From Ireland. Thank you for positive reporting and an analysis on Medj. In August 1985 I made a pilgrimage along with about 40 others. It was organised by a local newly formed Medj prayer group. We had 2 Priests as our spiritual guides. It was a most beautiful, joyful faith filled week of my life. Lots & lots of prayer & penance. The following year my 2 teenage daughters went with a youth group. My 14 yr old grandson went for Youth week 5 yrs ago. Thank God and his Holy for the graces and blessings which has come and will come to the World though Medjugorje. 🙏☘️

The Akita apparitions have been approved by the Church; by Pope Benedict XVI. But it's not as well publicized as Medj. In the US, the only approved apparition is Our Lady of Champion, near Green Bay, Wisconsin. But again, it's not as well publicized as Medj. Publicity makes a lot of difference.
Way too many errors in what Mary apparently said to these “seers”. Anytime you have a gathering of the faithful, of course the Holy Spirit is there and working. The seers and the city have made millions of dollars. I’m thankful we aren’t forced by the church to believe in Medjugorje. Remember, the devil can deceive the faithful.
Jade, I agree. I have 3 problems about the supposed messages from Medj: 1. Our Blessed Mother supposedly told the seers that the date of her Nativity is August 4, not September 8. For centuries, the Church has been celebrating Mary's Nativity on September 8. How come it's only now that the Blessed Mother is correcting this major "error"? 2. She was supposed to have told at least one seer that Our Lord Jesus considers all religions to be equal. 3. She was supposed to have told the seers that the most saintly person in the whole Bosnia-Herzogovina area was a Muslim woman. WTH - not even a Christian? For Catholics in the US who want to make a pilgrimage to Our Lady, the approved shrines of authentic apparitions closer to home than far-off Medjugorije are: Our Lady of Champion near Green Bay, Wisconsin and Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City.

This seems to be another vague conclusion from the DDF. In 1985, Vitska (sp) one of the original three girls to first report visions of Our Lady, is startled, blinks, and moves back from a reporter's (Jean Louis) per Prof Louis Berlanger) hand who pokes his finger toward the left side of her face. Whereas the girls at Garabendal while in ecstacy, could not be distracted in the least, people even tried to lift them up and could not even move them! Further, Vitska herself, after the incident, wanted to explain what happened. She states that right at that same exact moment, she thought the Blessed Mother was quote, "going to drop the baby Jesus" and so, she flinched back. First, do you really think the Blessed Mother delivering a message from heaven is all of a sudden going to drop the baby Jesus? Second, would you move back, or would you move forward to catch the baby (Jesus in this case)? And All of This is On Film-Watch it for yourself! "Its ridiculous" as Fr. Additionally, if you think you can just call up (conjure) the Holy Spirit at will for messages, then these are not heavenly messages, "...then you are at a séance, its blasphemous!" Fr. @@marietta1335 I know. I am just surprised that the Vatican even bothered to come out with that report. It doesn't say anything new. I might be wrong but I have a feeling that it will never be approved. Have you ever been to Champion Wisconsin? I thought about going there someday.
@@charflorida5433 I also have the feeling Medj will never be approved, especially since the CDF has ruled that apparitions henceforth would be assessed only on whether the messages do not conflict with Church teachings (Nihil Obstat), no longer on whether it has supernatural origin or not. Yes, I've been to Champion, Wisconsin. It's a very peaceful place, much smaller and less grand than the shrines of Fatima, Lourdes or Guadalupe. But that's because it has been approved by the Vatican only in 2009. It's beautiful in its simplicity and the pilgrims I met were joyful and prayerful. The story of the 1859 apparitions in Champion is simple but heartwarming. Our Lady identified herself to Adele Brise as the "Queen of Heaven" and told her to gather the children in the woodsy Green Bay area and teach them catechism and how to pray. When Adele said she herself did not know enough about the faith, Blessed Mother Mary told her not to be afraid, for she would be with her. Adele went on foot door-to-door in all kinds of weather, inviting the children to come to her makeshift classroom. Often times, she had to do housework for a family just to let the kids come to her. It's a simple message for simple people, but the results were extraordinary. Great miracles happened, such as people fleeing to her school for safety during the great fire of Phestigo; starving families finding food at their doorsteps; a large, violent schismatic group of "Old Catholics" was driven from the area through intercession to Our Lady. Sick people were healed and there were many converts. The shrine was formerly called "Our Lady of Good Help," because that's the title of Mary popular among the Belgian immigrants of the area. But recently, the shrine was renamed "Our Lady of Champion" after the place of the apparitions, Champion township. I also read that the USCCB has formed a commission for the cause of beatification of Adele Brise. I went there with a group of relatives from Chicago. We went to Mass. The people in the shrine were joyful and prayerful, listening to the story of the apparitions from priests who were there to help and hear confessions. Of course, after the pilgrimage, we went over the the Green Bay baseball park and had some fun touring the site.
Why Catholics are looking for a special "mystical" places when we claim that the living God is in Holy Eucharist in every Church in the World? What else do we need? There is nothing more anywhere.
@@truelight8550 it’s more likely something which occurred in the hearts of the visionaries themselves, as they remain close to Our Lady and appear to be spiritually following the Catholic faith tradition, but it cannot be proven to be genuinely caused by God.

