Great vid guys!!! And Gav FYI - gold skull guy you spotted in the museum is Ogon Bat aka Skull Bat aka Gold Skull - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%8Cgon_Bat
Thanks Matt!
The best part about Sundays along with a nice roast dinner or Spag Bol!!! Smashing.....!!!!!!
Well you guys are the laurel & hardy of the toys world..🙂✌️✌️
Nothing better then Coming home from MCM comic at NEC, to watch episode 2 of Toy shop on Tour.... Thanks Lads.
Thanks Leo
Just at the end of watching. Guess what I'm watching it again straight away. Love ❤️ it.
Ah thanks Chris!!
So glad you guys had to meet fabrizio he's an institution in the world of Italian collectors...and his museum rulez. We share the same name and we are both from venezia!
Thanks very much! What a guy and what a place!!
What a museum, you could be spend a week and still see new, what a shop Fabio has, amazing stock
Thanks Russell, we had lots of fun!
Joe, Gav and Matt making Sunday mornings fun again! 👏
Thanks Dusty!
I have 3 streaming services and 500 channels of cable TV yet this is hands down the best thing I've seen! Series 2 even better!!!
Thanks Chris!!
HOLY MOLY ...UNBELIEVABLE .. THANK YOU Guys for sharing ... Amazing how much Japanese influence there is ...
Thanks Italy has some amazing toys!
Just like everything else in Milan, that toyshop is Heaven 😍
100% we loved it! Fabio and Georgiana are great fun and have an amazing shop
Absolutely superb, Italy is the gift that keeps on giving
Thanks Nigel!
This is such a great episode. The best compliment I can give it is that as I am watching it I am looking forward to re-watching it again soon.
Thanks Ben!!
The likeness between Gav and Brian is startling! 😂 😂 😂
💯!!
Love it made my Sunday
Thanks Symon
Love the Larry Bird shirt! Great show guys! 👍👍

M G!!! Thank you both!!!!
Italia is amazing!!
Another fantastic episode.🤖👍
Thanks Allister
Yet another great episode.I liked the maximillion and the boxed Vincent.
Can't wait for episode 3.
Thanks for watching!
Top show guys, what a treasure trove Italy is! As a Micronaut collector with fond childhood memories of Rimini, I need to go back!
It is an amazing place to find toys
I look forward to Sunday mornings again 😀
Toys make us happy! Thanks Aaron!
24:20 the Big Jim Tiger from 1976 was a reuse of the tool from the Tarzan Jungle Cat from 1971 - they only have 3 out of 4
Super info thanks
Really enjoyed the Italian visit! Surprised by the items that can be found there but not surprised by Gav's toy of the country 🤣Great job guys, just gets better and better🤘
Thanks Dave and Camilla!
Italy gave us so much more than we expected hard to top that
100% agree Italy was amazing! We can’t wait to go back.
Thanks for watching.
Another fantastic episode gentleman. That Tiger Electronics Store display though, wow! Did you ever get a price for it?
I really wanted it!! But sadly no one could come up with a price, he didn't really want to sell it I don't think
The character around the 27 minute mark in the cape is Golden Bat, a Japanese film character from a 1966 film.
Finally that’s been bugging us!
Ah thanks very much!
Really enjoying this series..Fantastic viewing for any age and gives off a great feel good factor… credit also to Matt for the production, can’t be easy on your own.
Thanks Timothy, it’s a lot of work! 👍🎥
Matt is a genius!
What an awesome awesome series so far. The pure joy toys can inspire in someone never fails to amaze me. You can see Joe and Gav's eyes light up every time they see something they love. So wholesome.
Ah thanks Jimbo! What a lovely comment
Amazing! What a cool trip. I’m sure you got to meet some really interesting collectors too
People made the trip extra special certainly. We really missed Leonardo and Gloria when we left them
@@leicestervintagetoyshop It's terrific that you had them because you give the distinct impression of being undaunted by being in a completely different country - I guess it's a lot easier when you have local assistance to get over language / culture barriers. Very smart move.
Italy certainly was superb!! Some amazing places. I loved the Ulysses 31 section in the museum 😍. Looking forward to the next country 😊👍🕹️
Thanks Ed! Just 5 countries to go!
Easily the best item bought that I agree gav, amazing!! Fantastic episode lads and they were are all so friendly too which is nice to see 😊
Amazing people, amazing toys!!
@@leicestervintagetoyshop definitely!
