There's a guy in my city who decorates his father's house every year at Halloween and Xmas. He's a contractor, so he has 3 Halloween themes: skeleton pirate ship, Egyptian theme, and western skeleton cowboys and Indians. Plus a plethora of additional pieces, animations, etc. It more than makes up for people who don't decorate
Nobody does it where I live anymore in the North East of the UK. I was born in 98 and even when I was growing up, there was still almost every house with decorations. Same with Christmas now
I'm in tears. I'm so happy to see people celebrating Halloween like this. All the holiday enthusiasm and the kids together with their community. This is so beautiful. Please keep this alive
Kids who grow up in climates like this... don't take it for granted. You get the idyllic seasons that only exist in our dreams or the movies. Grew up in Florida. The closest we got to this in FL, was watching Swamp Thing or Alligator II or Jaws. The people who put all this together did an amazing job.
This is absolute perfection. The dusk, the streetlamps illuminating the orange sugar maples. The sound of kids just having a blast, being kids. Crunching leaves underfoot. You really nailed it here!
I get the Halloween vibe watching this!! Its absolutely wonderful. Here in northeast Tennessee the trunk or treat fad has almost ended door to door Trick ir treating. Makes me sad because this video reminds me of my childhood Halloween nights.
I had not heard of Trunk or Treat until your comment. I've googled it. WTF?! That's, well, I don't know what it is. I was thinking a 'safer' alternative, but Trick of Treating isn't dangerous as the parents go around with them anyway. I don't understand what it's trying to achieve.
I'm only 9 minutes into the video and I hit the thumbs up right away! This video takes me back to when I was a child at Halloween!! Where I live at in the US, I don't see this volume of trick-or-treaters anymore. That looks like an incredible neighborhood like the ones I remember. I would love to see the same neighborhood at Christmas!
In South Africa we do not celebrate halloween (sadly) Also open yard houses are very rare...Everything in this video is so dream like...kind of scary..Thank you for this gift. Many like me will never get to travel and see different places.. This allows us to be there
It's because these "globe" style street lamps do a better job at lighting the sky than the ground, and in the U.S. there's a stronger push to reduce both sky glow and energy use. This is generally true in Canada as well, although this looks like a historical district and they may have an exemption.
This town is lively and Halloween is remind of 80s and the movie like E.T, Halloween, Scary Stories to tell in the dark. It’s feel nostalgic and wish we were young to have a chance of the lifetime in Halloween and go on that timeline we love so much with family and friends....even in afterlife.
I like how people are standing outside handing out candy - there are certainly enough kids out and it's not too cold to be doing that. This reminds me more of when I was growing up...unfortunately Halloween doesn't seem as popular these days. Never know how many trick or treaters you will get!
I live in Galt. It has some beautiful old homes, but this video only shows the older area with the beautiful lights and Victorian homes. I live not far from here, nice neighborhood. I would love to live on Lock Ness or in Cotswold over Galt Anytime.
This is exactly what I experienced in the 70s, and what (I hope) many kids are still experiencing in smaller cities. Too many "trunk or treat" activities taking over, I'm afraid
Thank you for your kind words. I truly love my home country and its special communities like this that makes it feel all the more magical to live here. Welcome.
Such nostalgia. It reminds me of Halloween as a kid (1960s), only there were a lot more kids out trick or treating. Absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much for this.
Omg if id not watched this I wouldn't have believed it. This is as close to Halloween perfection as you can get. I'm from the UK where we celebrate Halloween but not om this level. Went to Halloween horror nights in Universal studios Hollywood years ago and that's still the best Halloween ever for me
The clarity of the video is incredible. I also like the eerie background music. It is subtle, yet somewhat disturbing. I really appreciate how so many of the homes participate in handing out candy and decorating for the trick-or-treaters. Also, I love those street lights! They fit into the scene perfectly, as you see them stretching off into the distance. Really gives you a sense of how long the street is. An absolutely great video, thank you for sharing! 🎃🎃🎃🎃 PS--By the way, do you know what type of liquid that gentleman was offering in the test tubes to the trick-or-treaters?
This is such lovely community vibes!! I feel like Halloween in the UK has kind of fizzled out and it’s such a shame because it’s a nice community activity where you get to say hello to neighbours and have a bit of fun.
I miss going trick or treating. But in Saskatchewan 🌾. it could be a nice fall evening or -45 winter with snow on the ground for Halloween 🎃 👻. I always hated putting on my winter jacket over my Halloween costume.
that neighborhood looks so beautiful. I love the lamp posts. It's nice to see kids with their parents having fun for Halloween. Im in the UK and nothing happens in the neighrhoods, just drunks from the pubs being obnoxious.
Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for. I love halloween but I live in a country where it is not celebrated and I was looking for a video where I can get the feeling of it.
This is totally it! The only thing is, in the last 5 yrs or so, fear has taken over, and more parents take their children to a "trunk or treat". People are in a large parking lot (a Walmart, in my city it's at the beach), and I don't know if kids drive through and collect from their car, or whether the people giving away candy have it in the boot of their car, to distribute from there. Sad that it's not like this all over
@@LindaC616 It is little bit sad to hear this. I always dreamed about visiting once during halloween in the future so I could see it in real life. It wouldn't be the same if I would see this "trunk or treat" instead of the original.
@istvangulyas6644 it can still happen. This was just last year. NYC, I think many stay in their apartment bldgs. Just go to smaller towns. And Salem. Halloween rules supreme in Salem, MA!
@istvangulyas6644 but I was thinking of you the other day when I asked the person who was doing my hair what Trunk-or-Treat was exactly, since I don't have kids. She said you decorate the trunk of your car (maybe you call it the boot if you use British English), and the kids go from car to car picking out their treats. Sad. They don't even have to "work" for all of that candy. When I was a child, we would go out for a couple of hours, because I lived on a lake where the houses were all close together. We basically went around the lake. And we worked hard to get out of that candy! 😄
@@LindaC616 This Trunk or Treat still sounds weird to be honest although I am curious how could look like the different a decorated trunks of cars 😀 Your story from about Trick or Treating around a lake sounds awesome, I hope you had a great time than 😊

The house with crime scene tape was really creepy. The house itself was perfect for that Halloween night chills. Thank you for a great walk 😱
