Hi Mr. Rossmann, what if you use big soldering tip in order to remove chips up to 1cm size? For example you can remove iphone 7 power ic using soldering iron without any risk to other components.

I used to support a major manufacturer of sound cards, and our "fan spin" was the windows startup sound. People would call in claiming no sound and we would do the troubleshooting, and then reboot, we would have "startup sound" baby!!
Serious Question! In the first 2 minutes you talk about apple products failing after a period of time. The brings me to a question. Does your comment have anything to do with or similar to the recent problems brought to light about the older iPhone. The way they changed the phones abilities via iOS updates is what I am referring to. my a1534 2016 have a different logic board, that chip is not in that position.

Just happened to my Mac12. Blinking Folder. I can start up to Recovery mode. Screen, keyboard everything works well. But Disk Utility cannot see any SSD drive.

Louis, thanks for the posting this fix. BTW you may already know but anyone using this QianLi 3267 thermal imager software and hardware may not know it does come in English! You can toggle from Chinese to English by going to the top right side of the software and its a drop down (looks like an eject button) press on it and click English and Walla you have English now (you have to press on this every time you open the app. Cheers

My Macbook 12 inch / early 2016 model just died last night. I was browsing and all of a sudden the screen froze and nothing could unfreeze it. Pressing the power key for several seconds to turn it off didn't work. Tried it again and the screen went dark. The Macbook was plugged in and fully charged. I tried everything to get the Mac to restart, unplugged, plugged back in, tried to reset the SMC, etc. Let it rest overnight. Nothing. It's dead. I do not have an extended warranty and this Mac is 3 years & 3 months old. Worth getting it fixed?

Hey Loius, I have a same model in which am getting supply 14.68V instead of 20V and my CPU V core not showing any Volts.. earlier it wasn't booting at all then I did some SMC Resets and PRAM Resets then I kept it on charge overnight next morning it was ON and showing login screen, then it started working but every 10-20 mins it freezes and shuts down, this kept on going for about a month or so now its completely dead I think.. No response on SMC or PRAM Reset either..

As soon as my A1534 starts, I get stuck at the password screen and I cannot do nothing there. Suddenly a "no keyboard detected" messagge appears. Also the trackpad doesn't work (as the cursor stays fixed in the corner).
I have replaced both the 2 trackpad flex cables with new brand ones. I have replaced also the trackpad. The issues remain. What might be the more likely problem according to you, Louis ?

I’m having the exact same issue and being quoted almost €900 (which I don’t have) to fix this. I’m not sure what my options are. My computer is two and a half years old. I have one of these and it seems to have all the correct voltages and the cpu area gets warm when plugged in even without the power button being pressed. Battery is WAY dead - less than 1v. Tried isolating battery terminal but still no video. Anyone have ideas?

the 2012 mini mac is robust as hell. When i first started repairing macs in 1990 they were more reliable than PC's but now they are so flakey
Random heads up, LTT are considering sending you their iMac pro that it sounds like one of them dropped, apparently Apple are straight up refusing to fix it.
There's a 0.0001% chance I can find a screen for that... this is typical Apple. It takes years for them to flow from whatever factory/warehouse to the hands of brokers/distributors who will sell to us, and that is for items where there is great demand for screen replacements like Macbooks. iMacs have very low demand for LCDs so there are almost no one trying to source/sell them. Just people pulling them from dead machines and selling them on eBay.
Apparently it's a PSU issue or something? They said something about the screen too but I assume they would just replace that themselves as they tend to be semi competent. Idk, Luke seemed super hyped about sending it to you on the WAN show (55 minutes in).

Repair is the only way. You can’t disconnect the SSD, only target disk mode

No one will like my answer. I think it's a huge overreaction. I looked at my own stats and at the time where I was that small I would have been getting paid close to nothing anyway. I didn't even enable monetization for the first two and a half years because the audience retention was far more important than the few cents I would have received from the dwindling viewcounts in the beginning.
I personally don't think anyone should put ads on videos with super small channels. When you have 100-1M viewers a month, you can risk losing a few viewers who do not want to watch an ad. It's not a big deal when you have millions of viewers if you lose a few. This is very different in the beginning: when you have a very low viewcount, you need every last view. You need those very few viewers to tell everyone they know you exist. You can't afford to risk them not watching your channel because there is an ad. The lost view in the beginning is far more hurtful than the lost $0.005 from that individual viewer not seeing an ad play.
Check this out Louis I have 3 channels. I watch you all the time on my main channel. I know what you make I saw the live video of you showing your stats.... DUDE mine are not EVEN the same. I made with 200 sub channel 125 a month. Now that is significant. for at least me. You are a brilliant guy and I really respect everything you say. But look at this from someone else point of view. I dont think you know this exists. I am just making you aware. How to videos like mine and rants on bad products dont get subs but they get watch time like crazy. From your point of view I would agree with you completely but from others like me it really sucks.

My screen flashes and goes completely dark if I put the bottom plate screws in. Anyone else encountered this? I this a CPU repaste, all went well just can't put the bottom screws in or the screen dies. Thanks
Circuit board might be touching the back plate of the laptop or some metal which shorts out pins. I wouldn't know though, never worked on a Mac before.
@@nichijew2441 thanks man, you were pretty much dead on I think. I disassembled the whole thing and noticed the microphone wire was resting on the edge of one of the motherboard (logicboard) screw inserts. This caused the entire board to rest a 1 or 2mm up, then when the base screws were tightened I assume the problem is like you say. not had an issue in a week so alls good. (was my 1st disassembly and would not have attempted if I hadn't got upgrade which I'm hoping to do the same on).

I have the 12 inch MacBook (older one). When I boot it up it gives me a question mark with the folder. Issue is I took it to Apple who quoted me over $500 for repair. They say that the logic board is messed up. I told them that I think it’s an issue that the wire from the hard drive to wherever it goes it loose. They wouldn’t listen. The MacBooks been sitting idle for months in my room. I started it up for the hell of it after a few months and it booted up just fine. I went to type in my pw and I forgot it. So I clicked on reset pw w iCloud online. And boom. The folder w the question mark came back. Wtf do it do?!