@@JennyHawes they are saying it’s in the lives of the visionaries and their own relationship with God, how it has enriched their lives with the visions and messages. But “supernatural” indicates it absolutely was caused by God. More likely, it was caused by the children praying, fasting and otherwise leading good Catholic lives.
THIS QUITE UPSETTING! THERE ARE MANY, MANY STRANGE AND UNIDRNTIFYING MESSAGES FROM THIS APPARITION! I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT IT IS THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY! I AM SO SAD AND CONCERNED ABOUT THIS. I PRAY OUR LORD WILL SEND OUR LADY TO EXPOSE THIS LIE.
That happens in many Catholic sites, too. Anywhere where there is a Tabernacle where the Body and Blood of the Lord are reserved; where there is Holy Mass, and there are priests who hear confessions. Try going to Lourdes, Fatima, Akita, La Salette, Guadalupe, Champion, and other places where Mary's apparitions have been approved. Medjugorie apparitions are not approved, but people going there are tolerated.
The messages say nothing special, anybody can make it. Apparitions play in people’s believe in magic. Somebody sees something hidden yet nobody else see anything, plays into wild imagination of old pre Christian religions. It is also a great business. Bottom line is if God is present everywhere why would you need to go to Medjugorie?
Could you not interrupt Dr. Dodd when she was explaining the 6 areas that the DDF made in regards to some of the more problematic issues of Medjugore. She was stopped after 3 by the interviewer. This interviewer should learn to give time to people she is interviewing and ask appropriate questions, because otherwise she is just going for quick soundbites. EWTN should avoid being a Catholic CNN, but allow for more in depth analysis of events. Very weak interview.

They are still calling it "alleged"?
ABSOLUTELY ...
Of course it's "alleged." It hasn't been approved like Our Lady of Champion apparitions in Wisconsin.
Still not clear!
Talking out of BOTH SIDES OF MOUTH to placate ALL.
@@tinadavy3990 exactly. I expected some clarification, yet this is still confusing word salad.

STOP ✋ UR EUPHORIA THERE'S NOOO VIRGIN MARY THERE !
Why Catholics are looking for a special "mystical" places when we claim that the living God is in Holy Eucharist in every Church in the World? What else do we need? There is nothing more anywhere.
What does it mean that it is not considered supernatural?
@@truelight8550 it’s more likely something which occurred in the hearts of the visionaries themselves, as they remain close to Our Lady and appear to be spiritually following the Catholic faith tradition, but it cannot be proven to be genuinely caused by God.
I actually would like to override that for the church- for the people, her whole entire point is that we do not have to go through a man, She is our Heart
That sounds like a heretical fruit😮