You know how you guys felt going around that amazing museum. Look but can’t buy! That’s how we feel every time we watch this show 😂 another fantastic episode. I so want to go to that shop in Milan 😱 can’t beat a bit of battle of the planets
It’s a tricky one! The shop in Milan was awesome!!
That was awesome 😀
Thanks very much!
The royalty-free ska is my fav!
Wow driving through Europe buying vintage toys? Sign me up!
Had my Dai-X detector going off again! I love how they're just sat out of boxes like, shyeah, whatevs. I wonder why we didn't get more ports of anime, they clearly got translated into every language going apart from English for the most part in the 80s! Although I think it's telling that shows like Gatchaman that we got as Battle of the Planets only happened with a lot of editing down for violence which must have required more effort to produce than just a dub. Spotted Ulysses 31 too. Funnily enough I was in Venice briefly during a school trip in the mid eighties and remember being agog at a Scorponok Transformer in a shop window because we didn't get him over here. I also recall pigeons!
Excellent
Thanks Dan!
Wow, that venice shop was something special. First thing you see are those carded flexies. My eye immediately went to the giant grendizer and the huge spazer. That’s quite a rare piece. Come to think of it, the jumbo machinder grendizer I have came from a chap in Italy. Chogokins are huge over there, we’re seeing them in every shop. I would have tried to get the jumbo tetsujin, lol.
Another great episode chaps, why o why is this not been picked up by regular TV?
Lobby the networks!! 😂
Great video. I loved your first toyshop on tour and this is looking to be an epic series 2. For me the best part of this episode has to be Leonardo picking up The other world toys at 47:22. Better known as Cosmo Crass in Italy. My favorite toyline but sadly one of the most under-represented toylines ever on youtube.
Thanks very much! We love Leo!
Fabulous guys - Italy looked like such a blast. Some amazing toys!! Have an awesome one!
Thanks for watching! Italy was awesome!
Brilliant episode and even the wife watched it all the way through🙂
Well done Retrofreak and a special shout out for your wife! Thanks for watching!
This series should not be on UA-cam! You deserve a show on Channel 4!!!!!!
Perfect!! Lovely stuff! Sunday just got alot better! Another great episode guys 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩😍😉👍
Thanks Andrew!
Joe if Leicester need a striker when maddison at the world cup will get them to give you a ring 👍
He’s very fast as well over 5 yards. Problem is it’s just 5 yards.
🤣🤣
Another fab one guys - how good was Italy!?! Really interesting to see lots of different toys that just don't pop up over here. Do enjoy seeing you delve into the old die-cast cars too 👍 Looking forward to part 3 already! 🤩
Thanks Rob!
Wow all those really old classics like magilla gorilla! I hope they remake all those old toys and i'd really like to see some new super7 or neca Hannah Barbera and looney tunes and captain planet! Also another episode I watched recently I saw Snorks!!! I totally loved the snorks growing up as i'm 41.
Wow that Eternia! I really want to get the new one but I think it's like over $500!
By the way did ya'll eat any horse while in italy? Saw a show once about it.
This a huge comment as I keep seeing so much I have to mention! I stopped by an amazing shop in Houston tx that reminded me a lot of the places you guys visit. They had an original megatron in box, a huge ghost busters diorama, and so many items like motu classics, huge boxed transformers and one thing i've been looking for the 90's crash dummie toys and he has an almost mint box car fron the line. I almost died and it's now one of my favorite shops.
Let me know if you ever come to Houston tx and i'll meet you at misfit toys lol!
Another fabulous video about the amazing Italian collectible stores 🏬
Thanks very much!
A pleasure to watch. Amazing toys. looking forward to your next installment
Thanks Ned!
I’m starving for new episodes! Even if you guys revisit the same stores from Europe would be fine by me. 😊 The footage and overall editing, is pro level stuff and as good as any TV show I’ve ever seen.
Not long to wait! The Italian job drops Dec 26th for ep 1 and Jan 1st for ep 2. Go watch the trailer!
@@leicestervintagetoyshop Right on ✊🏼!
What a lovely Chanel guys! First time I see it and already love it. Very different stuff you show here compare to most of the toy channels on UA-cam. Keep the good work up. You have one more follower here now. Cheers!
We appreciate that comment very much! Thanks and welcome to the channel!
Good to have you on board 👌
I know it's an hour but it needs to be longer! :-D can't wait for the next episode
Thanks Ed!! Hope you are enjoying your trip!
@@leicestervintagetoyshop i get to trip through your videos man 🙌😄
Fantastic episode gents some awesome pick ups in this episode.
Thanks very much!! We should have bought a lot more, we’ll just have to go again!
