They try to make it seem like it was some sexist thing, but clearly she just wasn't good at her job and didn't have the right skill set to survive in a high-paced corporate world. She stole credit for others work, had almost no critical thinking, actively tried to ruin good plans, and had no tenacity or conviction to see things through. Those are all atrocious traits in an executive and something everyone else around her saw and didn't want to promote.
Agree, movie seemed good but the fact that it was there inspire woman makes it into a joke.
