I really like the idea of the temp sensor heads. Seems like such a neat idea. It’s a shame they can’t be trusted. It’s cool that you put a vid out of this because otherwise the internet doesn’t actually show these nifty things in use whatsoever.

Love this. I didn't know the color of the surface affected the temp read-out on those meters! A really accurate, quick physical contact thermometer would be cool. Like one that clicked onto the glowplug the way a glow ignitor does. (I realize the Jedi Knights out there who are too cool for school say they dont need a temp tool. I am talking about me.) Love sound of the upcoming videos on in depth tuning and I am curious about the no break-in SH.
I do not understand how the wide open throttle, factory break-in that Novarossi did... I don't understand how that worked. I love your method of not turning off the engine... because that conrod isn't being abused like the "traditional" heat cycle method. My thing is I am not as skilled as you at making important correct adjustments on the fly and I'd be all paranoid and stressed out that I was doing something wrong.
I appreciate your mellow, conversational, talk... and the fact that your focus is on the hobby. You are not a political analyst, or teaching Sunday School lessons... you aren't trash talking... and you do not put others down. It seems like there are so many weird "experts" in this hobby/interest... and I cannot figure out why.
    ...Thanks Todd. 😊

Reminds me of the temperature sensing strips inside of a fish tank, they read halfway at best not to be trusted.

I run a picco .26 max in a revo, and it absolutely sings and runs beautiful around 270. I richen it up and run about 250 just bashing in my yard.
In your opinion, does running it at the 270 where it really rips lessen the life vs 250 with a little less power?

I think it would lessen the life running any engine right at it's peak, regardless of the temperature. Actually a better way to say it is you can extend the life by running at, say, 85-90% power or so. Peak power temperature being that high, I personally would try to back it off a touch. I've had good luck lowering temps with better heads, a trx 2.5r runs cooler than a 2.5
And have you tried adding a .1mm shim? Can also help to bring temps down. Thanks for watching!