Just the thing to wake up to after a long and exhausted nap. Thanks boys!
Thanks Yak!
Good fun watching Gav in the garage going redder and redder. Hot in there was it?
Ha! It was mentally hot throughout the entire trip!!
Fantastic stuff, guys! I didn’t want it to end.
Thanks very much!
Love these tours.
Gav needs to visit the Cabbage Patch HQ in Cleveland, Georgia. 😀
2:28 I don't know if you eventually asked the shop owner, but those ceramic figures are Caballero and Carmencita, the characters from an old and very popular series of stop motion TV commercials for Lavazza coffee (it was the "Paulista" brand, so the little animated stories had a mexican setting... you'll find many videos here on UA-cam). You'll notice that they're shaped like conical moka coffee makers: in fact, "Carmencita" is also the name of an iconic moka coffee maker that's sold even today.
Thanks so much for making these
Another great video, guys! A lot to go at (again!)
Skank Bloc Bologna! Those Bonanza figures Were Louis Marx, late 60s, wasn't the big guy called Hoss? Little Joe was the youngest of the Cartwright family I think, I'm going off my rapidly failing memory, I refuse to Google it beforehand, that's cheating!
All the Japanese stuff is great, even the cheap rubbishy ones are cool...the less said about that brief glimpse of the Dick Tracy figure, the better. Can you say "Peg Warmer?" Truly horrible toy line, some things can be so bad they're good, that toy line was so bad they were crap...
I had loads of those Smoking Monkey things, dead cheap from joke shops, real pocket money magnets! Those Laurel and Hardy heads look like they might have been linked to the Larry Harmon comics, they're in a very similar style. Titus looks like a member of that ropey 80s metal band Manowar! Google some photos of them back in the day. Unbelievable...
That Mego Thor looked as though it was deliberately posed to look like the campest Viking in Scandinavia! "Less ale, more Timotei!"
Kriminal was (is) a Fumetti (little puffs of smoke, Italian for Speech bubbles) character, an example of the villain being the central character, like Diabolik. He was a viscous bastard, a murderer and a rapist, not the sort of comic you'd give to kids. In fact, you'd ask questions about any adults enjoying them...shudder...
Love the museum, but I'd have serious toy envy just being in there, not only 'can't buy', but 'can't touch'! Gaaah! Impressive collection of Jeegs, Takara did loads of them but we only got Baron Karza and Force Commander in the Micronauts line, although I did get a Falcon in a sale shop in Manchester in the mid 80s...gave it away. Sigh. Loved the Jumbo Mazingers( did I mention I managed to get one..?), again they made loads in Japan, if you're collecting them, you'd need a spare house to put them in! Didn't know about the Jaws Shark. It's a wind up shark. With a sticker on its head saying "Jaws". Pffft. Loved the Ultraman clock, that's a front room item and conversation piece, don't hide it away in the toy room!
Anyway, that's more than enough of my rubbish, I'm as tired of writing it as you are of reading it ( that's if you've even got this far!) Looking forward to next weeks ep, bet you're not looking for to my comments!
Great work, Guys!👍👍👍😁
Thanks Dave (we always read the comments) there was loads to take in in this episode and plenty added in your comments. As ever thanks for watching glad you are enjoying the show
I live near French Lick, Indiana, so it's wild to see you wear that Larry Bird shirt in Italy. Love these videos!
Love Larry Legend! Thanks for watching!
What a watch. Loved it. I have to ask, did Matt get any Laurel & Hardy stuff?
Another brilliant episode! That museum looks very special, would love to visit one day. Loved the Tiger Electronics display unit, did we find out if it was for sale?
We skirted round the price a bit. I don’t think any of us was sure about value. We’d have liked it though
BRIAN!!!!
Legend!
Grandi !
Thankyou!!
I love your glasses Joe, who makes the frames? I enjoy watching you guys! Great show!
Cubitts. Surprisingly not too expensive either!
Thanks for watching!
Compulsive viewing. You keep making programs this good then Netflix are going to make you mainstream!
Thanks very much!!
Omg I want that Michael Jackson sticker ❤
Gav - "Be you Angels?" are you referencing Tenacious D? 🤟
I was indeed :)
When looking at the Mego figures at around 27.32 min into your video, It's a shame that you did not mention or point out the Baravelli Tex Willer figures that were also in that cabinet, especially as you were in Italy. They were exclusive to Italy, and are extreamly rare. Tex Willer used a variation of the same head sculpt that was used by Mego fot their Bruce Wayne/Jet Jungle/Mystery Astronaut figures. For Kit Willer Baravelli used a retooled Planet of the Apes Astronaut head.
