image what he would charge when we know the bulb is just a few dollars...I am glad there are a few minors things a lady can do!
So because I’ve always had Fords in my life I assumed you had to remove the housing... I just about had it off when I decided to look it up...and you’re all “...Just turn this little unit a bit counterclockwise...” I was like “ARE YOU JOKING ME?! THIS IS REDACTED!l or something like that. Anyway, thanks. It helped a lot
It all looks smooth and easy until i could not pull the bulb out of the socket. It is too hard that it can be broken if tough pressure on. How can you do this ? Thank you
do you have a video on how to replace the reverse light LENS instead of just the bulb? my lens is cracked and I need to change the whole thing. thanks!
It looks easy enough and I'm trying to do this myself but those clips that hold the trim cover are VERY hard to remove. They rotate within the socket but they don't look like they're budging. I'm using a flathead screw driver to try prying them off but I'm afraid of breaking them so I'm just going to have my mechanic do it for me since he has the right tools. I was hoping to do it myself. :-(
Your car might have different panel fasteners than mine. Mine simply lifted out with a prying tool. Even if they break, replacements can be found at any auto parts store. Good luck and thanks for watching!
First of all, thanks for your reply and for posting such a helpful video. Well, good news. I managed to get the burned-out bulb replaced. The tool that helped me get those trim cover fasteners off was "push pin pliers." I picked them up at Harbor Freight Tools for $10. If you don't have these in your tool box, I highly recommend getting a pair. They will come in handy next time I need to change a burned-out bulb where I have to remove the trim cover. Nice
Thanks for posting 👊🏻
Thanks so much!
How do you get the bulb out of the socket? I’ve tried wiggling and twisting it, and it seems stuck in there.
Usually they just twist out, sometimes with a push inward first. If its corroded you might want to try some electrical contact cleaner.
thanks for this. I only had to spend $6 instead of $30!
You're welcome and thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you 👍🙌
Hi! Can you do a video on the rear reflector lights? I have a toyota corolla and need to replace one of my reflector lights!
Please make a video of the same model for trunk light wiring. My corolla 2009 trunk light is not working. Bulb is ok. Thanks.
Could be the switch or a broken wire most likely. I don't have this car anymore.
@@TheOriginalMechanic Well no problem. Thanks for your time.
do you have a video on how to replace the reverse light LENS instead of just the bulb? my lens is cracked and I need to change the whole thing. thanks!
I do not have that.
What brand is the bulb 921? Or which one did you buy?
I can't recall the brand, but I usually buy Sylvania.
So easy I did it...
Great job my friend
Thanks for watching and commenting
My car is Toyota Corolla 08 and there are some differences than yours
hello in mine tail light is working but when i press break then break light in not working . any help ?

You're welcome and way to stick with it!
If i brake does the 921 bulb goes on?
No, it only comes on in reverse and mainly to provide lighting to help you see what's back there.
How about other models?!
Anyone know why my backup light won’t rotate
My burnt tail light will not rotate at all 😪it's so stuck
Why is it important to wear gloves when changing the bulbs. Is there a chance of getting shocked?
Not at all. I wear them for aesthetics. I find it cuts down on negative commentary about my hands.
It does not show every step and also it's not easy to put your hand into the rear end of the assembly coz it's too tight.
Thanks
Thanks for the help!!
Thank you
You're welcome.