Wow! In that it is... yes. In that it isn't... no!
all I can say is that I was turned off when I met the alleged visionary in Culver City, he had the BVG to appear on call….
It is a place of prayer and penance, the mountain of apparition is a profound encounter , years ago older people barefoot , praying 🙏
Infested with demonic activity and ravaged by chaos, wars, sex traffic and money laundering. Just some of the bad fruits. Medju is a massive fraud and this news is scandalous!
❤️❤️❤️
Our Blessed mother is appearing ,isn't that supernatural?
Your caps lock is stuck
@@Flintlock1776 Sorry bout that.
Today thousands of young old and those who convert and do penance, climbing rigid mountain, fasting prayers it’s a land of Our Lady
Despite the seers being frauds - preternatural- not supernatural.
@@petersiska7510 great point you have made.
@@tomek5019 I agree 100%! It makes the interview harder to follow.
Very much like Lourdes , you sense Mother Mary is there … fruits
Non-sense! Medju is a cult. “Highest level…*”You cultist already are misled thinking that Medju is now on par with or on the same level as Fatima, Lourdes, and Good Success. What a joke - confusion on top of confusion. No local ordinary or bishop of the diocese has approved, ever, for very good reasons. Fruits are from receiving sacraments and making a sacrificial pilgrimage, regardless of the place. And there are bad fruits often not being reported…
*under new norms (supernatural origin not required)
😊Mary is a Divine Incarnation, just as Jesus.
The Vatican didn't say the messages were from Mary. People go there in sincere faith. But how do you explain the "visionaries'" getting rich off this?

another Cdl. Fernández type document with a genius for yes and no simultaneously within a mostly dense intellectual structure that allows this type of half full /half empty debate ad infinitum.

For those with faith no proof is necessary, For those without, no proof is enough.
@brianburnett4956 Indeed, he was just as ignorant about Medjugorje as he is on other matters. The actual Church has warned not to focus on the visionaries. Read about the visionaries of La Salette and the lives they lead.
So in the future you are saying it can never be approved as supernatural, the first 7 days were, why not now or in the future, all the scientists did tests and came to the conclusion they were in ecstacy, no one could keep this up all these years if otherwise.
“Community” our lady of communism
This is a disaster. It is NOT Our Lady that appears there. This is a modernist mama. This is a disgrace. The Bishop in the beginning, did not want to approve this false apparition. Our Lady never appears for such a long time, she only comes to say what is necessary for salvation. This is like a charismatic movement. Comes from protestantism. It’s OK if you want to ‘feel’ good.
Hey Catherine. It's not pronounced Magicgoria. It's beginning Medj.

Amazing they want you to travel to this tourist trap, but not to seek out the visionaries, that pretty much says it all about this scam.
Exactly. Instead go to Champion Wisconsin for pilgrimage. The only truly APPROVED Marian apparition right here in the USA. And it’s a great place to visit, not a war torn hellhole like Medju.
Medjugorje is beautiful and it’s far from a war torn hellhole. Bosnia and Croatia are gorgeous and very safe.

@@deb9ragorton742 deb9...Try not to get discouraged. The Mystical Body of Christ, the Church, is "One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic" because Christ is One and Holy. Our Lord is the founder of this Church himself, and being the Word made flesh, the second person of the Most Holy Trinity, he certainly knew that some placed in authority would not be good shepherds. Our Lord, lest we forget, chose Judas and Peter, but even after denying Our Lord three times Peter repented, and was still the first pope! Our Lord said of Judas, "it were better for him, if that man had not been born" (Mt 26: 24). What has been declared as dogmatic truths through Divine Revelation directly and in Scripture, and through Apostolic Tradition, in addition to the countless Holy men and women saints, members of Christ's mystical body- like you and I- (and some great popes and bishops too!!) prove we have nothing to fear!
Draw close to Our Lord, pray the rosary every day, ask Our Lady for her loving, motherly (Perpetual Help) go to confession and the Eucharistic Lord often and all will be well. Remember, that as Catholic's, fire fighters don't run from fires... I will pray for you, and please, pray for me. Ave Maria.
l agree with you !!! So sad !!!
Would you leave Jesus and apostles because of Judas? Think about it...I don't believe initial apparitions in Medjugorje were from God. I believe God said to Satan...you wanted to copy me as a monkey also at apparitions? Let me show you how much good I can bring out of this. The amount of conversions and new priests coming from Medjugorje thanks to prayers and faith at that place will be destroying you until the End. Don't leave the Church, hold to its authority and pray.
If you are contemplating leaving the Church I'm afraid you don't understand the Church. When Jesus said "the gates of Hell will not prevail" He meant it. Brace yourself. It is going to get worse before it gets better. Stay close to the sacraments, scripture and the catechism. No one is supposed to believe in ANY apparition - even Fatima. Apparitions won't save you.