We could have stayed there all day filming and we wouldn’t have got everything. Amazing place.
You should credit the stores you visit so we can go too! :)
We will be doing at the end of the series, also we always get a shot of the sign outside so you can go to (unless there isn’t a sign like in Bologna)!
I've really been enjoying making my way through your vids. Just one problem... you make me want to buy classic 80's toys - swines! 🤪
Europe for season 2.... USA for season 3?
We hope so! Or maybe somewhere else?
@@leicestervintagetoyshop Ooooooo... look forward to it.
Love it, another great episode, can you tell me the name of the shop in Milan.
34:40 Ertl Character Cars middle and top shelf.
I had some of those including the "Shirt Tales".
Curious as well is Matt the camera guy a collector as well? Just wondering if he has an affinity for toys or is it just another camera job? We don't hear enough about the man that captures all the magic! By the way send me some dinoriders at that price lol! Was it $25 lol! I miss that hammerhead guy
Deffo not just another job for Matt. He loves all types of nostalgia and refers to TSOT as a passion project. He says he’s not a collector but his collection says otherwise! 😂
@@leicestervintagetoyshop nice lol!
I have a lucky chogoink franky that I sleep every night it’s my favorite toy my lucky chogoink franky
Nice
I take it Gav didn't get the Tiger display?
No, sadly not, we couldn't agree on a price
Some great Sailor Moon items that you guys didn't even look at
When we watch these back we always see items we missed, also not everything makes the edit 👍
@@leicestervintagetoyshop I can imagine that it's a sensory overload going to some of these places lol. I just assumed that maybe Sailor Moon didn't have a huge following in the UK
@@doesitmatter9085 it doesn’t to be fair but we think it’s a cool line!
I guess Gav didn’t get the Tiger display!
Nope. Such a cool item as well
Hi , new to your channel. Love it . Can you please tell me the name of the see through /clear plastic action figures? I think they may be Japanese and they have machinery in their bodies. Thank you
Welcome! In the U.K. the see through figures were made by Denys fisher and were called Cyborg, Muton and Android. They were derived from the Japanese toys as you suspected known as Henshin Cyborg. Loads of cool toy related history with these like Micronauts. For more information go and give our Jonathan Ross episode a look. He has an amazing collection of cool Japanese and Japanese influenced toys
Tante , tante, tante ..it is indeed..:)
........But is there any Robocop?......🤔🤔🤔😉😉😉
You always buy it all!
😉😉😉😉😉 yeah thanks for all the Robocop goodness 👍
Did you come across any Atlantic toy soldiers/figures over there?
You’ll have to wait and see!
@@leicestervintagetoyshop If you got the 1/32 political series I will cry I want them sooo bad.
My favorite price is “for you $XXX”
"amazin"
In your guys travels have you come across any star wars figures in the place you going i think it be cool to see some of the packaging for the countrys you are going to your friend jon daniels over here in oregon in the usa and unsual mike stent me to check out your channel thanks
Some in Paris, Ep 6.
Thanks for watching
whats the Milan store's name? I wll be there in june and want to go
What is the name of the toy shop in Bologna? It is never said and we are going there in 4 days… thx
We’ll check with Leo. Joe did say at the start of the episode but knowing him he’s probably said it wrong!
Address is “Via dagnini 21”, owned by Gianmauro Petrucci. No name of the front of the shop.
Thank you!!!
What’s the name of the shop in Bologna? I’m headed to Italy in June and I’m trying to capture the names of all the stores to hit while I’m there.
Can’t remember I shall try to find out
tutti sorpresi dall'italia ? pensavate di trovare solo pizza e mandolino ?
We found pizza!!
Only half way through and I had to give up after the 8th advert...really guys..??
You know you can just skip the adverts? Our settings are exactly the same as series one. UA-cam have got more ads in these days sadly
@@leicestervintagetoyshop how can I skip them..??!!
@@robbieduffy9998 bottom right says skip ads sometimes you have to wait 5 seconds.
@@leicestervintagetoyshop yea..you can do it on some ads..but others you have to watch the whole advert..!!
@@robbieduffy9998 🤷♂️ not much we can do about those sorry.
12:25 I have one of those loose somewhere.
I often wondered what it was.
There is a little ET inside if I remember.
38:30 Tomte Laerdal are a Norwegian company that makes toys and pharmaceutical equipment.
I collect only one of their rubbery plastic toys ... the Leyland Tipper which is almost but not quite a copy of the Matchbox K4.
It’s very very similar isn’t it!?
